5 out of 5 eggsAwesome case!

Pros: - Sleek look, very sexy. Put an orange Half-Life lambda decal on the front and it looks like it belongs there.
- Plenty of space and drive bays.
- Space in back of case made cable management a breeze.
- Power supply slides right into its bay.
- Easy to hook up hard drives.

Cons: - None

Other Thoughts: My build:

i7-6700 CPU
MSI Tomahawk Motherboard
MSI Nvidia GTX 970 GPU
2 x 8GB G.Skill Ripjaws RAM (16GB)
EVGA Supernova G2 850 watt PSU

5 out of 5 eggsAWESOME CASE

Pros: Everything from cable management to fans to drive bays. This is the best case I have ever owned. Great price too.

Cons: No CD bay for a CD drive. Not that I miss it or anything. Just I didnt know it didnt come with it. Which is fine, because screw CDs.

5 out of 5 eggsFantastic Case

Pros: This is a very sleek, roomy, and organized case with plenty of fans and good airflow. The PSU cover, rear-lighting, window panel, and HDD rack have excellent modding potential and are good additions to NZXT cases. I used a Phantom 530 for a few years before this case, and the h440 excels in nearly every way (unless you need an optical drive). I have a liquid cooled mobo/CPU, 240mm rad, dual 980s, 5 SSDs, 1 3.5" HDD, and a 1200W PSU and this case fits them all with ease, and excellent air-flow

Cons: None

4 out of 5 eggsmatte box

Pros: -silent
-power button
-matte finish
-4 fans
-few lights
-straight lines
-front microphone jack

Cons: -space for power supply unit
-no space for dvd drive

Other Thoughts: I love this case. I have two other NZXT cases and loved the designs for the airflow and power supply unit, so I wanted another NZXT case again for the recent build. I looked through Newegg for all the available NZXT cases and thought the boxy design for this case was perfect, so I mainly bought it for its straight lines and orange accent, but it turned out to be very impressive in other design areas as well.
You wouldn't think the power button is an important design, but until you've experienced stuck on/off buttons, you won't appreciate a functional PC button as much as I do. The button is round and big and it has a white LED-light ring around it when it's on. It's very easy to press--there's just a good feel when you press it.
My previous NZXT case had enough space for a Noctua NH-U12S CPU fan and a Radeon HD 7970 GHz Edition video card, but this NZXT H440 case is even roomier. It was easier to get the CPU fan power cable connected to the motherboard in this case. There was enough space to reach in and connect the EATX cable even with the huge Noctua fan already installed.
A lot of cases are advertised as silent, but this is the most silent build I've ever had because of this case. My other NZXT (Phantom 410) case has the same power supply unit (Corsair AX760), the same motherboard (Asus Sabertooth Z87), same CPU fan (Noctua NH-U12S)--i7-4790K vs i7-4770K, EVGA GTX 980 Superclocked vs Gigabyte Radeon HD 7970 GHz Edition--and this NZXT H440 is completely silent, while the Phantom can be heard loudly two rooms away. One of the side panels has foam padding and it seems to really dampen all the noise. The foam was annoying at first because it pressed against all the cables hidden behind the back of the motherboard side, and that made it difficult to insert the panel back onto the case; if you manage the cables better then you won't have as hard of a time closing the case back up.
I didn't realize that this case was designed for use with an external DVD drive only. I bought an internal burner for the build, but I guess I will save it for another computer. There are three fans in the front where a ROM drive typically would sit, so I'm happy for the extra fannage.
Other things that I love about the case are just aesthetic. The matte finish keeps it looking clean because you can touch it and there won't be finger prints afterward. I don't like a lot of lights from my case because they can be very distracting, so this case is perfect. The fans are just black instead of the typical LED ones that you can see spinning.
My only complaint is the space designed for the power supply unit. You can't install the unit first then connect the modular cables as you need because there's not enough space to reach in and press the connectors. If you have to connect another cable for extra hard drives, you'd have to unscrew the PSU, pull it out, then connect the extra cable and then re-screw it back onto the case.

I also love the front mic jack.

2 out of 5 eggsLooks good, works horribly.

Pros: Nice looking case, while being tall, glass siding, with lights in the back, and lights for the logo. Overall, looks great. It also has alot of spots for wiring as to keep it from

Cons: Absolutely no air flow. This Mid-Tower case is horrid for SLI, but in general, is horrid for anything that will require heat. Your equipment in there is just in a hotbox, and the only place for fans is moving at a pitiful speed that's uncontrollable without paying extra. Then, you have a wall in front of the fans with barely an inch of breathing space to bring in air.

You absolutely need to remove the front of the case, and put a fan in front in order to play games without your stuff melting.

NONE of the fans worked till I manually plugged them all into the board, same goes for the lights. It has it's own thing in there too, why bother?

No Optical Disc Drive, of which is obvious just by looking at it, but really though, why would anyone not want an Optical Disc Drive? Sure everything's digital these days, but as soon as I got this case, I needed one so badly I had to pull wires out the back and balance an ODD on a 360 controller behind my computer. That's when you're gonna wish you had a spot for it.

Sure it looks nicer, but you're removing usability and options by doing so.

