It talks about streaming in the description a bit. Is it capable of streaming Bluetooth or is there an optional device that need to be purchased to make this happen?

You need another device. The one I purchased had a promo to get the bluetooth receiver for free. It is super nice to have it hooked up. It is definitely worth getting if you will use it. We love ours.

Can I connect my Wii to the analog component input (Wii audio to AV 4) and have it converted to the HDMI output?

To my knowledge, this particular unit can not output AV/component inputs on hdmi. It must be AV-AV, component-component, hdmi-hdmi. I had a similar issue trying to connect a GameCube. I had to use a single video wire to the tv to get a picture.  Hope this helps. Still a great unit otherwise!

No Bluetooth accessory that I know of, everything is through Spotify and Pandora via WiFi.

does this work on a 220 volt?

Pg 26 of the User Manual indicates that, "yes" there is a selection for 220 volts.

No you would need to buy a higher model.

how do I quickly and simply rebalance sound between left and right ?

Use the YPAO mike.  When you plug it in the receiver will automatically bring up the auto setup menu.  Once you've used the auto balance function you can then go back and adjust things, although I've always found the unit does it better.

can i use my existing 5.1 bose speaker set up with this receiver?

This systems  connections for speaker wires is standard. So I guess it would depend on what type of wires your Bose system uses. If its basic wires that you trim the ends your good to go

I am looking to wirelessly send music from my Macbrook Pro to the receiver. Would Airplay work if the Yamaha RX-V477 is not connected to the router?

My Yamaha does not have a wireless capability.  To accomplish getting music from my windows machine I connect a computer to the receiver via an HDMI input.  The computer has a wireless connection, via a router, to the computer that has the music.  The video portion is output via HDMI to the TV.   I use the computer to select the music to play.  In case you have not done so you can download the receiver user guide from Yamaha.  Good luck.

I had a htr 4065 receiver with 6 ohm yamaha speakers, can I use the speakers with the rx-v477 receiver?
