5 out of 5 eggsFollow up review....

Pros: Excellent processor but, this is a small follow up to my last review, I forgot to mention.......

Cons: .....the only con with this CPU is the lousy fan/heatsink that Intel gives you...do yourself a favor and order a better F/Heatsink for this bad boy.

Overall Review: Bad Fan / heatsink

1 out of 1 people found this review helpful. Did you? Yes No

4 out of 5 eggsVery snappy

Pros: Very fast chip as expected compared to my old E6750 @3.2
With the stock sink and fan at full speed it idles at 64F in a case that is 71F.
This is using speed step and C1E, running full speed will raise the temperature 20F.

Cons: Under load the cores can hit 200F using Intel burn but the max CPU temp is 167 thus proving Intel used too much thermal paste between the chips and the plate which hurts heat transfer.
A better sink will not help as much due to this design.
They could improve this by having a square copper core for 100% coverage instead of it being round. Intel is missing 20% of heat transfer potential with this design.

Overall Review: Maybe it's my Gigabyte board but I have yet to see 3.2. If speed step and C1E are turned off the chip runs at full turbo @3.4 whereas it should be 3.2 at idle.
This should not be happening but I would not call it a con per say but it does use power power and create more heat when in turbo mode.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Low Power Fast CPU

Pros: Extremely Fast Single Core Performance
Low Power Usage
Lower Idle of 800 mhz
Faster HD4600 (If anyone even uses that)
Best Gaming CPU

Cons: Locked Multiplier (Marketing Bogus and why I removed a star)

Still doesn't use a quality thermal paste for the heatsink causing higher temps than there should be (still not extremely hot)

Stock heatsinks is junk

Pricey still (Mostly due to lack of competition from AMD)

Not much change since Sandy Bridge

Overall Review: With lack of competition, performance has hardly improved Sandy, I had an i5-2500k which when overclocked was as fast or faster. Power Consumption is not any better than Ivy Bridge under load, in fact in benchmarks it uses moree, not sure if due to the built in GPU which is a little faster. Idle consumption is only a little lower).

Price is also a little high without AMD to really give them a run for it with CPUs. Only their APUs walk circles over Intel but most computers are with a dedicated GPU and we need a good CPU. If AMD goes out of business we could see even higher prices for these i5s.

Stock heatsink is the same included with i-3s, Least Intel could do is not ship without one and subtract a few dollars from price or include a decent 120mm one so you don't have to buy an aftermarket one. Works okay for i3s only.

Few games will ever max it out even with stock speeds. My AsRock h87 unfortunately only allows K cpu overclocking and this can only be raised up to 3.6GHz without the boost permanently. Nevertheless it never reaches more than 50-60% usage even with a Radeon 7950 so spend your money on a GPU.

I opted to save $30-40 by not going with the K-CPU as from experience few games demand more CPU performance and I like to keep the power consumption to a lower limit since my room gets too hot.

Honestly its frustrating that you have to pay more to get a feature that they purposefully spent time and money on to remove which is normally there!! Unlock the multipliers like AMD does.

5 out of 5 eggsIntel Leads The Pack

Pros: Stable, fast, low power for the power (lol that sounds funny).

Cons: About twice the cost of AMD...

Overall Review: I can't speak for the integrated graphics, I have not used it. The 84w is honest. I have a gtx 760 and this cpu, and I never even use half of my 450 watts of power. Props to Intel for pursuing lower power technology, future tech here.

5 out of 5 eggsPretty Good So Far

Pros: Pretty Fast, stable processor. Low Power consumption when not being taxed.

Cons: none so far

Overall Review: I bought this for my new gaming rig to save some money because my last system had an i7 that never stressed itself out on performance. It works great so far, and I can even run some of my games on it with medium settings (i am still waiting for my video card to get shipped out).

5 out of 5 eggsIntel Scores Big!

Pros: Installation was painless. I basically needed a back up computer to get on the internet if my gaming computer goes down. I am also using the integrated graphics and it is great for everyday use. Just not for gaming, but you already knew that. I am also using the stock heat sink and fan without any problems.

Cons: No overclocks here folks. You are going to have to fork out $20 or $30 for an overclockable Haswell chip.

Overall Review: Couldn't believe there was a heatsink and fan in that little box, but there was and it works fine.

5 out of 5 eggsMy First Intel

Pros: FAST.
Easy to instal
Came with a blue sticker.

Cons: None so far.

