Received this from Newegg without anti static bag, and no seal on the plastic case it was shipped in, visible dust on units. Is this normal/acceptable?

Definitely not normal. I wouldn't accept it. Drives should be brand new and sealed from the manufacturer. NewEgg has been great to fix things for me in the past. Just contact them. (the main reason why they have a good name in the IT world) Mistakes happen, fixing them properly is key.

Can I use this with the MSI M7 even if its not listed in the Support section? I would think if the firmware didn't recognize I could update it but I'm looking for some confirmation. Thanks!

I used it as a secondary drive and it worked, you need to initialize the disk as GPT disk type.
