Question 1

How can I be certain that this will work with my ASUS F55U series laptop?  It has only one RAM slot, which is currently occupied by a 4GB card.

There appears to be almost no information on the max memory for this laptop.  From the AMD processor site to the actual Asus F55U manual it was a wash.  The only site that listed maximum installable ram was outlet PC dot com (newegg won't let me put the link in becaues they're make of little kittens) and it says 4gb max.  It's a little sad because I'm running a lenovo with the AMD A6 and even though it has a single ram slot win8 64bit performes much better with an 8gb stick than it did with 4gb that came with the laptop.

will it work with the asus g750jh laptop?

The specifications are the same so it should work. Crucial memory is very good and less prone to compatibility issues. Keep in mind that the laptop in question has only 2 memory slots. Check and make sure Asus filled only 1 slot with a chip so you can add this one. Traditionally a manufacturer will fill both slots. (2X4=8gb) My last Asus had only 1 slot filled so I could add additional memory without removing the existing module. Hope this helps.

Any increase to your memory  can help speed you up. I used it on an HP laptop. It helped a lot. I have used Crucial in the past and like their product. Make sure it is a DDR3 and verify the slot line up as you will incur a restock fee if it does not fit.

I have a HP pavilion G7 Laptop. Will this 8GB chip fit my computer?

Crucial has a great Memory Tool Advisor(tm) to determine compatibility with systems. There are dozens and dozens of HP Pavilion G7 models so it is hard to say for sure until you check specifically for your model.
