5 out of 5 eggsGreat reliable SSD

Pros: Fast and reliable.
I've bought and deployed 8 of these over 2 years, all 3 crucials that I bought are still working fine.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Bought this on newegg black friday deal. Super deal.

5 out of 5 eggsSatisfied

Pros: No complaints. This drive helps contribute to a reasonably quick desktop. My Win10 machine boots in approximately 25-30 seconds.

Cons: The price to capacity ratio is a little more disappointing with SSD's, but that's to be expected.

1 out of 5 eggsBad Drive, Bad Customer Service

Pros: The replacement drive seems to be operating O.K.

Cons: The drive died after first attempt to partition. Crucial then charged the replacement to someone else's account. I had to untangle their mess for them.

5 out of 5 eggsReview for Crucial M500 240GB SSD

Pros: Crucial - good brand name
SATA III connection
Solid build
Fast SSD with 240GB (I only got 234GB)
Got for a good price (at $85+tax)
Fits right into laptop
Super quiet, makes no noise at all (durh, because no moving parts!)

Cons: Doesn't come with Bracket mounts for PC, but can be purchased separately, not really a con
I always gripe how we NEVER get the full 240GB, instead I got 234GB...

Other Thoughts: Overall, this is a great budget SSD to buy. Windows loads faster, games load faster, and transfer speeds are blazing! Literally, drop into my laptop, loaded Windows 7 and installed necessary drivers in less than 20 min.

I would have to highly recommend this product for the price vs GB ratio and how reliable its proved to be so far. I use the laptop daily and it hasn't done me wrong yet. I've used it for about 2 months now and it's still going strong!

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome SSD for the price

Pros: This is a considerable SSD, especially for the price! I use this SSD for my games, and it has multiplied my experience with gaming. I would recommend.

Cons: No bracket.

Other Thoughts: I got this on sale for 80$

5 out of 5 eggsFast and cheap

1 out of 5 eggsDied after a month

Pros: Fast - boots to desktop in less than 20 seconds..

Cons: Died only days after the 30-day RMA. I guess you get what you pay for.

Other Thoughts: I was playing an older game (Dragon Age: Origins) for 1 hour then I shut down the computer like I normally do to eat lunch. After eating when I turned it on it's just going straight to BIOS and it wouldn't detect the drive. I tried different power supply cables & ports, different SATA cables & ports, even tried an older hard drive and it gets detected just fine.

I bought this for around $80 and it seems this is the reason why this was on sale. I've been hearing great things with Crucial but with this experience I'm not too sure.

If anyone wants to build a new computer I would tell you right now to stay away from this drive - you can probably buy new versions that have more reliable features, but for me I would probably switch to Intel..

4 out of 5 eggsWhen you absolutely want to waste a weekend

Pros: These drives on their own are quite reliable and do a fine job. I purchased a second just to make myself a raid.

Cons: I wasted an entire weekend trying to make these work on an AMD platform. 885 no go. 970 no go. 990 no go. I don't think I have ever been so frustrated with setting up a system.

Other Thoughts: The drives do work well, unless you actually want to use them in a raid on an AMD system board. I was able to build a raid 0 in an older Intel based laptop with no problem.
