The DF5U3 is NOT a NAS, it is a DAS and does NOT support RAID. - DF5U3 5 bay hard drive enclosure does NOT have hardware RAID capability built-in and cannot create RAID arrays on its own. You can still do RAlD arrays via sofware. For instance, using Microsoft Storage Spaces.
- Always use your operating system's EJECT HARD DRIVE function before removing a disk,turning off your enclsoure, or opening any hard drive bay.
- If you are using a brand new hard drive, it may need to be formatted and partitioned before it can be recognized by the computer. Please remember to back up your data.
