5 out of 5 eggsExcellet Remote

Pros: Excellent PS3 remote. I've owned this for 3 years now with now problems. All buttons work. Able to control my receiver and tv from the remote. Only maintenance is to replace the batteries and that is a non-event as the remote keeps the settings long enough for replacement.

Cons: none

5 out of 5 eggsWorks like a charm!

Pros: *Easy to set up
*Nice looking remote
*50 programmable buttons
*2 AA-batteries included (nice touch!)
*PlayStation 3 control works flawlessly

Cons: *None so far

Other Thoughts: This is my first universal remote, and I'm surprised! This things works out of the box. I've got a TV, a cable box, a sound bar and a PlayStation 3. I've set up the remote in 15 minutes! The learning feature allowed me to set a "perfect" remote control, so I do not have to change the device mode for a normal use of the devices.

Pretty nice, and the price is good!

4 out of 5 eggsFinally Free!

Pros: One Remote to RULE THEM ALL.
Seriously, keeping the the PS3 remote around b/c it wasn't IR is a major pain. Especially since pressing ANY BUTTON on that remote started up the PS3. What the hell was that about? With this remote, you can switch off the PS3 function, so no accidental start-ups!

Cons: Kind of cramped, it "forgets" what mode it's in after sitting a while. if you're pressing buttons & nothing's happening, look at the top of the remote. Chances are none of the device buttons is lighting up (the device keys light up when you press a function key). Press the device button you're trying to control and away you go.

Other Thoughts: No idea why this is just about the only thing on the market to do this, but I'm glad it does.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks great, cheap price + PS3 control

Pros: Far cheaper in price than other universal remotes but has added bluetooth functionality so it works with the PS3. And it works great. I stream a lot of media to my PS3 so get plenty of use out of this. The learning function also works like a charm. I've now got one remote for my TV, PS3, sound bar & DVR receiver. May not look as flashy as some $100 or more remotes but works just as well.

Cons: Some commenters have complained about how the buttons are laid out. They may have had an older model because I have not noticed any problems with the buttons. Seems fine. There were also complaints about the battery life. I can't comment on that yet but am considering buying a few rechargeable AA batteries since it's now my only remote.

5 out of 5 eggsGood remote

Pros: Handles my PS3, Samsung plasma TV, and cable DVR flawlessly. Easy to setup, but haven't tried custom programming yet. With how easy the initial setup went, I don't expect custom programming to be difficult.

Cons: Bluetooth radio does shutdown after a while so you have to wait for your command to go through to the PS3. Not annoying to me, I'd rather have that feature than to have to replace batteries.

Also, buttons could be more logically placed. Not a big deal, just have to get used to them.

No pre-programmed codes for a WDTV player, but I can probably program the custom commands in about 5-10 minutes.

Other Thoughts: My first universal remote, I'm not sure how I suffered for so long without one and I can't imagine going back! Very happy with the remote so far. I'm not sure how battery life will be but since the remote stores the set ups in non-volatile RAM, I don't care that much since it provides a ton more convenience than having 4 remotes to manage.

5 out of 5 eggsIF IT FREEZES REMOVE THE BATTERY!!

Pros: I (like others) had an amazing remote that controlled my tv, av receiver, and my ps3 with no issues. Then suddenly (about 1-2 weeks into use) it seemed to stop responding to all commands. I rma'd the remote and after the second one came in it worked fine....for about two weeks before "dying" on me again. before throwing the remote into the trash/out of the window I removed and replaced the batteries (same batteries) and the remote worked perfectly again!! It turns out that these just tend to freeze every now and then. After clearing the batteries two or three times I stopped having issues for the last few months.

Cons: The first two or three weeks.

Other Thoughts: I wish I knew this info before I spent the money rma'ing the first controller.

2 out of 5 eggsWorks ... when it wants

Pros: Nice all in one remote for my PS3 and TV

Cons: Stopped working a few months after I bought it, will constantly flash the lights at the top indicating that it either is losing it's connection or just will not work.

Other Thoughts: I would recommend shopping around first.

4 out of 5 eggsItem in picture NOT item you will receive...MUCH improved design compared to last year's.

Pros: ITEM IN PICTURE IS NOT THE ONE YOU WILL RECEIVE. THAT IS LAST YEAR'S MODEL AND IS NOT NEARLY AS WELL LAID OUT. Design is much improved, buttons larger, raised, higher more spaced out, more logical layout. Controls EVERYTHING, programmable through learning IR signals. Can be programmed to pretty much run however you want it to.

I find the claims re: Bluetooth not working and buttons not working questionable. You need to experiment with this sometimes especially with button controls because even if it seems you've used the correct code, you may not have and you may need to manually program the individual keys.

On the old version (which is where I think people were having Bluetooth issues), the Bluetooth could be buggy at first but it did eventually just work itself out. Sometimes that required removing and reinserting batteries for the first couple of days or relinking the devices, but it did eventually work consistently. That issue is non-existent now except as noted in "Co

Cons: Only supports a limited number of individually programmed keys so if you can use one of the preprogrammed master codes for your device, I would suggests this as it counts for one. I didn't because it assigns screwy button choices for my particular DVR. I do not know if you use a master code, if you can change individual keys on that master code. You couldn't on the last version of this remote but it's worth a shot

If you're watching a movie and you got bowl of popcorn, DO NOT use the keys with your greasy, buttery fingers. The ink printed dissolves and fades after being handled a couple of times with greasy fingers. Purell will solve the problem before it happens.

Can still get a little buggy IF you disconnect your PS3 from power without properly turning it off. PS3 controller may not work initially after power outage. SOLUTION: With PS3 on, remove one battery from remote, reinstall and you should be good to go. If not repeat process or re-link the two devices.

Other Thoughts: This is third one of these I've owned and the reason why is because between my toddler chewing off the rubber buttons on the first two and the fact that the very hard plastic leaves it susceptible to breaking.

The prior version suffered from several design flaws that seriously impeded its utility, especially in the dark. The biggest problem was the size and layout of the buttons. As noted in the picture (NOTE: the item IS NOT the version you will receive now, that is the old one). The buttons were all small, round, very low, very close together and for the most part all almost identical in size so it was very DIFFICULT to use the remote by "feel." You would find yourself often doing things like changing the channel when you attempted to hit the play button.

They have improved the buttons dramatically varying up the size and shape of them and relocating several buttons to logical positions. I could be wrong, but the new version actually feels more study than the last one.

3 out of 5 eggsgreat remote, half way

Pros: Controls everything I own. My tv is an off brand and none of the codes for it worked but the learning feature is awesome. Controls everything I have.

Cons: Bluetooth radio was broken when I received it so I am not able to use this to control my PS3. Called Blu-link and another one is on the way.

Other Thoughts: When I get my new one and it (hopefully) fully works this will be the greatest remote of all time.

5 out of 5 eggsOne Great! Remote

Pros: One Great remote .we’ll do all, from your PS3 to TV, DVD, sat/cab, amp. Even, old VCR. And if theirs no key to something that you use you can aim the remotes together and set a key and your set but for the most part all keys that wear on the old remote are on the remote and work great I love this remote

Cons: About the only thing I could say is the number key pad is a bit small and if you got large fingers you got take a little time to hit the right keys .one thing that may be nice if the company made a type key pad with all the PS3 games coming out and all the DVD’s that have Netflix it be nice to have a keyboard to do searches

Other Thoughts: I love this remote and would recommend to any one looking to have a all in one remote .it’s well made and Works!
