3 out of 5 eggsGood Case. Missing brackets for dual radiator coolers...

This review is from: NZXT Phantom PHAN-001BK Black Steel / Plastic Enthusiast ATX Full Tower Computer Case

Pros: This is a good looking case with lots of room to work with. The fan controls are great. I love that it comes with filters for all the intake fan slots.

Cons: I was under the impression that this supported dual radiator liquid coolers out of the box. Mine didn't come with the brackets I needed to install it under the top exhaust fan. So I had to install my cooler the alternate way and remove the top exhaust fan (which I really didn't want to have to remove). I e-mailed NZXT support 3 weeks ago and haven't gotten a response.

Other Thoughts: Aside from the missing brackets and the bad support I would definitely recommend the case. I'd imagine most people wouldn't have the bad luck I did.

1 out of 5 eggsRegret- Update 4/8

This review is from: NZXT Phantom PHAN-001BK Black Steel / Plastic Enthusiast ATX Full Tower Computer Case

Pros: Looks cool and seems like a good deal. Really Good air flow and fan speed.

Cons: Cable management fails, the side panel fans (I added a 200mm one) you have to run across the case. So in order to work/clean your PC you would need to pull both side panels off. Also the CPU power does not have a bay for cable management, this means you are stringing your CPU power across the MB. Also the front fan is not 200mm it is small, I guess I should have read a little better before buying. The labeling on the fan controllers are not thought out very well also but that is not that big of a deal.

To fix this rating, add built in side fan cable routing around the frame of the case. Also add about 2cm of MB top clearance for a CPU power cable to route. update 4/8- Added a H100i v2 to the case, this only made my distaste grow more!!!! The only way to mount it is using 3 or the 4 holes in the middle top brackets. The holes did not line up, and because the above 2cm issue. The fans for the H100i v2 are right up on the RAM so I have about 2mm of space.

Other Thoughts: If you like having a clean looking build and not messy cables do not get this case. If you want a case for a basic work station for a fancy office or something, this is the one for you.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Case, I would say its the Cadillac of PC cases, higher price but comes with some good features, or Pros

This review is from: NZXT Phantom PHAN-001BK Black Steel / Plastic Enthusiast ATX Full Tower Computer Case

Pros: Includes millions of pouches of screws, of different lengths and sizes for Psus, Motherboard standoffs, fan installs so if you lose screws that came with your PSU or fans you wont be resorting to zip tie mounting your fans or something...

Includes case speaker. My corsair case didnt include one.. Good job NZXT!
Fan control is easy to understand and use, convenient and makes my pc not sound like a Jet Engine.
2 Included intakes on side panel, one included exhaust up top.
Case looks sharp, rather than like a black box.
Great ventilation
5 fan control headers so you could have 5 fans and not even need to use one of your Motherboard fan headers. Awesome!!
Fits the longest card I have, my 295x2
Fits NH D15.
Fits a Noctua NH D15 and a Radeon R9 295x2 Card AT THE SAME TIME. Wows.

Cons: My 2 side panel case fans were being finnicky with the fan control.
My USB 3.0 cable that runs to the top IO of the case cannot plug into my motherboard but my corsair one can, looked at it further and the holes are kinda blocked off or closed from the plastic. Could probably fix this with some needles or some stuff but that takes time.

Fan control headers where you plug the fans into are 3 pins! WHAT. I cant plug in any of the fans that I have at home. They couldnt do 4 like the motherboard that can work with 3 or 4 Pins?? Come on!!

Magnetic side panels are a nice touch but they arent magnetic all the way, just at the front corners that run vertically, ehh so its still kinda a pain to get my left one on.

Other Thoughts: Hm. To start, this NZXT Case came with a case speaker, which my corsair case didnt even come with one, shame on you corsair, every single screw that you could ever need, for PSUs, Mounting fans, Thumbscrews for securing the Graphics card by the back, and even a fan controller, which is pretty simple to use and understand. The fan controller on the top of the case has 5 switches, designed for each fan thats supposed to be installed, (2 intakes included on the side panel and one top exhaust) and has a blue light for each fan that is plugged into the 3Pin Input that runs to the fan controller, This is good and bad, For one I cant fan control Any fans I have such as my noctua, shame on me for getting a 4pin fan. And its good because this uses none of your motherboard's fan headers! My fan controller was being weird, the light for the 2 side intakes would switch off and off sometimes and you would hear the fans start to slowly speed up until the fan controller turned them back down, it was weird, but re plugging in the fans has fixed this. Really nice to be able to make my PC not that loud when im watching netflix, then when I want to play games with adequate cooling be able to turn those fans up.

You can take off the Front panel thing entirely and install a fan there which is awesome, I put a noctua there but as mentioned I wasnt able to fan control that because its a 4pin and all the fan control headers are 3 pin for some reason so that fan is running at full 1500 Rpm but its not that loud since its just a noctua. Love the case, it has fit any card I put in it so far You should NOT be worried about length of your VC in this case, so far its fit my Gtx 980ti Gaming 6G Golden Edition and my Radeon R9 295x2 (A long freaking card!) If it fits a 295x2, Itll fit whatever card you need :)
I like the magnetic side panels, but theyre only magnetic near the corner fronts of the case so when you hook them on sorta you still need to get them to fit closer to the case or slide in more and its really awkward and could have probably been done much better. Cable management is a breeze with all the fan control and stuff already Zip tied together and theres plenty of holes and spaces for you to route fan cables, Psu cables etc. the included top exhaust fan is an LED fan, and can be toggled on the back of the case, theres a rubber button, pretty nice touch! I have an LED psu, an LED on my card and that fan too!
One thing I had with my NZXT was the included USB 3.0 header thing you plug into the motherboard to power the case's top IO USB 3.0 was damaged and I literally am unable to plug that into my motherboard and have USB 3.0 up there! It wasnt the cable, its the actual blue plastic on the header itself, some holes are either like blocked off or too small for the very tiny pins to be able to go into that header so that stinks. everything else works though even the case speaker.

