5 out of 5 eggsFast

Pros: Nothing like turning on your computer being able to actually use it within seconds of hitting the power button on your tower.

Cons: Nothing yet and it's been a minute.

Other Thoughts: I will be glad when the prices go down for the bigger ones.

5 out of 5 eggsBought it cheap

Pros: Not even one problem for in 4 days I have ran it constantly in a Dell inspiron I3 notebook. This thing changed this Hyper Threading notebook running Win7ult into a Hyper up and running machine I don't have to wait on. I bought it on a shell shocker at 113.98 shipped. Even at the going price it is worth every penny. New Egg fast shipping and excellent service.

Cons: I have heard some say not compatible with Win 10, don't forget all OS start out with problems, so don't count this drive out in the long run. Not upgrading to Win 10 right now might be a blessing.

Other Thoughts: installed in a Dell Inspiron N5050 I3 2350M 6gig ram intel HD graphics 3000

Window 7 ultimate windows experience

processor ........... 6.7
memory................ 7.3
graphics................5.8
gaming graphics 6.2
hard disk ............. 7.9

5.8 overall due to graphics in notebook

On windows 10
Could be Crucial may rescue this with a bios update for the drive. Still a very good SSD.

1 out of 5 eggsWill never buy crucial again

Pros: fast

Cons: Can't upgrade to Windows 10.
Is not recognized

Other Thoughts: I have been using this drive in my Asus Q501LA for over a year now with Windows 7 installed without issue. I never liked Windows 8 so I didn't even consider it. Well I decided to upgrade to Windows 10 and come to find out, this drive is not recognized by the installer. I've tried literally everything from formatting to BIOS settings. Nothing. Upon further research I found out that many other people with the same and different machines are experiencing the same thing. Thanks to crucial I cannot upgrade my OS. Bottom line: Do not buy a crucial SSD.

5 out of 5 eggsCrucial M500

Pros: The Crucial M500 is a good performance/value SSD. The read speeds are great, and the write speed is good, but not as good as other, more expensive, SSDs. The 4 KB random read and write have decent IOPS. Three year warranty is reasonable. Supports hardware data encryption.

Cons: The MLC with Marvell controller implemented with this drive is not as fast as other mainstream drives (e.g. Samsung EVO/PRO), so in benchmarks this is not as good as some other SSDs, but in normal usage it would be difficult to notice.

4 out of 5 eggsworking well so far

Pros: no problems with install that I can recall, good performance for the price

Cons: none yet

Other Thoughts: configured as my OS drive, this is probably the best $180 i've ever spent on a computer, dating back to the late '80s

5 out of 5 eggsIt works. It's an SSD

Pros: Boots Windows in a timely manner. Loads applications the same way.

Cons: Doesn't make quantum portals.

Other Thoughts: 240 GB in a gaming rig is really tight. I may have to reclaim my HDD for installing less important games and applications.

5 out of 5 eggsDrive is working great

Pros: Everything installed fine. It didn't need to have a firmware to run correctly. I'm not saying there isn't a firmware update out there for this drive but it didn't have to have one. Speeds are as listed on my
Killer X99X board and I'm very pleased with the performance.
Price was good shipping was fast. I always get great results with Newegg

5 out of 5 eggsGood, solid SSD

Pros: Crucial is a trusted name brand and does not disappoint with this SSD. Windows installation when quickly and flawlessly. Booted extremely fast, until Windows was updated. File transfer speeds are excellent for the price. Does not heat up.

Cons: Boot time increased dramatically once software was loaded onto it. Boot times went from less than 15 seconds to more than a full minute after updates.

Does NOT come with a SATA cord. Would have been nice if it had.

Other Thoughts: Good bang for buck. Not the fastest drive out there, but not the most expensive either. If you are not looking for anything fancy, and just want a reliable SSD, this may be the one for you!
