Excellent 7/1/2007 12:53:01 PM

Pros: Owned this card for 6 Months and love it. SILENT. I'm so used to my silent PC that I notice how noisy other ones are.

Cons: None.

Overall Review: Bought this with the Cooler Master Centurion 5 case which has big quiet fans and great air flow.

Quiet and problem free 6/27/2007 9:42:48 PM

Pros: Quiet!!! Can I say that again? Compared to many video cards this one is SILENT. It's plenty fast for most games and is easy to overclock - if you have some patience. Cheap in comparison as well.

Cons: You might need to be careful that the heat sink fins fit in your case. Nothing else noted.

Overall Review: If it fits, you really can't beat the price if the rebate is still on. Until the 8x series cards came WAY down in price, this is a great deal.

What hot? Not hot. 6/27/2007 11:50:47 AM

Pros: Simple install. Works great. Still works great 6 months later. No tearing, no artifacts, no overheating, no driver issues (ever).

Cons: None, except it being SLI makes me want to buy another one!

Overall Review: Okay, I understand that this is nowhere near the top of video cards, but I've used it to play: Oblivion, FEAR, STALKER, GRAW, NWN2, Lara Croft Legends, Medieval Total War 2, and more. Sure, on the highest settings I occasionaly had some noticeable FPS loss, but I'm convinced that my processor has more to do with it than this video card. And it's never over-heated, never, not in 6 months of gaming, and it's been overclocked from the beginning (using the Nvidea app provided). I will buy another one of these soon, and double up.

I just wanted to let people know that not everyone has these heat issues. I'd suggest turning up the air conditioning. I'm serious. If your home isn't cool - your PC will run hot. Period.

Decent 7 Series Card 6/13/2007 7:11:28 PM

Pros: Passive, decent heatsink, takes up one slot (but read Cons), a nice black PCB, outperforms the 8600 series in DX9 games, and a LIFETIME WARRANTY - OVERCLOCK TO YOUR HEART'S CONTENT!

Cons: NOT DX10 compatible, somewhat large HS hit my PSU in a TT Lanbox when I had a Tforce 690G MB installed (fits the case perfectly on a Tforce 7050-PV MB though), and the heatsink could be more spread out.

Overall Review: Temperature range: Full Load ~ 58C, Ambient Temp ~ 18C (mind you, its in a confined mATX case...)
3DMark06 Score: 5026 (Stock) - haven't tested with an OC...
Setup: Athlon X2 4400+ Brisbane @ 2.3Ghz, 2GBPK RAM, Tforce 7050-PV, TT Toughpower 700W PSU

Stick with the upper 7 series if you still play DX9 games; IMO and from what I've read, the 8600 series UNDER PERFORMS the high 7 series b/c of a 128-bit bus and fewer shaders/pixels (or something).

Good, but no longer the best 6/8/2007 12:30:55 PM

Pros: Attractive black PCB, passive heat management, vista compatible. Ran Source games such as Half Life 2 and Garry's mod with *max* settings from upwards of 100fps. Cannot comment on overclocking, as I have not done it but you can do a standard pencil-on volt mod on this one.

Cons: The 8600 series. Within a week after I purchased this card, the price on the 8600's dropped to this level. There's no longer a compelling reason to get a 7 series at this price range.

Heat spreader got VERY hot. I burned myself touching one of the heat pipes. I rested an 80mm case fan on top of the heat sink and it cooled very nicely and quietly. No longer passive, though.

Overall Review: This is an excellent card if you're looking for a 7 series card (for whatever reason). But with the lower prices on an 8600, you're better off with one of them. Newer technology, more power, and more is offloaded from the processer to the GPU wiith the 8 series architecture.

HOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 5/29/2007 9:54:54 AM

Pros: Awesome card ran CS Source at average 150~ fps.

Cons: After about 6 hours of the first day it Overheated and started to display artifacts. (No attempt to Overclock) I'm getting a replacement and Rigging some sort of Cooling fan onto it.

Hot card 5/24/2007 11:05:17 AM

Pros: Very good card. Ran F.E.A.R. very well with graphics options maxed. Ran everything I could throw at it. Didn't start seeing problems till I maxed Oblivion.

Cons: Hot Card. After stressing the card it got to 80c. I did "rig" a small fan on the heat pipe side and it dropped the temp about 15-18c.

Overall Review: Case design also had a little to do with High temp.

hot hot hot 5/21/2007 6:39:14 PM

Pros: Great card, one of the better pre dx10 cards you can get, good price although mine i got from an rma of a discontinued version of the xfx 7900 GS

Cons: runs hot, idles at 62c, havent had a chance to monitor temps under load though.

Overall Review: It's a bit bigger than i expected too barely fits on to my asus P5B Deluxe mobo in my Thermaltake Tsunami Dream case with 5 hdds installed took a bit of effort to finally get installed
