will this work for the first generation Ipad... and does it come with the wall plug?

Yes it will work. It's your standard 30 pin connector. It does not come with a wall plug. The led indicator doesn't work right. It supposed to be red for charging and blue for charged. It just keeps flashing between the two while charging.

Does this work for an MP3 player?

It only works for apple devices like iphone ipod and older ipads. It will not work for any other device
