Question 1

I have an older build rig that only has a 300W power supply. I want to upgrade my video card, but would a 300W PSU with older, less power consuming hardware be enough to power this card?

The manufacturer recommends a minimum of 400W, although I do not think this card is a heavy power consumer, I would recommend upgrading your PSU if you can afford to do it.
     If you have a dell, then you may have to do some research in order to find a replacement dell compatible power supply.  I was able to find a 450W unit for about $45 shipped on ebay after searching for suppliers who specifically guaranteed compatibility for my particular model.       
     If you are unable to upgrade your power supply, and want to roll the dice on this video card, then I recommend disconnecting or shutting off unneeded power draws using your bios (for instance, optical drive, extra hard drives etc.)  However, at 300W, I'd guess you will have to expect occasional crashes.
    Otherwise, I have been happy with the card so far, although I have not pressed it too hard.  It was an upgrade from integrated graphics...

Question 2

I picked up a Gateway SX2110G really cheap and am looking at upgrade options.  I upped the hard drive to 1TB, and RAM to 8 GB.  I want to get this card to upgrade my graphics card and use this computer as a cheap little steambox for low to mid level gaming, but I am worried about the power supply.  The page states that it needs a 400 watt PSU, my PSU is only 220 watts.  My machine uses a custom power supply that I don't think can be upgraded.  However, my CPU is an AMD E-1500, which only uses 18 watts of power.  Will my system be able to handle this card?

Probably not. I just installed that card a few weeks ago as an upgrade to the Radeon 4350. It doubled my graphics performance and steam games run at max no problem. One of the reasons I chose it was the stock HP computer I was using only had a 400W supply. Not sure if there is a way you can try it or not to see.

does this card work with a Mac Pro?

Well I currently use this card in a Windows 7 build and it works better than I expected, however I have heard others successfully using this with mac machines however you may want to confirm that perhaps checking out a few of the mac forums.

I would not attempt this card in a Mac, at least not without going to Apple's website and identifying if this card is even supported.  Now if you attempt creating a Hackintosh (i.e. Mac OS running on PC components), it MAY work as long as someone has written a driver for it.  But if you're going for the pure Apple experience, stick with Apple-approved components.

I am running dual 23" HDMI ACER monitors, with a single Titan Superclocked vcard, and its awesome. It runs a rock hard 60fps with over 4gig of its vram used. Totally awesome card.
