5 out of 5 eggsNewegg + Asrock = WIN

Pros: Newegg processed my rma in what seemed like minutes after i received a doa board. Barely paid any shipping using a usps priority box.

It's an 80-90$ motherboard that does essentially all the same stuff as the 150-200$ ones.

Easy to use bios ,very easy to install, and great overclocking utilities for beginners!

I will never buy another motherboard brand after this, i am truly impressed as i thought i would never shy away from asus.

Cons: A whole bunch of garbage programs i had to either uninstall or delete manually.

There is supposed to be a way to choose what's installed but i tried twice and it installed them all BOTH times. Zynga game shortcut? GTFO.

Other Thoughts: Perfect for us mid grade techies at an UNBEATABLE price.... and if its doa you know newegg will make everything better. rest assured.

4 out of 5 eggsPotential issue with FX

Pros: Great features, low price, nice VRM heat spreaders, great BIOS, reliable, great overclocker, and even looks good. My first 970 Extreme3 was perfect and I'm writing this on that very computer. My Phenom II 960T is overclocked +1Ghz and is completely stable. I couldn't ask for more - this motherboard has been excellent.

Cons: The second 970 Extreme3 I worked with had minor issues. Instead of a Phenom II, this time I was installing an FX-4100. Gave the beep code "processor error" then was having trouble with occasional disk read errors. Interesting thing is, I successfully installed Windows 7 64-bit and the processor tested stable with IntelBurnTest!

I went ahead and flashed BIOS, which briefly stopped the error code and all seemed well. Later that evening, it went right back to giving the "processor error" beep code with every startup. BUT NO SYMPTOMS. My friend for whom I built this computer actually removed the mobo speaker and decided to ignore it. No problems yet. I'm still worried, but he's gaming away on his new computer without a single issue.

Other Thoughts: In my computer with the Phenom II, this motherboard is angelic. In my friend's computer with the FX, it gives the error code with each boot but otherwise functions perfectly. Not sure what the issue is. It could become a problem sometime in the future, it might also never cause any problems. Don't know for sure.

In my system, this motherboard is superb.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat MOBO

Pros: Great MOBO. Nice options and interface, love all of the Fan connectors. I think there was (2) for CPU and 4 for other fans, all controllable through the motherboard. Worked with my FX 6100 + 8GB 1866 ram with 0 issues.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: - DiabloTek Evo Mid-Tower / Corsair 600-watt PSU
- AMD 6100 FX / 8GB Gskill Sniper Ram / HIS Radeon HD 6770 / 1TB HDD + 60gb SSD

5 out of 5 eggsESX -Whitebox

Pros: -Works well with vSphere 5 and running embedded ESX servers.
-The Onboard NIC works vSphere 5
-PCI-E slots for Intel NICs
-Device Pass thru is supported (not using)
-Supports up to 32GB of RAM. (ONLY have 16GB)

Cheaper White Box Solution for vSphere than Intel suppoted Motherboard

Cons: -FT doesn't work. No a board problem. AMD consumer proc doesn't support FT only opteron proccessor

Other Thoughts: I needed to setup a home lab for vSphere 5

I knew I was not going to be hosting high performance workloads. CPU wasn't going to be a bottle neck I looked at the cheaper Intel processors and it really came down to price and the amount of cores. The lack of FT wasn't a deal breaker for me. I've depolyed FT at work in Vsphere 4

I decided to spend more money on NAS box with some SSDs. Having strong storage was more important.

I've had no issues with this board and it works fine for vSphere 5 with a small limitation on FT. One note when booting ESXi off a usbkey, you loose 4GB of RAM due to the RAM disk ESXi creates in memory at boot. This is by design

System is running like a champ and rocks Skyrim and other 3D intensive games on high graphics settings like clockwork =)

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing...

Pros: I've been building PCs for 10+ years. This was by far the easiest build I've ever done. I bought this for $80 along with the $60 AMD Phenom II x3 720 BE, 2 x 4GB Corsair Vengeance CAS 9 RAM for $40, and a cheap $10 GELID Siberian HSF. I put everything together and within 10 minutes, my computer was up and running with PC 1600 RAM (with a quick bios setting changed from 1333). An AMD Phenom II X4 20 (unlocked 4th core, using the UCC in the UEFI BIOS) @ 3.2Ghz running solid for 6 hours on prime95 with no errors, and an operating temp from 35°c - 45°c.

Cons: I haven't run in to any, this setup was a retro fit in to my old RaidMAX Ninja ATX case.

Other Thoughts: I used an older 500GB WD HDD, and it's slowing my PC down a little, as it's the lowest score on my Win7 Experience @ 5.9. I also have an older GeForce 8800GT 256MB card in the PCI x16 slot, however it's scores are a little higher at 6.8 for both graphics and gaming. The CPU and Ram scored 7.4 and 7.5 respectively. I can't wait to finish the build with a 120GB OCZ Vertex SSD, and an AMD Radeon XFX 6850 BE to complete my mid-level gaming setup.

5 out of 5 eggsGood Motherboard

Pros: Cheap, Great Features. I don't think you can buy a better AM3+ Motherboard for such a low price. If you want bang for you buck this is it.

Also has a great BIOS

Cons: Board is thin and it only has 1 PCIEx 16 but if you research it and you're planning to Xfire with 1 PICEx 16 and 1 PICEx 8 the difference is negligable. It's like a Prius driving down a highway with the speed limit of 250.... The Prius can't go that fast anyway. The Video Card is your Prius and the bandwidth of PCIEx8 is the 250 MPH Hwy

Other Thoughts: Best bang for your buck out there.

5 out of 5 eggsDecent board.

Pros: Decent features. Will work with FX-XXXX CPUs out of the box with no Firmware flash. CrossFireX, allows a good amount of overclocking. Has UEFI, USB 3.0, eSATA/SATA 6.0Gbps), plenty of options. Allows 32GB RAM. Lots of ports.

Cons: Not run into them. Also as robert mentioned, turn off the features that allow CPU energy savings as if you overclock, it will throttle the CPU. also, don't use ASRock's overclocking app. do it in the bios. Fiddle with it. ASRock's app kept reseting the CPU's speed, even with the energy saving features off. I kept having to bump it up. Once I i uninstalled, I got my FX-4100 to stay at 4.5Ghz

Other Thoughts: I am running an FX-4100 in this with 8GB TeamSkill RAM. the board runs well, supports EFI with Windows 7 (created the partition) although my RAM didn't overclock well (it performed worse when it did). If you have issues overclocking with it, I would throw out the ASRock Tuner, it keeps messing up the settings even if you do it in the Firmware interface. Also, sometimes it's pick with USB keyboards. even with legacy support and being on USB 2.0 ports, it would sometimes boot without recognizing the keyboard for BIOS entry. I would say it's a good buy and I don't regret it

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Board

Pros: I bought this for an FX-8120 single gfx card gaming rid and it has performed flawlessly. Works right out of the box with Bulldozer chips, no BIOS flash needed. Amazing price, lots of connections and great placement of them on the board. Onboard audio works great and lots of OC control within the bios.

Cons: The board is a bit thin for an ATX case and misses all screws on the right side. Not too big of a deal, just make sure you support the board with your hand when plugging in connections. UEFI Bios doesn't work with my Logitech G5 USB mouse so I'm resorting to arrow keys.

Other Thoughts: Overall great board if you're building a gaming rig with a single gfx card.

AMD FX-8120 3.1GHz
MSI Hawk GeForce GTX 460
8GB G.Skill Sniper DDR3 1600
SanDisk Ultra 120GB SSD
