Will this work with Charter Cable internet?

It isn't listed on their list. While it would probably work, I wouldn't recommend getting something off their list. If anything -- *anything* - ever goes wrong, they will simply immediately blame the fact that you have an unapproved Modem and call it a day. Newegg won't let me link to you to them directly, but if you goog "compliant modems charter network" it should be the first result.

can this replace my comcast arris gateway TG862G? Is it compatible with wifi and do i need to buy a separate router or is this all i need?

You could use this modem to replace the TG862G but you would need a separate wifi router. I would personally avoid Zoom and use Motorola/Arris.