Overall Review: I have run AMD processors since my first K7S5A, as the performance to cost ratio was always worth the decreased performance IMO. With the current generation AMD no longer has that advantage, so I caved and purchased an i5. I came from a quad core 3.4 phenom Black to this, and it is hands down better. I realize that it is generations ahead of the Phenom, but the performance difference is mind blowing. I am running the same, GTX460 i ran on the AMD and I have even noticed frame rate increases on my games. I may not buy another AMD.

Pros: This cpu is great for anybody who doesn't want to work with overclocking. A aftermarket cooler is not necessary for this cpu. It stays chily.

5 out of 5 eggsvery Very nice.

Pros: Very easy to install the physical chip. drop it, lock it and go!

very Very fast/responsive. I've used a new build for about a month now and its the fastest cpu i've ever used. Granted its the fasted cpu i've ever owned, but yeah. lol.

stock cooler is halfway decent. Heard so often people say the stock cooler was garbage but this is very nice. Youd really only need an aftermarket cooler if you're doing some heavy work.

Cons: CPU cooler installation was a little hard. Maybe i'm just dumb but the instructions were a little hard to follow. When i was installing it i didnt get it locked in correctly and it fell off, dangling only by the fan cables.
I have since locked it on correctly, but it took a few tries. NOTE: twist the poles all the way in so the arrow points at the fan. THEN push it in and hear a *click* I thought you had to turn them while pushing, which made it very hard. Either the instructions were bad or i'm an idiot, but hopefully you dont make the same mistake.

definitely not worthy to take an egg off, but a "con" nonetheless.

Overall Review: Very nice. Only had that one tiny problem with it. working perfectly otherwise. highly recommend.

2 out of 5 eggsNow Overpriced Compared to 1150 Competition.

Pros: • Performs well in gaming situations.

• Still outperforms most AMD DDR3 platforms

Cons: • The value of this processor is basically non-existent now. Even if it were on sale I'd say you can get a better 1150 socket for not much more money these days.

Overall Review: Technically, you can't go wrong with any i5 desktop CPU if your goal is purely gaming, but the price of the 4690k has gone down to almost matching the price of this one and it offers significantly improved performance.

Since this will never be a "budget" CPU it's just not worth recommending anymore. It's a solid performer for gaming and will get you by in most cpu intensive applications but it's just not worth the money anymore.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent performance

Pros: Wow. I just upgrade from an old Pentium E2180 and this is amazing. Is very fast. It usually takes hours to decode a video with ConvertXtoDVD (with E2180), and now is like magic, around 5-10 minutes (i5 4570). Really happy with my purchase. It actually runs games without a video card. I’m playing Ghost Recon Phantoms with no lag. This is really impressive.

Cons: no cons so far

Overall Review: I got this baby on a ASRock B85 Pro 4 and 8gb ram ADATA 1600, and run fast like hell. Just waiting to get my R9 280 to see if I can get 60 fps on BFF 4 on ULTRA.

Pros: Have been running for 7 months with no problems.
My system runns 2x GTX760, so I've never had to fall back on CPU and RAM, but use the CPU does get it handles no problem. I am impressed how cool it stays with low use. Fan comes with grease applied and is more than adequate for a little overclocking.

Cons: A little pricey, but It seems worth it.

Overall Review: This is my first Intel; I've used only AMD up to now. Intel CPUs are easier to install than AMD ones.

5 out of 5 eggsBest bang for the buck

Pros: In my opinion this chip offers the best bang for the buck in terms of cost for performance (with the exception of maybe unlocked processors)

Cons: Not unlocked

5 out of 5 eggsA bit blown away

Pros: -Fast
-Doesn't run very hot under moderate to heavy load
-Doesn't stutter under same load
-No dropped frames in games

Cons: None I can think of

Overall Review: I upgraded from an old AMD phenom II X4, and the difference is day and night. This is my first intel rig, so I can't speak to if it's improved over previous version or to what degree, but I could not be more satisfied with the performance of this chip. A few days after getting it I remember playing a game, having a music video play in the background, and having so many things open in the background, then realized that there wasn't any performance indication that I was doing ten things at once. That was a new experience for me.

I'll quit blowing intel, but I really am surprised at how much this thing runs like a champ.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Efficient and stable Haswell core. Better value than most AMD FX cpu's now, and most of the performance of a similar i7. Runs every game I can throw at it maxed out, pairs very nicely with my 660Ti.

Cons: Minor annoyance: Intel's push pins on HSF.