Overall thoughts. Good case, Pretty good price if you want to never have to replace your case again. I WANT USB 3.0 ON THE TOP OF MY CASE!!

1 out of 5 eggsQuality assurance do you know what is it?

This review is from: NZXT Phantom PHAN-001BK Black Steel / Plastic Enthusiast ATX Full Tower Computer Case

Pros: good looking

Cons: they tightened the screw so tight that all the screws where stripped and the case were bent. i could not even make my way inside....

other than that i cant say, i will not trust this poorly built case to handle my 2000$ build.

Other Thoughts: i might got the bad cases in a million but there is one thing that made me decide to never trust NZXT again for anything, by reading the reviews and seeing always the same issues.... NZXT need a better quality assurance department.

am going back to my loyal Antec... It cost an arm and a leg but at least you are sure of getting quality

4 out of 5 eggsGreat! But...

This review is from: NZXT Phantom PHAN-001BK Black Steel / Plastic Enthusiast ATX Full Tower Computer Case

Pros: A lot of space, fit my H100iGTX perfectly with about a inch of space between the rad and my RAM. Looks amazing, pre-installed fans are very quiet. Very glossy keep a microfiber cloth around to clean the fingerprints and dust off.

Cons: The main con would be that the screws on the back were so tight they bent the metal in the factory. So, i have two large dents on two thumb screw holes. Hard to take off the main side panel would be nice if they sent me a side panel for it.

Other Thoughts: Overall a great case just wish the side panel wasn't damaged from factory.

4 out of 5 eggsVery Good Case

This review is from: NZXT Phantom PHAN-001BK Black Steel / Plastic Enthusiast ATX Full Tower Computer Case

Pros: This was a very surprising order as this is my first time building a PC.But when i got it in the mail it came earlier then i was expecting(I live in Pennsylvania).Overall the design is very sleek and for the price it is a bargain.

Cons: I was very carefull when reciving this because the instructions do not tell you how it dissemble it.In fact I allmost broke one of the side panels because of this.

1 out of 5 eggsNot for ATX

This review is from: NZXT Phantom PHAN-001BK Black Steel / Plastic Enthusiast ATX Full Tower Computer Case

Pros: It has excellent routing capabilities for cables and the like.

Cons: This Case, despite what it details itself as, is not for an ATX motherboard. It leaves about an inch of bend-room for the motherboard, so you cannot install anything in the PCI-E bays. So beware when purchasing this case.

Other Thoughts: Would have been nice to know. ._.

2 out of 5 eggsOkay case but won't buy again

This review is from: NZXT Phantom PHAN-001BK Black Steel / Plastic Enthusiast ATX Full Tower Computer Case

Pros: Nice full sized tower with nice blue LEDS.

Cons: Case comes with cruddy dust filters so you have to really clean the inside a lot. Built sturdy but that adds to the weight which is pretty considerable. The side panels are pretty pathetically made as they can bend very easily which is what happened to me. First time I side the case back on, it wasn't on completely so the front part of the door bent which couldn't be fixed with some pliers or a hammer so my case doesn't get its proper air flow through it. I highly recommend that you don't water cool with this system as its already tight inside and the case also gives off monster heat from my dual radiator. Intake fan in front also blows towards the HHD's which is nice but that's all the fan does is cool the drivers, it doesn't help with air flow. The two small side fans on the case are also really pathetically positioned in the case. Again, they just blow on one or two components and adds nothing to the air flow inside. Not to mention it is a big time hassle when you open your case side because you have to either work around the fans or unplug them. Not to mention you also need to find a place for all your cables which just adds more of a mess to the case and again restricts air flow.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome tower

This review is from: NZXT Phantom PHAN-001BK Black Steel / Plastic Enthusiast ATX Full Tower Computer Case

Pros: I bought this case 4 years ago when building my first gaming PC. I had no idea this was a full tower when I bought it. And I also had no idea how big a full tower was, since I had never seen one in person. I'm glad I bought it though. I LOVE the space a full tower gives you. It allows so much more air flow and cable management. Also gives you more space to work with if you're cleaning/taking parts out. This thing has held up for 4 years and still going strong (I realize it's just a case, but things can happen). You can't go wrong with this case.

Cons: None!!

Actually, there is one. The big fan slot on the side panel. I can't put a fan there, because it bumps into the GPU and won't close. It doesn't bother me, as my case is already cooled very well. But I would love to have one there. Not worth docking an egg off though.

Other Thoughts: I'm working on building a new rig, and I think finding a new case will be the hardest part for me. I always compare every single tower out there to this one, and have yet to find one that I like better, except for the NEWER Phantom tower.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Tower

This review is from: NZXT Phantom PHAN-001BK Black Steel / Plastic Enthusiast ATX Full Tower Computer Case

Pros: Roomy
Sleek
Cool

Cons: Collects dust very easily
Could come with more fans

Other Thoughts: Great case! A little roomier than I anticipated, so my lack of hardware in it looks silly. It collects dust very easily and needs to be cleaned often. Could probably benefit from filters on the provided fans.
