4 out of 5 eggsGood Case

Pros: Sleek look fans are quiet clean sleek design

Cons: Cooling fan doesn't fit hard drives must be turned backwards so to access you must remove both side panels very irritating. No real way to install card reader only 2 USB ports on top wouldn't buy another

5 out of 5 eggsPhantom review

Pros: not a bad case, good amount of room, great airflow, looks nice, I recommend this case to anyone looking for a full tower upgrade. i love the horizontal hard drive mounts. makes it easy to manage HHd's. built in fan controller is a plus.

Cons: the only con i would say is the low qaulity molex male connector that is built in to the case (power supply for the built in fan controller). the prongs were all messed up and it took forever to get it plugged in, other than that all is good.

Other Thoughts: price is reasonable, but manufacturer needs to put a better connecter in.

4 out of 5 eggsDecent, bur not perfect

Pros: Quite a few fans, lots of work space inside, can hold quite a few drives. Comes with a large selection of screw

Cons: In order to fit hard drives in the bays the double fans need to be removed (one can fit in the front of the case, the other second can stay unless you are mounting 6 hard drives). The fan controls don't really work, but isn't a deal breaker (works fine when set to max).

Other Thoughts: more space between hard drive caddy and fans, or lower profile fans would make a good revision, but otherwise an all around solid case

5 out of 5 eggsNZXT Phantom

Pros: 1.Case fans on max are very quiet just a mild hum comes from them.
2. Plenty of room for water cooling and everything else you want to cram in it.
3. Hard drive bays are easily taking out and slide right back in plus it is set up to help reduce vibrations which is always nice.
4. Plenty of places to tie all of your cables and wires to keep them from flopping around and for better appearance.
5. Very sturdy case I am not worried about it falling apart or crushing or even getting dented very easily.
6. It comes with just about all the screws you could use in the case plus a water cooling bracket, stand offs, and some zip ties for cable management.
7. The front panel door is pretty solid and padded to help with noise reduction, which makes me happy to have a solid door instead of a flimsy one.

Cons: This is a minor one but it was a little difficult closing the back side up after I was done with the cable management due to space that is available between the tray and the panel but with a little adjustment and a little push I was able to get it all to work out.

Other Thoughts: I love this case. One of the best cases I have owned and I have owned a lot. It has a unique design and is pretty rugged. I love that they set it up to help with noise and air flow, which in my opinion they did a pretty dang good job at it. I would definitely recommend this to everyone and their mothers.

4 out of 5 eggsvery decent case with some minor issues

Pros: This is a huge case that is at a decent price and holds many components. It can hold a crazy amount of hard drives, the airflow is amazing, it has room for a ton of fans, it can hold many dvd drives, it has many expansion card slots. Wire management is very nice with this case and it has many holes to support whatever type of liquid cooling you want to do.

Cons: Since this is a Extended ATX case it would be nice for them to include more slots for expansion cards in the back. Many of us who get this have extended atx gaming rigs and want to even do QUAD sli/crossfire and there simply aren't enough slots in the back depending on the configuration. Also the NZXT fans are VERY cheap. I would highly recommend replacing them since most of them will die a few months after getting them. Personally I got an extra large top case fan so both fan slots were used and both of the large top case fans either started making noises after a few months or they just stopped working. Moreover the fan controler on the top of the system is not amazing quality it looks cool but its prone to breaking. IDK if it was just a issue with my case but the front audio ports were garbage. You can hear the interference in the cheap front audio cables and the front usb headers are also cheap but hey at least they work. I resolved this problem by completely not using front panel anything but USB on this case. Also the 2 120mm fans on the door of the case are a pain in the buttocks. Every time you go to open the case there is no room to get the door off since the fans are attached and when you go to put the case back on its a pain to connect the fans while attaching the door on a angle since they didn't include enough cable with their fans. Furthermore if you use a large cpu cooler or liquid cooling block there is no room for the giant side fan and this was a problem I ran into. uhmmm also the screws they use for the side panels (both side panels come off) are very cheap and strip easy. With under 100 times of taking the side door off they are likely to not work as well anymore and even when hand tightening they are kind of loose and won't fully tighten. Also the tool less drive bays don't work very well and don't secure the drives very well. The drives have a very hard time fitting the in adapter bracket and its easy to completely break the adapters by just putting moderate force on them. Furthermore since the case is so big many wires are not long enough to reach either from the mobo to hdds or from psu to drive bays or what not and this is a constant concern when adding components especially if you want to keep the wires hidden. Personally I think many of these issues are minor and easy to fix. If they put a few more dollars into making this they could use higher quality screws, higher quality audio cable, higher quality fan controler with better molex attachments that don't bend and as long as when you add fans you stay clear of NZXT branded ones you should be fine and it would even be cheaper for them to use a tool design for the hard drives. (really if you're making a computer why wouldn't you at least have a basic philips screwdriver?)