Overall Review: I switched from an AMD Phenom II X4 940 after skipping many CPU generations and being dissatisfied with newer AMD's. I couldn't really spring for the 4770, but performance is games was close enough not to matter for me.

5 out of 5 eggsworking as intended

Pros: Worked out of the box, no issues. Paired this with an ASRock mini-itx board and a Nvidia GTX 970, no problems to report and the system feels balanced. It does not seem as either product is bottle necking the other. Temps are fine with an aftermarket cooler. Did not try the stock fan, we all know better.

Cons: none so far

Overall Review: I think that companies should just sell chips with no coolers. I believe that there are some out there, but most chips come with one. Seems like a waste of money they could spend on something else.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat and runs Cool

Pros: This CPU is really great. I wanted a low power but high performance CPU for development, gaming, and normal computer use. This i5 really delivered. It runs lots of applications at once with no problem. Start-up takes less than 45 seconds. When it comes to gaming, it didn't let down either. It ran high CPU intensity games like Planetside 2 and KSP while keeping framerate drops to a minimum. All of this while only using 84 W and never going above 55 degrees with the stock cooler.

Cons: It's pricey, but you get what you pay for.

Overall Review: Overall, I recommend this CPU for a heavy user who doesn't want to blow $500 on an i7.

5 out of 5 eggsCheap Beasty

Pros: This thing is a low cost beast. I can't slow it down gaming, and it runs cool and quiet. My gaming rig is a mini-itx box, so overclocking wasn't a priority when I chose this, and I can honestly say there's no need to OC.

Cons: None. At first I thought the included HS/Fan was seriously deficient looking, but I've NEVER had it throttle.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks well

Pros: Nice speedy processor. I use it in a computer as a media server, as well as use it for calculations. The on-chip video worked on Ubuntu 12.04 with no problem. Hopefully AMD will catch up, but right now I like the speed relative to power consumption of Intel.

Cons: Had to update to kernel 3.8 for HDMI audio (this is well documented). Shouldn't be a problem with Ubuntu 14.04 and probably not a problem for Windows.

5 out of 5 eggsi7 is overrated

Pros: I just built a nice little rig for doing 3D work in Cinema 4D and audio recording in Ableton Live. So far it's been smooth sailing. The i5 seems to be almost every bit as capable as an i7, for a whole lot less moola. I was worried I would not be happy with the performance compared to my 6-core i7 rig at work, and granted it's obviously not as far as that, but it sure is close. For every day things there is no noticeable difference. Windows 8 is as smooth as butter. It's only when I'm rendering a scene with 2 million polygons with Global Illumination and Ambient Occlusion that it chugs a little. Definitely a happy camper here. The cost vs performance on this chip is great. Save some dough and go for the i5 unless you absolutely need the best of the best.

Cons: obviously not as fast as an i7, though it's closer than you might think. You need to buy a 3rd-party heat sink, the one included with this chip is dinky and I would not trust it to do the job if you plan to do anything more intense than web browsing.

Overall Review: I always thought I'd go for an i7 for my next build until I did the research and found out that the cost vs performance is just so much better with an i5. Like I said I really don't notice that much of a difference unless I'm really pushing it inside Cinema 4D. Unless you just gotta have the best, this CPU is a good call.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat for everybody who uses their computer.

Pros: Great processing power, runs everything reaaallllyyyy smoothly (Ultra High settings on Crysis 2 at a 1280x1024 w/ XFX HD Radeon 7870 1GB OC Edition and running a second monitor) hardly even at 100% CPU usage on any one core during intense firefights. Great power consumption management. Worth the $200 if you do anything that requires any smidgen of processing power.

Cons: Heatsink is cheap, poor thermal conductivity w/ stock paste, overall, subpar cooling. A competitor's older processor, (*cough**cough* AMD Athlon x II *cough*) keeps temps under 60 degrees C with stock cooler and paste! I had a hard time keeping this i5's temps under 75 with the stock paste, and after new paste, keeping temps under 60 is still tough. I'm going to replace stock cooler as soon as I can.

Overall Review: Before new thermal paste, load temps were around 61-69 degrees C. After installing new thermal paste, load temps hover around 55 - 63. I still don't like them that hot, however, I'm told those temps are normal for Intel's Core series processors.

5 out of 5 eggsWell worth the money

Pros: Very snappy and runs quite cool. Installation was a breeze and configuration with my mobo was just as easy. Intel has really outdone themselves.

Cons: "Meh" stock cooler for gaming, its good for office work or a personal computer, but I suggest getting a separate cooler (I have an Artic Freezer 7 Pro) for gaming and especially overclocking.

