5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Awesome motherboard for a couple years now! Still chugging along as a daily user for emails, web browsing, music, and more daily usage stuff. Have'nt had any problems with it what-so-ever in the two years I've had it, with drivers or anything else. Defenilty recommend it!

Cons: None in the two years I've had it.

Other Thoughts: Awesome budget mobo for the budget build daily computer I put it in.

1 out of 5 eggsGIGABYTE rebates is a SCAM!!!!

Pros: it works.

Cons: On the rebate from it said "Only one rebate per qualifying product per household per promotion
will be accepted. multiple purchases on a single product only qualify
for one rebate per promotion." so i bought GIGABYTE GA-MA770-UD3 and GIGABYTE GA-MA78GM-US2H together under the same promotion. but my rebate was declined, they told me the barcode label didnt belong to an item eligible for offer GIG-5022, but i checked the rebate form and the motherboard model no. they should be the same. so i email them and ask, then they said "Both models are under the same offer code. The manufacturer allows a maximum of 1 rebate offer per billing address." it's not true, if you are not going to pay for the rabate, y would u offer it, this is the first and last time i buy their product ! i am done with Gigabyte !

Other Thoughts: very bad customer service, no one picks up the phone for any rebate problem, i left my no. in the voice mail and sent them few emails, no reply at all, dont buy their stuff unless you want to deal with the trouble like this, they suck big time!!!!!

2 out of 5 eggsGood features but questionable reliability

Pros: This is a feature rich motherboard for comparatively priced ASUS's motherboard. It worked great until it broke!

Cons: There were warning signs in reviews about it suddenly dyeing but I went with it any way. It worked great until one day it suddenly died and will not post. I followed the RMA process and it was repaired and delivered in about 2 weeks. I have never had a MB die on me in last 15 years. For me reliability is the most important attribute and I will not buy gigabyte again. I replaced it with similarly priced ASUS but that has less features.

Other Thoughts: Actually my review is for similar GA-MA78GM-S2H.

5 out of 5 eggsNice Board - No Problems

Pros: I do computer refurbs where I replace the mobo, processor and memory, etc. in Dull and other older national brand computers for customers that don't want to buy a whole new computer (actually, they are, they just don't realize it). I've used this board and it works great paired with a AMD 7850 Kuma cpu. I haven't exerienced any of the difficulties other reviewers are stating but anyone can get a bad mobo.

Cons: I wish Gigabyte would let you buy two on the rebate, other than that, nothing bad. Can't even knitpick....

4 out of 5 eggsA Complete Micro-ATX board

Pros: Complete board with all the I/O's that you need.
Quality components, including solid caps for the CPU but quality electrolytics for the balance of the board. Dual Bios and bios is VERY easy to update, no need to boot in prompt. Have a 5050e on this board but the board accepts cpu's with 2/3/4 cores, in case I need to upgrade in the futur. I went for the silent energy efficient setup.

Cons: It's a micro-atx board, so your only have two PCI slots.
I just needed one for my Audigy card. But it does have four Dual-Channel memory slots. Everything is cramped, not much space between connectors, but thats expected from a micro board.

Other Thoughts: Do everything board at a good price. Good options for futur upgrades. Would buy it again. Setup is...AMD 5050e, Radeon 4670 Ultimate, SB Audigy, Kingston HyperX 2gig Dual and the rest is standard.

1 out of 5 eggsNot Too Good

Pros: Impressive board, tons of ports and options in bios. NewEgg's great service.

Cons: Memory controller failed after three days. No response from Gigabyte support.

Other Thoughts: Pretty disappointed, I know anyone can have a bad motherboard, but this being my first gigabyte put a bad taste in my mouth. I will not buy this brand again.

4 out of 5 eggsDoesn't quite get there for me.

Pros: * Inexpensive
* Built in HD3200
* Lots of Ports
* Supports Phenom II's

Cons: * Could only get stereo output from HDMI, even though a FAQ on website said it supports 5.1
* CPU Frequency Scaling (Cool N Quiet) is broken on this motherboard (and some others, probably most Gigabyte 780G's) on Ubuntu Linux 8.10 and 9.04. It's a known issue that is still being worked.
* Short. Doesn't quite reach all of the screw-holes, so it dangles a bit.
* HD support on QuickTime 1080p was very choppy, even with a Dual Core

Other Thoughts: Doesn't quite get there for me. Not getting 5.1 out of HDMI would have been a deal-breaker for me, had I known about it. The manual says it should work, but the software only lets me select stereo output. Output on Windows Media Player playing a DVD looked awful, but PowerDVD 9 looked like the upscaling DVD player I have. Netflix looked bad; it looks much nicer on my XBox 360. I don't think this will do everything I want my HTPC to do.

AMD64x2 5400+, other stuff.

5 out of 5 eggsTwo Thumbs (and all 8 fingers) Up

Pros: I upgraded from 10 y.o. AMD KT7 technology and what a difference 10 years makes. I was using MSI and Abit (prior to that big swelling capacitor fiasco), so Gigabyte is new for me. A solid dual monitor video card, a solid sound card AND the wired network adapter all on-board a smooth running motherboard (so far) for only $65 with rebate.

I'm not pushing the envelop with fancy games and such, but I'm not exactly just reading Yahoo! news in a browser either. . .It's fast and inexpensive quality (so far).

Cons: Only two PCI sockets seems kind of limiting. I'm used to bigger boards with 5 or more. . .but then that was without all the good on-board features.

Other Thoughts: Luckily I got sick of tempermental wireless network connections so I wired my network to the router, making the on-board network card a plus. Otherwise I would be wishing the board had on-board wireless to save a PCI socket, though a USB wireless adapter solves that problem anyway.

5 out of 5 eggsWhat a difference

Pros: Good brand, high quality components for the price. Board laid out nicely, works just fine with my existing hardware. built-in graphics card is really nice, drives my 22inch screen much better than my old X1300 XGE 512mb card.

Cons: Not exactly a high-end product, mail in rebates suck. Why not include a floppy or CD with the SATA drivers on it? Who still uses the stupid 3.5inch hardware anymore? Now I have to find a disk, drive and another computer to make the disk just to use SATA in XP.

Other Thoughts: Using an old Athlon64 x2 4200+ with 2gigs RAM, WD SATA drives and the onboard video. The only change from this setup and the old board is the MB and the videocard, and this thing flies in comparison. video is light years better too.
