5 out of 5 eggsis a hard drive it works WD quality

This review is from: Western Digital WD Blue WD10EZEX 1TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Bare Drive

Pros: Well it is SATA 3 6.0gb it works as it should lots of space. It is a hard drive so there is a little spin up noise not more than to be expected.

Cons: Even though it is SATA 3 6GB it still only gets 5.9 WEI score. just like all the SATA 2 3GB drives.

5 out of 5 eggsno problems

This review is from: Western Digital WD Blue WD10EZEX 1TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Bare Drive

Pros: Works
Pretty quiet
Great Newegg packaging

Cons: Can get a little warm

Other Thoughts: Have several of these and all work as expected. I have always used WD blue and have yet to be disappointed.
You can hear them spin up in an otherwise silent PC but they are about as quiet as can be expected for a disc drive,

Newegg packaged it in a drop kick resistant custom air bag. Great idea and should really help cut down on shipping damage.

4 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: Western Digital WD Blue WD10EZEX 1TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Bare Drive

Pros: -1 TB
-Does what it needs to do

Cons: -Boot time is kind of slow (as expected of HDD)
-Transfer rate is kind of slow (also expected)
-Kind of loud at times (also expected)

Other Thoughts: For the price, I'd say this is a good Hard Drive. I'll be upgrading to an SSD, and will use this as a movie/music drive.

If you're building a computer and need a HD, get this one.

5 out of 5 eggsAnother good WD drive

This review is from: Western Digital WD Blue WD10EZEX 1TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Bare Drive

Pros: Dependable long term usage.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Loads quickly and runs silent. I have used several WD HDs over the years and I will never buy another. I recently replaced my 750g and 250g with this 1T drive, and my wife is now using the 750. When I pulled it, the 750 had 592 days, 18 hours of uptime. And it is still dependably delivering data.

1 out of 5 eggsJoke of a hard drive.

This review is from: Western Digital WD Blue WD10EZEX 1TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Bare Drive

Pros: None for me.

Cons: I got this hard drive in my new Dell XPS PC. I removed it the day after it arrived and installed an SSD. I reformatted this drive to use as back up storage in and external enclosure. I backed up hundreds of GB on it. It has hat on my desk not hooked up for almost the last year. I would bet it doesn't even have 30 days worth of power gone through it. Well I plugged it up tonight to update the drive and all I get is clicking.

I installed it in a different enclosure to make sure it is not the case. Still get clicking and it does not register with windows. I went to RMA it with Dell to find out my warranty just expired. I look up the drive here on newegg and it says it has a 2 year warranty. I went to WD page and entered the S/N and it says it has no warranty. I have had this drive for just over a year with almost zero use on it and it failed and has no warranty apparently.

This drive is utter junk.

Other Thoughts: It would appear I am one of the unlucky few who got the junk drives.

I have many years old Seagate's that still are working perfectly fine as other backup drives that rarely get used in the external enclosures.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Joe, please accept our apologies for any inconvenience you may have experienced. When Western Digital sells hard drives to OEM computer manufacturers such as Dell, Compaq, Apple, etc., the OEM computer manufacturer would include the hard drive under the warranty of the computer system that the hard drive was installed into, due to the fact that you did not purchase this device separately from WD directly.

1 out of 5 eggsDon't do it.

This review is from: Western Digital WD Blue WD10EZEX 1TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Bare Drive

Pros: It arrived quickly, and worked for almost three months.

Cons: It died. No reason at all. Worked earlier in the day, and came back to the computer later and it was dead. Thankfully it was my storage drive, so Windows was not on it and I have a backup image. I experienced so many errors when trying to RMA it, that I gave up and ordered a Seagate instead. Will never by WD again.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Ryan, we apologize for the inconvenience as this is not the typical experience with our warranty replacement.
