I do not know for sure, but I think that it should?  This is a standard-sized drive, so unless yours has a thin hard drive for some reason, it should work.  Fit perfectly in my MBP.

I am trying to replace a Toshiba MK5056GSY (discontinued) drive for my Sony Vaio. The recovery software requires that the drive is a 512 Sector type of drive. Is this comparable? Couldn't find any details in the Specification section.

As a consumer maybe I don't understand the question. I have never seen repair software require a 512 sector device. I did some research and it appears that newer hard drives are based on 4048 bytes per sector so for a 612 gb hard drive this would be approximately 512 gigabytes / 4048 bytes = 135?809?243 sectors. That doesn't say it is compatible but sector size typically grows as time goes on so sectors would increase as sectors size decrease for the same space. So my guess is the real limitation is having enough space to contain the total contents of the other drive. 512 gb hard drive for older discontinued PCs is typically going to be enough space. As larger tb hard drives are a were no to main stream a couple of years ago.

I bought this device and it did what it needed to do. I used it to replace a hard drive that was failing preventing the computer from completing its boot up process.

Yes, this will work with the PS4. at the moment you will need to find a firmware install online to put onto a USB drive. when you have that, install the HDD and plug in the usb and start the ps4, go into boot from usb and it will start downloading the ps4 firmware on the drive.

Should work fine. Any 2.5" SATA drive should be interchangeable. I use this as a laptop replacement drive with no issues.

Is this hard drive compatible with a Playstation 3? I contacted sony and they informed me that 500GB Laptop internal hard drives can be used but I am concerned about, RPM causing overheating, IDE or SATA interface, and IDE or ZIF connectors.