Other Thoughts: This is a good example of "all that glitters, does not shine"

I can't understand why so many people have bought this, it's a horrid case that's entirely made to look good, but even then it costs more than stuff that looks even better, and offers more. Overall, I do not recommend this case, it's all about looking good, while lowering the lifespan of your hardware.

It's like a fashionista wearing a dress made of chinchillas and tigers while wearing High Heels. Just stay still with a fan blowing on you, you can't do anything in that and would immediately get heat stroke.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Case, Excellent Service

Pros: -Solid construction
-Attractive design
-Easy to work in

Cons: -Side panels difficult to remove and replace
-Plastic window side panel feels and looks cheap

Other Thoughts: Bought the H440 while looking for something that I could grow into. The stealth-bomber-meets-plastic-light-up-toaster-oven aesthetic of most other cases was a deal breaker for me, and laying eyes on the sleek and (relatively) minimalist design of this case was a very welcome change. Finding out that the case eschews a slot for an optical drive was another big attraction as I have not put a disc into a computer for at least the last five years.
Upon receipt the case was well packaged and in good condition. Once I wrenched the doors off working within the case was simple and user friendly. I found myself very satisfied with the build but wishing that I could replace the windowed side panel with a second solid one. Personally, being able to see how much money I've wasted on a computer is not something I want to be able to see, let alone let others see. Also, having a second insulated side panel would surely help reduce noise further . So I looked around for a spare unit and eventually contacted NZXT support to see if I could order one. To my suprise they promptly sent me one no questions asked. I was and still am impressed.
If you find yourself wanting this case but in a different color combination than the half dozen or so offered then you should know that painting the plastic accents is a fairly painless endevour. The steel plating is easily sepparated from the plastic shell. My case is now a nice black-on-black void that meets all of the original requirements I couldn't quite find in any other case.
The NZXT H440 is a great case to grow into and make your own, and NZXT is there to help you.

5 out of 5 eggsUpdate "Exactly What I was Hoping for"

Pros: Still the amazing "soft-touch" kind of black matte paint and orange accents. It's just stunning.
Still the great compartmentalization that comes with the psu shroud and hidden drive brackets.
Still the ample tie-down points for cable management.
Still has a 10 fan hub (that I don't use but still a nice touch).
Still extremely quiet and offers adequate airflow.

Cons: Here's where my update comes into play. Cable management at the back has run into some minor hiccups where having an extra cm of space at the back would certainly help. Still I am able to close the side panel easily and securely without bowing of any kind, but i had to remap some of the cables because there just isn't quite enough space. adding cable extensions was not necessary as a mod, but still matches the orange perfectly.

Other Thoughts: This case is quite spacious to work in, don't get me wrong. But just 1cm of extra would have made it even better. I'm not taking off an egg for it, because with patience you can still route and secure all your cables and close the panel quite easily. But patience really is the key factor to this case. It is easy to build in but in every other way imaginable.

5 out of 5 eggsNZXT H440

Pros: This thing looks amazing, especially with the window and the orange and black theme. It feels very sturdy, the paint is even and feels nice (it almost has that soft touch feel like the back of some smart phones) and the PSU shroud, hidden drive bays and excellent cable management make for a great look. The CPU cutout made it very easy to install even a large CPU cooler like the PH-TC14PE and there is certainly more than enough room in here for extensive watercooling should I decide I want to go that route. The space between drive bays makes for great airflow even with several HDDs installed, but I took them out to make it just that much better (I'm currently running everything on my 500GB 850 EVO). Noise is another area where this case does well, as the sound dampening material and the placement of the vents prevent the user from hearing most noises inside the case. Even with the case sitting at ear level I can barely hear the fans in my Tri-X 290 over speakers set at a very low volume.

Cons: There are a few minor flaws with this case. The placement of the SSD plates on top of the PSU shroud could be better, as the cable next to the power connector from my Seasonic X-850 had to be bent slightly to make it work. Having a cutout directly below the edge of the SSD mounting plate would fix this issue.

Lack of an optical drive bay is another issue that has been noted by several reviewers as well as many users. I personally only needed one to install Windows but someone who frequently needs an optical drive should either look into external drives or find another case.

The only other issue I had with this case is that the side panel behind the motherboard mounting plate can be hard to take on and off because of the sound dampening material. I understand that this is already a large case, but making it a centimeter or two wider to give more cable management room and make taking the side panel off easier couldn't have been too hard.

Other Thoughts: If I could have given 4.5 eggs I would have, but I'll round up because it's still a great case. A fan controller might have been nice, but the fans are quiet enough that it isn't really an issue. Also, because of the placement of the PSU you'll need to hook up any modular connectors before you install it into the case. It's very difficult to hook those up once the PSU is in the case.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing Case

Pros: Orange, well built, lots of fans, nice led in the back for connection visibility (with switch), lots of room, did I mention lots of room. Built-in fans move lots of air and are quiet.

Cons: Orange is too glossy (should be a little flatter). Be careful with the black painted surfaces, they chip a little too easy.

Other Thoughts: remember this does not have any 5.25 bays or front access. great case for a modern build.
