5 out of 5 eggshgst laptop drive

Pros: reliable drives, I've used a dozen or so of their drives over the years both 2.5 & 3.5 from 80GB to 1TB have never had a problem with any of them. All drive problems I've had over the years have been with Maxtor/Seagate. I highly recommend these over one of those brands.

Cons: haven't had one

5 out of 5 eggsGood bang for your buck

Pros: I purchased one for my PS3 over a year ago and the drive has been running without any problems. The speed is great and the size has been large enough to handle all of my DLC and PS-Plus downloads with hundreds of gigs to go. I imagine that this drive would also work just as well in a laptop.

Cons: None so far!

Other Thoughts: I just purchased a second for my PS4 since this drive is compatible with both systems and I have been very happy with the performance, so I decided to write a review about it.

2 out of 5 eggsI won't buy it again

Pros: fast.

Cons: After a couple of months, the disk starts making clicking sound. I'm a bit nervous since I have already put a lot of data in the disk.

Because of its high RPM, it consumes more battery power.

5 out of 5 eggsPerfect PS4 replacement drive

Pros: Fast 7200rpm and 32MB cache, SATA6 so its speedy, used this 9.5mm height for PS4 replacement , the ps4 has a 5400rpm 8m cache 500gig , this one blows it right away, fits perfect and is very fast in comparison to the original,, for normal laptop use it would be fast also as it is higher spindle speed than 90% of other 2.5" drives.

Cons: NONE

Other Thoughts: Price is right, not too much got it for 79 on a rebate special, with shipping it was 83.00 at the store it is about the same price, if your looking to update your PS4 or even a PS3 or a laptop, this is the perfect drive due to its high spindle speed 7200rpm, and 32MB cache and its a 1TB drive on a 9.5mm chassis, not the new 1tb drives that are 12mm high and don't fit in anything. go for it, its a good drive

5 out of 5 eggsGood

Pros: It went into my Playstation 4 replacing the 500GB 5400rpm drive, so far it's good and some games load a little faster.

Cons: Adds a little heat, otherwise none so far.

Other Thoughts: Going with a large capacity 7200rpm drive is more ideal than an expensive SSD for the PS4 since every disc you put into it installs the game anyhow and most games are reaching 40-50GB in size and my 2 week old PS4 already had ~100GB free left and I'm planning on getting a few titles this fall.

Don't bother with hybrid SSD/HDD drives, they're not worth it for the PS4.

5 out of 5 eggsExtremely fast

Pros: Very fast speeds, inexpensive.

Cons: None that I have found so far

Other Thoughts: I bought this drive to upgrade a Macbook Pro 2010 model after doing some research online. This drive is apparently one of the fastest conventional hard drives on the market for this price range. It had high ratings from Cnet and other similar companies. So far, I have found this drive to be just the boost in speed and space I needed.

Of course if you are looking for even faster speeds you have to buy a Solid State Drive, but those are still very expensive.

5 out of 5 eggsNice 1TB drives for PS3/PS4

Pros: Price
Size

Cons: None so far other then it's a retail box without any screws or tray. It could have just as easy been a bare bone drive.

Other Thoughts: Got 2, one for my PS3 and one for my PS4. Easy setup ad install. Didn't need any other equipment but a screw driver. Make sure you get the correct screw driver because the PS3/PS4 screws are sensative.

5 out of 5 eggsnice drive for notebook

Pros: lot cost. Relatively fast drive (excluding SSD).

Cons: Does not provide temperature sensor reading. Can't use in servers.

Other Thoughts: I bought this drive as a low cost replacement for HP's prohibitively expensive drive in my ML350 server. The SmartArray P410i can access the drive just fine. However, due to the missing temperature sensor reading, the system fan blow at full speed, just like jet took off. I had to swap it out immediately, then the server quiet down like mouse. I ended up put this drive into my wife's notebook and swap her notebook's old Seagate disk into ML350 server (due the 1G RAID card cache you can't even notice it is old slow drive), both machines worked out just fine in the end.

5 out of 5 eggsgreat so far

Pros: Price / performance / capacity ratio is good. No problems to report after about 4 months. The person I bought this hard drive usually has his laptop turned on 24/7 and doesn't move his laptop around since the battery is dead.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: I purchased this hard drive as an upgrade for someone's laptop. He asked for a 250 GB hard drive but after showing him the price difference between 250 GB and 1TB he wanted 1TB instead.

His old hard drive failed due to overheating because the he NEVER blew dust out of the laptop. There was a layer of dust on the heat sink that peeled off like felt. This is the second time I've dealt with a hard drive failure due to overheating from improper customer maintenance. I have since learned that using the possibility of hard drive failure is a much better incentive to get people to blow dust out of their computers than just using the word overheating.
