Does this help with data? My problem is not only cell signal but also data

It will help with data at the 3g speed. As long as you have the recieving antenna in an area that has decent 3g speeds, it will distribute that service into the area of the base unit. Do not think of this as a booster so to say, its basically a repeater. Things to keep in mind is that you must have at least 15 VERTICAL feet between the recieving antenna and the distributing antenna on the base unit. I also have to reset mine all the time as things "kick" it. Furnace blowers, other peoples phones that visit kick it off pretty often, but a reset usually gets it back to working. If you want 4g speeds boosted, you'll have to purchase a 4g booster- as 4g is actually another frequency all its own, apart from 3g, 1x, etc
