Actually it's only 1 piece. That's why I bought this. 8GB is working great for my needs (mid range gaming plus remote PC support) but I have 3 slots left over for future upgrade to beast mode.

I want to buy this 8gb to add to the memory I already have I have  "2" 4gb sticks same brand and settings. I cant afford to buy more than one stick right now due to funds and getting a graphic card at this time also. will the 8gm and the "2" 4gb work ok together?

You want at least the voltage and the memory speed to match, though you could work around it by putting them in the opposing slots (so not in two linked slots). However, you'll likely encounter performance issues or possible strange/unexplained problems stemming from programming shortcuts used by many system resource handlers which generally assume matching memory sticks.

I purchased an Intel I5-4670 LGA1150 processor, will these work with the 1150 and the Z87I motherboard?

The Memory will work just fine, but the speed of the MB is 3000 about double that of the ram, it will work but only at half its MB speed, if you do decide to get it, I would buy 2 4gig sticks so they will run in dual channel

is this Ram compatible with intel  LGA 1150?

compatibility has less to do with socket choice, and more to do with motherboard choice.  if motherboard is compatible with both, then you are fine.  I'm currently using 2 of these with a LGA 1155 motherboard and Intel i7 processor with great success.

will 3 8gb sticks for a totle of 24gb work for me? or are they only good in pairs? thank you!

They are better in pairs, but you can use 3 sticks for 24gb. It just won't be as effective. Spring one more if you can. It's a reliable stick though I have 2 and never an issue.

Question 6

I purchased this memory stick and now want to buy another.  I've heard that for memory to work properly, I need to buy them in matched sets.  IF I buy another one of these sticks, will it be a matched set with the one I already have?   Or do I need to buy two together that are sold in the same package?

Matched set only means matched settings - another of the same kind will be ok.  Even another of the same type from a different manufacturer is ok.

Also, if you purchase 2 of different settings that is ok with most of todays hardware too, they'll just both perform at the worse one's speeds.

Older hardware?  be more careful.

Im getting the 8 gb (2 x 4gb) 1600 with cas 8 and timing 8-8-8-24 (came with a combo)...would this be compatible? I hate to have to get another 2  4gb sticks and fill all my dimms up if i didnt need to.

When installing RAM, it is best practice to install identical speed RAM...however, so long as your board supports this RAM, it would be fine.

Is this a good card for gaming?

Well this is RAM not a "card" as in video card. It's also DDR3 which is old technology compared to DDR4 that has been out quite some time.

Will it still work for some gaming?...Yes but I wouldn't recommend building a DDR3 based PC at this time. Save your money and do a proper DDR4 build.

Mixing RAM speeds is not recommended. The high end Ram stick will "DUMB DOWN"  to have a stable stream of data.
You will have better results by obtaining the same kind of RAm that you already own.

Will save $$$ ,  dont mind the flashy colors.

If you want a more substantial performance upgrade that you will actually notice, try changing to an SSD drive to run your OS.

In reality high end gaming & normal pc use doesnt require more than 8 gb at a time.

Processor & drive data speeds have a greater impact on performance.

If you are talking about the Inspiron 15 laptop series, no it will not. You will need to look up the exact model you have of this laptop series. After you do that you can look up the type of RAM that laptop uses. Then choose RAM based on that socket type, and how much your laptop's OS can handle.
