NZXT introduces the descendant of the revolutionary Phantom, the Phantom 410. The beautiful and sleek Phantom design sets the trend for all-white chassis - ideal for optimal expansion and cooling. In comparison to its predecessor, the Phantom 410 delivers more value for your dollar and possesses an acrylic window which allows gamers to admire the power of their rig.
The Phantom 410 features innovative right-mounted HDD rails, a solution for easy hard drive replacement. This mid-tower comes equipped with a dual radiator water cooling solution with a clearance of 30mm, an interior pivot 120mm/140mm fan slot, the capability of installing up to eight fans, and a single 30W fan control. The Phantom comes with two internal USB 3.0 headers that directly connect to the motherboard. Be the envy of all PC gamers - the Phantom 410 is bringing sexy back.
Pros: Distinctive plastic case styling. Gunmetal for this review. Wish they all came in this color. Solid and functional steel chassis. Painted gunmetal on the interior. 1" / 2.55mm of cable management space underneath the motherboard. 3 pre-installed fans, which offer moderately good stock airflow. (Please see Other Thoughts below.) Side panels are very durable and easy to remove with thumbscrew and slide design. Top half side panel window was well protected and not scratched. Removable HDD cage for increased airflow/longer graphics cards. The HDD bays are easily accessible from the cable management side of the case. 2 USB 3.0 and 2 USB 2.0 on top along with headphone and 3-way fan controller. Stock Fans are quite quiet (under 28 db). The case comes with numerous parts, screws, zip ties, mounting points, etc. Excellent value.
Cons: Major: Front double mesh configuration really restricts airflow. A removable and cleanable filter would be a far better solution than the weird plastic mesh that is oddly not replaceable and hence not easily cleaned. Minor: Wish the bottom HDD module had space for 3 instead of just 2 racks. The rubber grommets for cable management are still inexplicably delicate and easily separated from the chassis. Care must be taken when threading cables through them. The front panel door panel takes a lot of zen to open and the latch doesn't always keep door shut unless you really press hard. It's a little cheesy.
Overall Review: The first thing I did was snip out the rear 120mm exhaust mesh and replace it with an aftermarket fan grill. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811998059 Bought 2 140mm fans for the top exhaust. Took the original 140 from the top and put it in front. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835146002 Took the leftover 120mm fan and put it on the bottom. Cooler and breezier now. Over the last two years I've built 5 systems that spec'd NZXT cases. Only problem was a missing bag of fan screws on one and a defective connector on another. Both were resolved without hassle, free of charge and delivered within 5 business days. so I've had nothing but good experiences with NZXT and can trust them to go the extra mile for me and my customers complete satisfaction. If you have a damaged or missing part (**** happens) then simply contact them via their website, use the online chat feature (not email) and they'll take good care of you.
