There are no required power chords to use this video card but you will need a minimum of a 400 watt power supply to run it....just plug it into the PCI-E socket install the drivers and you are good to go. And an added FYI you cant use a DVI to VGA adapter on this video card if your monitor doesn't have a DVI then you are out of luck.

This Video Card XFX HD 667x cfd3 will physical fit a full size case like yours in the PCI E 16 x video slot. The main question will be can the stock power supply handle this card. The Card states it needs 400 watt power supply, and has no special power connections, all power is through the PCI  16X slot.  I would read the spec on  the inside of your power supply. If over 300 watts or better 350 watts I would try it. Remember this card doe not support VGA even with adaptors; only  DVI or HDMI  monitors/ tv only

It is not a low profile nessisarily but it is a shorter length than some of the other cards. Fits into a crowded chassis more so than longer cards.

Yes, but only digital(hdmi,dvi, etc.). It doesn't support analog (vga, component, etc)

I've used the Displayport and DVI-D at 2560x1440@60Hz and HDMI 2560x1440@30Hz. In my case, my Acer B276HUL monitor EDID only announces 1920x1080@60Hz (1080p), so to get full resolution I had to do custom timings and EDID overrides. So watch out for that with any display. I can't test any higher but the mfg. specs the card to be capable of max 2560x1600. Not quite UHD or 4K capable. Usually thought of as (3840x2160) and (4096×2160).

Re: DisplayPort adapters. There are two primary types of DisplayPort adapters: "passive", and "active". You will likely want an "active" DisplayPort adapter...which will generally cost at least US$25. ANYTHING cheaper is most likely a "passive" adapter...but watch out as even outrageously expensive adapters can be "passive". Read the specifications CAREFULLY. Unfortunately, most retailers don't indicate whether the adapter for sale is "passive" or "active". Look at the user reviews from MULTIPLE websites for deficiencies and whether "active" or "passive", and read the manufacturer's website for specifications where possible. For DisplayPort adapters in particular, I have found user reviews to be most helpful in learning about deficiencies in specific adapters. For general info on these, look in wikipedia. Knowing the details IS critical for the DisplayPort adapter.

Would I be able to run three 24" Monitors by installing two of these cards into my motherboard?

Will two cards work in tandem on the same motherboard?

This video card doesn't support three monitors and it doesn't support more than one of this card per board. If you want to install more than one video card to get the bandwidth and to install multiple video cards then you need a motherboard that supports sli for Nvidia or crossfire for AMD. The same apply for the video card. You need one that can  be arrange to sli or crossfire not this one.

I'm looking at a mother board ASUS Model #A78M-A which is specifically designed to optimize use of an AMD APU with "select radeon 6000 graphics cards".  Is this one of those select cards?

I am not familiar with the ASUS Motherboard you mention however, this is a 6000 series Radeon card. If you want to know if it is one that ASUS recommends for there motherboard it should be listed in there manual or on there website.

As long as you have a PCI Express 2.1 or higher port on your motherboard, you should be fine. I don't run any of my devices on Windows 8, but below is a response on a forum which goes into details about fixing a problem if your PC doesn't boot after installing new graphics card.

"Based on the specs, your HP Pavilion 500-164 Desktop Computer came with Windows 8 installed and has a feature called "Secure Boot". You need to DISABLE "Secure Boot" and ENABLE "Legacy Support" in the BIOS before the computer will boot with the nVidia 9600 GT installed.
 
Please remove the video card, make the changes to the BIOS, and power down the computer. Next, reinstall the video card and turn the computer on. Your issue should be solved."

I think the listed specs and a reviewer MAY be wrong regarding the DVI port limitations.

Both the specification and a reviewer (as of 20140717) claims the DVI port is DVI-D, which means a DVI2VGA adapter would not work.

However, the images of the card clearly show this is a DVI-I Dual-Link connector, with connector pins in all available locations, including the analog pins. Standards dictate DVI connectors NOT be used improperly by manufacturers (in other words, you don't put a DVI-I connector on a DVI-D only card).

Has anyone actually TRIED using a DVI to VGA adapter on this card, and if so, did it work as expected?

I did and it didn't work.  I thought it was an issue with my card until I read your description.  I tried two separate DVI-VGA adaptors and neither worked.  The monitor wouldn't recognize a signal.  I eventually had to get a HDMI-DVI cable to hook up the monitor.
