Does this device install inside your home or outside?

It depends on your house.  This item requires a minimum of a 15 foot vertical separation between the antenna and the base unit.  If you have a tall house you can keep the antenna indoors but if not you would have to put the antenna outdoors on a pole or on the roof.
I did not have this 15 foot vertical separation available to me, so I gave the unit to my sister who had a multi-story house.  Then I bought the other unit called the "zBoost Metro", part number yx540, which is designed for apartments or places where you do not have the 15 foot vertical separation.  You only need about a 9 foot horizontal separation of the antenna and the base unit.  The antenna is made to attach to you window with large suction cups which are supplied.  This unit does work for me.

Question 2

I live in a rural area. have to drive 1 miles for AT&T cell ophone reception. Will this product give me reception?

It really depends on A) what AT&T's coverage map is like near where you live, and B) what the terrain is like near your place of residence.

Before buying ANYTHING, I strongly recommend you call AT&T customer service and ask them to check what their coverage actually is, based on your plan. It can change based on whether you have a post-paid plan or a GoPhone. Even if AT&T's antenna is only a mile away, this product will NOT help if you live in a completely dead zone.

That said, if there's signal reasonably close by, this ought to pick it up. Just make sure you 1) check with AT&T, 2) explore other AT&T options (if, for instance, you find out there's supposed to be service where you live but you're not getting any, raising hell to try to get the AT&T brand signal booster for free from them might be worth it), 3) explore other carrier options, and finally 4) if you do go ahead and purchase this it is a great little helper, but make absolutely sure you have at LEAST 15 feet of vertical separation between the base and the receiver (or purchase a high-gain antenna).

will this work with any carrier?   i have Verizon Wireless.

Hi, it should work with any carrier as long has they have anthenas in the vicinity. Our staff mostly have T-mobile and At&t Cell phones and some of our customers have Verizon and Sprint. Our office is located on the first floor of a highrise building and about 50-60 feet from a small street in Downtown NYC and the cell phone coverage specially after Hurricane Sandy has been poor. Before the storm, Sprint and Verizon had good signals. At&t was next followed by poor reception by T-mobile. after Sandy, At&t signal seemed stronger, but Verizon & Sprint suffered and T-mobile had the same poor signal as before. After installing Boost Anthena, I can tell for certain that At&t signal was increased by 1 bar and T-mobile by at least 2 bars and Verizon and Sprint have much better signals also. So I believe the booster helps with all carriers. Sorry for the long answer!!

I am on the Verizon network. Is this booster compatable with Verizon??

Yes. But it will only boost  3G, not 4G. Also, it's only as good as the signal you get where you place the main antenna. In other words, it's not really a signal booster but extends the same signal from the receiving antenna location (usual in an attic or on a roof) to the rest of the house. For me that's fine as I can now send/received calls in my basement even if the signal is not any better than outside. Also, the range is a bit limited. While I can get signal in the basement, its only if I'm near the booster upstairs obviously. I ended up putting mine on a 6' pvc pipe attached to a satellite dish mount to get some extra height off my roof and seems to be fine for me. Just hope it doesn't become a lightning rod. :)

does this work with the Verizon cell phones?  What all comes with it?  Does it have a 30 day money back guantiey.

A better term for what the product can do should be a local cell area extender, not a cell booster. This device simply takes the best cell signal that you already get in the best area of your house and allows you to redistribute it through the device that is featured in the picture. If you can move the included antenna and attached cable wire to a high point on your house, and you get a better cell signal there, you effectively local area broadcast that signal in another room within your house. Note that you must run a thin wired cable from the antenna to the base station. Does it work? Within reason, it does, but is not a miracle worker. If you have bad cell service in your area, it will not do much for you, unless you install the antenna upon a very tall tower.  We had a dead spot in our first-floor kitchen which was resolved by the product, so for us, it worked.

compatible with Verizon Iphone 4?

Find the frequency verizon use, this is a dual band unit, 850mhz and 1900mhz. If you dial *3001#12345#* and call, this puts the iphone into test mode, you need the upload and download frequencys which determin what verizon use in your area, these can be googled, hope that helps

I have a 4G phone, in my house it connects to a 3G network with 1-3 bars, and occasionally connects to a 4G network with 1 bar. If I install this product, I realize it will not work with 4G (which is not important as I use Wi-Fi for data while I'm home), but will it boost my signal to be able to make and receive calls and texts, or will the phone still connect to the 1 bar 4G when it thinks it can?

It'll boost your signal immensely to send texts and get calls but if you don't stay connected to wifi it'll still try randomly connect to 4G.  I've found that turning off 4G at home in case I run out of wifi range has the most positive results, as constantly trying to get 4G coverage drains my battery.  This is by far the best booster I've bought and I tried a few, back of the phone adhesive ones and what not.

How does this work?  How is it installed?  Does it work with all the major carriers? (Verizon, TMobile, AT&T, Sprint)

Mine works great. I have Verizon and live in the mountains where the coverage is very spotty. You must have some signal. I downloaded a free app for my phone which maps the signal and strength to determine the best location to install. I recommend this as a first step. I also have a metal roof that can interfer with reception so I mounted my antenna on a 5ft pole strapped to an existing vent pipe on the roof getting it about 4ft above the roofline and connected the cable through the ridge vent down through the attic and into my kitchen. I spent the effort up front with the installation but it paid off. I get great reception all through my house and in my yard. It works if you have a signal but you must do your research to determine if the signal exists where you need reception. My daugher has another carrier that does not have broad coverage. It doesn't help her.

Does this work with T Mobile networks, U S Cellular network, AT & T networks?

I have only tested the device with AT&T, for which it works fine, but the product specifications indicate that it is compatible with the other two you mentioned. All of them use a standard US PCS frequency supported by the device.