IntelBurnTest maxed out the temp of my CPU with my Artic cooler at 60C, it idles around 25C

Overall Review: Excellent for a first time build like me, and it'll save you money in the long run with any of the 4th gens. If you have a LGA1150 mobo, you can upgrade to a 5th gen in the future saving you lotsa moola.

5 out of 5 eggsFast, good price point

Pros: This is a great "bang for the buck" processor near the high end. The i5's are IMO the best value processors to begin with. Hyper Threading has always been sketchy as to real practical value and that's all the more expensive i7's offer. This i5 runs just 200 MHz slower than the more expensive 4670 and it's twenty to forty bucks cheaper depending on if you want the unlocked version. Amazingly cool and quiet in operation. Using the stock cooler in a well ventilated Micro ATX case, temps run under 20 degree Celsius just doing everyday things. Ran Prime 95 stress test for six hours and temps ran 38-42 Celsius.

Cons: None really. I could always wish it was cheaper.

Overall Review: I used to overclock. I used to love to overclock. There is really no reason to now. It's blazing fast, it already has a turbo mode when needed. So why spend more money on an unlocked CPU, an enthusiast board, higher electric bills and loud fans just to do what - run maybe 400 MHz faster all the time than what this runs in turbo mode as needed?

4 out of 5 eggsnice upgrade

Pros: Fast and huge upgrade from my previous amd processor seems to oddly run faster then the speed it says it runs at but hey no complaints here.

Cons: can be over clocked ( not counting that towards the review since i already knew this.) and the heat sink sucks didn't mind spending a little extra to get a good heat sink but at $200 would it really be that hard for intel to package a decent heat sink.

Overall Review: depending on you knowledge of computers i would honestly recommend getting the more expensive 4670(i think) it can be overclocked and will give you more bang for you buck in the long run. this isn't a bad processor at all and if you money is tight or you don't have much knowledge in things like overclocking then i say go with this but i'd wait for it to go on sale or for intel to drop the price a little

3 out of 5 eggsQuality Product - not builder friendly

Pros: Solid CPU for almost all applications. Performance across most workloads is good and unless you have a specialized use or wish to have "The Fastest", then this chip should suit you for a couple years.

Cons: Non-unlocked CPUs are an obvious money grubbing scheme by Intel. Something that wouldn't happen if they had a direct competitor in the high end market. Its one thing to tier price and performance with the same architecture for ease of development and ROI, but then attaching a premium still just to have an unlocked CPU is not friendly to customers.

3 Eggs is a reflection of how I feel as a customer of Intel, not a reflection of this product. I think even if the product is good, if you feel cheated that should count as well.

Overall Review: I do get angry when Intel treats customers like an ATM, without keeping innovation moving at an acceptable pace. Due notice Intel, I remember the Pentium 4 and what it felt like to have a monopoly then, and I am starting to feel like that now. Keep it up, because if AMD figures out APUs they will have at least one new customer.

Pros: No issues with this and its been several years. Still keeps up with any game on the market.

Cons: Not the fastest CPU for workstations, but decent in every gaming aspect.

4 out of 5 eggsBudget build in 2013, still doing the work

Pros: I put this processor in my first-ever build in 2013 - a relative budget pc gaming build of under $650. Got it for $185 back then. It's been doing great since - No issues whatsoever. I recently upgraded to a 1060 card (from a gtx 650ti) and the cpu is still just barely holding the pc back. I get a solid 60fps on most games at high specs - ultra on most pre-2015 games.

Cons: These days it's probably not worth the $200 it still seems to be listed at. You can probably get the unlocked version, or a faster chip for about the same.

Overall Review: BUT if you are on a budget, have a lga1150 socket mobo, AND if it is $180 or less it might be worth it. It's a sweet cpu, but it is old (technology-wise) and hasn't come down in price apparently. No complaints, but time marches on.

5 out of 5 eggsJust fantastic

Pros: I bought this years ago. It's kicking (Censored) still today in everything I throw at it.
I had to put an evo 212 on it and re apply thermal paste as it got older to help with tempetures, but now it's running even better than when it was new.

Cons: This is not a K model so no overclocking, and there are newer CPUs out that utilize DDR4 ram and such.
This CPU is great if you already own it, but there are better more future proof options today like the 6600k.

Pros: Awesome chip. Great for a budget gaming computer.

Cons: Not the fastest. 7.6 on windows exp index.

