What is Zone B 2.1-CH Output? Is that answered in the Intelligent Amp Assign section?

Zone B is actually a 2 channel output for a second set of speakers you wish to place in another room or outside on a patio, etc. apart from your main listening area.  When you power on Zone 2 (using the remote, an app on your networked smartphone, or the front of the receiver) the unit automatically reassigns the rear surround amplifier to power the zone 2 speakers. It turns off the rear surround speakers in your main listening area.  With your remote in zone 2 mode (basically move a little slider on the remote) or app you can then tell the receiver what you want to play through the zone 2 speakers without it affecting your main zone.  You can listen to online radio in zone 2 while watching/listening to TV your main zone.  You do not have to assign the amp manually in the amp assign section. When you want to turn off zone 2 just hit the power button while the remote is in zone 2 mode and your rear surround speakers in your main zone turn back on.  It is pretty easy once you get used to how it works.  The receiver has 2 subwoofer outputs on the back but they both output the same information from the main zone, so zone 2 is just a composite right and left speaker output for whatever source you select.  Just hook up your zone 2 speakers and the receiver will know they are there but will not play anything through them until you turn on zone 2..  a little red "zone 2" light will show on the front of the receiver when it is on. I have inherited a pair of Klispch Cornwall II speakers from my father, but he sold the receiver he had with his system. Will this receiver be a good replacement and be able to handle the sound these speakers can put out? My father has passed on and was more knowledgeable about 70's and 80's sound systems. I also have my own speakers and need to replace my 5.1 receiver.

This is an excellent receiver and will more than handle the output from those speakers. I have the full system setup for 7.1, 2 Pioneer tower speakers as my main output, Pioneer center speaker, Yamaha subwoofer, 2 Pioneer book shelf speakers as my front surround, and 2 Yamaha book shelf speakers as my back surround. I generally keep the volume on the receiver set at about 40 to 30db and I can hear every little sound. I have my subwoofer set to channel 80 and it thumps the room even at that setting. Even with all those speakers the receiver has more than enough power to give me a high quality sound and enough left over to give me more. As I said I generally keep the volume at 40 to 30 db unless I'm listening to tunes and if I do increase the volume and really crank it up there is no distortion, cracking, or delay. Have fun with the receiver, its a great little piece of equipment for what you pay.
