Is this a 2020 version?

One of the nice things about Webroot is that your anti-virus is always updated automatically from the Internet. There is very little on your computer. So, your software is always the most current version as long as you are accessing the Internet.

Is this provided as a serial number / cd key?

You will receive a Keycode by email, I have been receiving my internet security software this way for about 8 or 9 years now. With about 4 of those years with Webroot, it has provided me with great protection that does not cause computer lag like Kaspersky, Norton or McAfee

If I have a current Webroot subscription will it add the year to existing one?

Yes, but you will need to add the new subscription code. No need to pay extra high annual subscription.

Is this the 2016 edition? Thank you

No such thing with Webroot. The software is constantly updated so that even if you had an old executable it would immediately update itself and then scan your system after you entered the new license key.

Is the only way to buy this product for $14.99 is to apply for a credit card?

No, if you see the credit card offer when you go to checkout, just hit secure checkout, then you will be directed to pament page. The newegg credit card is basically just an advertisement to apply if you would like to.