Other Thoughts: There are several older versions that came with only usb 2.0 like I have and a newer version with mostly only front panel usb 3.0. It would be nice if the case came with a internal header adapter for people that don't have USB 3.0 since many people still do not and its very unprofessional to just have 2+ non working usb ports on the front of a custom built computer. Overall despite the flaws this case has it is very nice and much higher quality than a lot of other cases on here. I have had this case for almost 5 years now so I think I should know all the issues with it... This seriously may be one of the best cases ever for this price point but I would consider Lian-li if you have the money to spend.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing Case!

Pros: I wrote a long review and for some reason it didn't submit...

This case is straight up awesome, you will love it.

Cons: It's also heavy as hell and the case wall can be a little irritating to reinstall.

Other Thoughts: Buy it, you'll love it.

5 out of 5 eggsFantastic case.

Pros: This case offers great airflow options, I own this model and white 001- almost zero hassle installs considering the ample space, custom water cooling from its and hidden front panel. he plastic snaps for the case are very sturdy.
This case also comes with hanging brackets to mount up to a 240 mm radiator, and provides enough room for a push pull setup AND the ability to use two top mounted 200mm fans in conjunction. I can't stress how good the airflow is.

Cons: There are a few real con's, the push pull on the radiator with 200mm fans are kinda cramped.
there is a known defect in the fan controller where the 2 120mm side fans would stall out and the light would flash NZXT will ship a new controller at shipping price. (so I've heard.)
You can only use certain nzxt 200 mm fans with this case.

3 out of 5 eggsIs OK

Pros: A lot of interior space, easy to work with.

Cons: Even though the spec said LED fan, well guess what, NO LED at all =(, and twice the case come in damage and bent, the second time around it was minor so i don't feel like bothering about it anymore, cuz i don't want to wait any longer for RMA.

Other Thoughts: wish the side where the motherboard would have more easy access hole for all my wiring.

5 out of 5 eggsHuge

Pros: This thing is huge I went from a tiny that barely fit my motherboard to this and now my motherboard looks tiny in it. It has good air flow once you buy more fans for it and enough room for anything.

Cons: you can't fit 200mm fans that aren't NZXT fans the holes won't line up and you'll have to screw it in.

1 out of 5 eggsWhat a nightmare

Pros: Man, what a day, not working at all it is funny that everything is working outside of case but when you install back all that motherboard, PSU, video card and fans not working at all, I am very disappointed. I end up calling EVGA, btw what a tech support from those guys. we couldnt figure out. I call them cause motherboard, PSU and video card is EVGA, I would never change that brand. Quality stuff and great service

First with though it was PSU we tested it is working then we tested motherboard and it is fine and PSU also is fine. course these tests were outside of the case. but no luck once you out back everything nada. I am returning back to newegg.

EVGA 500W PSU
EVGA Z87 FTW motherboard
EVGA GTX 570 video card
EVGA Corsair memory

Cons: First with though it was PSU we tested it is working then we tested motherboard and it is fine and PSU also is fine. course these tests were outside of the case. but no luck once you out back everything nada. I am returning back to newegg.

Other Thoughts: Nothing realy, as I explained above

Manufacturer Response:

Hello, Valued NZXT Customer

We deeply apologize for the experience at this point it seems that there is a contact within the case itself that is causing a short. In turn keeping the system from powering up so grounding issues are tricky to pin point as it can be a loose stand off or a pin connection that is loose and making contact with the case. It’s very strange to see that the system would just start up for a second then shut off after. If you could please visit our website at www.nzxt.com/support/. Once there we will need you to submit a request at the top right corner giving us a detailed description of the issue. Also you can contact us at +1-800-228-9395 for further trouble shooting.

Kind regards,
NZXT Support.