5 out of 5 eggsPerformance/$=great

Pros: Intel quality.
With my gtx 970, it runs most of my games at ultra with little to no hiccups.
No notable performance dips when under heavy load.(Heavy load to me = 10+ tabs on Firefox, Pandora, OBS, and Battlefield 4 at ultra.)
Relatively cheap, especially if on sale.

Cons: Can get a little hot (60 - 70 degrees Celsius) when under load W/o an after market cooler.

5 out of 5 eggsBetter then I expected

Pros: -Fast (faster then I was expecting for a dual-quad core)
-Not a power hog compared to my AMD cpu's I have in the past.

Cons: None as of yet, has meet all expectations.

5 out of 5 eggsGood Processor!

Pros: So far this i5 has done me well, very responsive, always cool (using the stock fan that came with it), nice and quick for my purposes. It runs well with my 2GB Sapphire GPU, as well. Haven't tried editing video using this yet, but I will and maybe update...

Cons: nada.

Overall Review: w00t.

5 out of 5 eggsFast CPU

Pros: FAST, with the price tag that beats slower CPU,s. Go with the Haswell series! Good excuse to upgrade your Mobo. May I suggest the the Biostar Hi Fi Z87 board. Quality board at a price you cant beat. Also would suggest the Avexir ram. Again best quality for the price.

5 out of 5 eggsFast

Pros: I purchased this because I wasn't planning to overclock. With the factory clock speed this processor is plenty fast. Navigating windows is extremely quick and so is start up and gaming. It runs at 40C with an aftermarket heat sink.

Cons: None

5 out of 5 eggsSolid.

Pros: Haven't done much load-wise with it, but it worked great and my dad's happy with the boost from an old Q6600.

Runs really cool on air.

Cons: None yet.

Cost? Though AMD isn't exactly making it hard for Intel to choose its own price structure...

Overall Review: Just buy it already. It's super solid.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Bought this for a new office machine to replace one that was 6+ years old, so we wanted something peppy that would last. Very quick performance, it never has to run at full speed for long. I'm using the stock cooler and for our purposes it's fine, but more taxing workloads would probably require aftermarket.

5 out of 5 eggsi5 4570

Pros: Upgrade from a AMD FX 4100 and wow what a difference, the games I play now default to higher settings and game play in general is much smoother.
This thing plough's through everything else I have thrown at it so far.
I overclocked this CPU to 3.4Ghz (same freq as the 4670K) on the stock heatsink and temps stay low 35 deg at idle.
I am also sure it would be loved to be pushed harder but I will wait till I upgrade my Heatsink for that.
Strange thing is the stock Heat Sink for this CPU has a copper center which I surprised at.

Cons: None yet

Overall Review: i5 - 4570 @ 3.4Ghz
Asrock Z87 Pro3
G.Skill 1600 - 8 Gb
EVGA 660 - 2 Gb
OCZ Agility 3 - 120 Gb
Corsair CX - 650W

5 out of 5 eggsWonderful transistion

Pros: At first I was skeptical about transitioning from AMD due to costs but I can honestly say I am glad I made the transition. The installation was easy and so far this has been the smoothest running processor that I have ever owned.

Cons: None so far

5 out of 5 eggsFirst Build

Pros: I used this processor for my first build ever. I have been running it with no problems. I am also running it with a separate graphics card, so for the on-chip graphics I can not really criticize for. I will say though that I have been running games on at least high settings and I have had no lag with both the integrated graphics and my GTX 660 SC. If you will just be using this for gaming and every day computer use, I recommend this processor a lot.

Cons: Not for overclocking, but you probably already knew that.

1 out of 5 eggsCurrently no point to purchase

Pros: It's a fine processor. No real performance complaints.

Cons: For the same price you can get this processors revision, the i5 4590.

At the current price level there is no reason to get this over the i5-4590 - they are the same price.

Overall Review: Unless the price of this goes down or the 4590 is out of stock there is currently no reason to purchase this CPU.

Pros: Can run Bf4, Bf3, COD ghosts, dayz standalone and heavily modded minecraft with shaders at full settings with no lag at all.

5 out of 5 eggsSuper fast

Pros: No bottlenecks here.

Cons: Wasn't free

Overall Review: For Battlefield 4 I was really worried if this processor would be fast enough, but I was on a budget. Upgraded from AMD Phenom II X3 720. Boy was I pleasantly surprised! This thing is awesome, it's like my nVidia 560Ti has a whole new lease on life. SO MUCH FASTER! Glad I saved the money and got this i5 instead of i7... now I have more money for a better GPU. I don't see this CPU running out of headroom anytime soon.

5 out of 5 eggs9 months and still no issues

Pros: I mostly use this computer for games, and has been a League of Legends machine for the most part. I've had zero lag problems coming from the computer itself other than a bent pin issue, but after having the motherboard replaced this CPU works like a charm.

Cons: Not the fastest processor that money can buy.

4 out of 5 eggsLEGIT

Pros: Fast, Great integrated graphics, flawless performance.

Cons: PRICE, still a little pricey at $200. But a definite compromise over the 4670 or i7's.

Overall Review: FAST! No issues, easy install. And the Integrated Graphics are TOP notch. I play World of Warcraft on ULTRA settings and low as 40 upto as high as 105 FPS. with NO graphics card. For people who want an intel gaming system who dont want to spend an extra $40 for the 4670 or k series, this is a great choice.

5 out of 5 eggsSweet

Pros: This processor runs fast and cool. Great upgrade over my old Core 2 Duo. Runs in a mini itx case with stock fan at great temperatures. I haven't tried overclocking.

Cons: None. I can't run games at the highest possible settings, but that is more of an issue with my low profile video card than the processor. I'm more than happy with what this mini pc can do.

Overall Review: Built a mini itx pc for my entertainment room TV that can stream Netflix, play Blu Rays and play games. Runs everything very well.

System:
Processor: Intel i5 4570
Motherboard: ASRock B85M-ITX
V Card: Sapphire Radeon 7750 low profile
Ram: Vulcan 8 GB
Hard Drive: Kingston 120 GB SSD
Case: IN WIN IW-BP655.300TBL Black Mini-ITX

4 out of 5 eggsSolid chip for gaming

Pros: In my opinion there is no reason to have any other chip for your standard gaming machine. Sure it isn't the best or the brightest, but any savings you make on grabbing this CPU instead of one of the upgrades can be spent on the GPU.

Cons: When I came to leave this review I found out that they are now giving away a free game with it, missed it by hours. So my only Con is that this great card didn't come with free stuff

3 out of 5 eggsGPU Driver Needs Work

Pros: This is an update to a prior review

Cons: Intel's latest driver 15.31.9.64.3165 for the HD 4600 GPU still needs work. Installed this on an ASUS Gryphon Z87 MB and ASUS has a newer driver posted, which improved things, but still get occasional BSOD "system restarted". WinDbg points to the graphics driver. Many other folks listing problems on the web.

Overall Review: If you are using an add in GPU than it's probably not going to be an issue, but if using the built in HD4600,expect some issues. Come on Intel, put a real cooler with this CPU and spend some time getting the drivers right!!!!!!

5 out of 5 eggsWorks Great!

Pros: Easy Instalation, Runs anything I need it to

Cons: Easy Instalation, Runs anything I need it to

Overall Review: I used this processor on my first build. I was going to buy the i5-4670K but because I'm not overclocking and it's only 0.1 GHz faster, it's not worth the extra money personally.

5 out of 5 eggsBuy quality get quality

Pros: Built for 24/7 video recording. Intel i5 4570, Gigabyte GA-Z87X UD3H LGA 1150, 8 GB (2x4) Corsair Vengeance. No issues from opening the packages thru all the setup. Running systems for 6 months. Heavy load software and still maintain low CPU percentages.

Cons: I didn't get to keep it. Was for someone else.

5 out of 5 eggsIntel put AMD to shame

Pros: It runs everything on ultra setting using Nvidia GTX 650 Ti Boost 2GB @ 1680x1050p with FXAA & 16xAF. Quick Sync encoding is great, beat Nvidia Cuda by a mile in both speed & image.

Cons: None, I didn't want to get a i7 because a i5 do everything I want for less & the K series is nice but I don't need it since 3.6ghz Turbo core is all I need.

Overall Review: When you going to buy a CPU, make sure it's Intel. it may cost more but you get more in return. AMD may be cheap but don't let it fool you. this CPU beat the very best of AMD top of the line FX CPU & use way less power & heat.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat CPU

Pros: Very powerful quad, runs cool and quiet. No need for anything over the stock cooler.
This CPU at 3.6ghz is going to be about the same performance as a 2500k at 4ghz.

Cons: not a K model to overclock? Knew that when buying it so no eggs dropped.

Overall Review: Turned off power saving features and it runs at a solid 3.6ghz at 1.07v. Runs plenty cool on the stock cooler maxxing around 67c fully loaded.
