1 out of 5 eggsGreat!! When It Worked

Pros: Its A Powerful Card. 4-GB's of GDDR5 512-bit. Its All you can ask for from AMD. Battlefield 4 Ultra 70-75 FPS. Arma 45-50 FPS Ultra Graphics. This Card is Amazing.. When It Works That is.

Cons: I received two of these cards both didn't work. The First Card was defective right out of the box, Instantly RMA'd. The Replacement I recived Work... for 1 week. This is unacceptable from ASUS and Newegg. I Called and asked for a refund. They Will Give my money back as in-store credit. I'm sending it back ASAP. The Second one lasted about a week and crashed my system. cant reboot windows, Giant bar cuts the screen in half. and windows repair screen look like it had a stoke. Lines everywhere. took the card out and put my old one in and it was like nothing happened. like, why?

Other Thoughts: If you get one that works great. Your a lucky one.

5 out of 5 eggsThese cards work great.

Pros: One of these benchmarks faster than a RADEON HD 7990

Cons: When running 2 cards on the same board, it requires a case with high air flow, lots of fans, or an ordinary case with the side door off and point a 9" table fan at the cards.

4 out of 5 eggsAll you need to know

Pros: When this card works, this is a MONSTER! I bought 4 of em and I'm running the 4 on the same 1500 watts PSU. So for any miner, this is a good thing to know.

Cons: The problem with this card is that they don't have all the same Memory chips. You have some with Elpida, and some with Hynix. If you Overclock the memory of the Elpida too high, you will get Black Screen. And once you get the black screen, you have to uninstall the driver of the gpu and the utilities software like GPU TWEAK and Catalyst Control Center, Sometimes you even have to reinstall Windows or do a Restore. The Hynix memory chips on the other hand don't give black screens. I suggest you to install only the Driver without GPU TWEAK and CCC. If you want to tweak your card, use MSI AfterBurner. If you get black screen just uninstall and reinstall the driver, if you installed GPU tweak you will have to restore your OS. Download GPU-Z to know what type of memory you got(Hynix or Elpida). I own 2 Elpida and 2 Hynix, the problem is that they don't run at the same Core Clock and memory clock. Elpida are good at stock speed, and Hynix can be pushed at 1000 MHZ core clock, and 1500 MHZ memory clock. Newegg should look at their product key # and identify the Hynix from the Elpida to send all the same gpu memory to people who buy more than 1.

Other Thoughts: GPU is new, give it some times for drivers developers to provide us with good drivers

5 out of 5 eggsGOOD ONE!

Pros: NO PROBLEMS RUNS COOLER THAN I EXPECTED! AND MY GAMES AT LIKE BUTTER SMOOTH AND VERY FAST!

don't go trying to cramp this beast in some coffin case you'll be unhappy from the very start. you need a well ventilated case to start with...and the rest of your rig should be up to par. if not you'll be making a mistake..build your rig AROUND THIS VIDEO CARD..plenty of power to. In fact go overkill, in case you love it so much, you want to add another card! I sold my 7970 for this R9 290. BEST upgrade so far!
My fan speed is at 50 can barely hear it 3 feet next to my HAF932 case

Cons: NONE

Other Thoughts: Seems to helped my over clocks as well. i am able to push my FX6300 Vishera to 4500 MHz ,and further without the problems i was having with my 7970. i just decided to settle in at 4500 MHz. seems like a reasonable over clock and this ASUS R9 290 works well with that number. Again my games are BEST EVER! Sweet card indeed! SHOULD HAVE BOUGHT 4 of them when the price was low low! All newer PC games, nothing older then a year. The graphics are SWEET! Game play is very fast! Thanks ASUS

2 out of 5 eggsConstant Instability

Pros: This card is blazingly fast when it works. Much like all the other reviews below, I've had the same problems with instability. I've tried every driver combination with no improvement, different configurations, different applications, etc.

My symptoms go like this: card will work perfectly for a few days. Then randomly while checking email the computer BSODs and restarts. Hmm, wierd. Get into Windows, start doing things, it's fine for a couple hours. Display freezes and won't wake up, then the computer restarts. Then it might do a restart cycle 3 or 4 times after getting the Windows loading screen.

What sucks the most is that I'm not sure if it's a driver or hardware problem. I was able to play through Skyrim for 5 days straight without issues, and it looked glorious. Then all the sudden the same problems above creep up and I can't even start up Skyrim for 3 days without crashes/restarts...

TLDR: Bad drivers, random BSODs/reboots/shutdowns, driver crashing. Everything goes back to normal once I put my old Asus 6850 back in.

Cons: Terrible drivers, hardware may be suspect as well. Very powerful card when it works properly.

1 out of 5 eggsAsus does not have your back

Pros: Great card when it works.

Cons: Died after playing ...Skulls of the Shogun....SKULLS OF THE SHOGUN, hardly a GPU beast, but it Blackscreened! I tried to reinstall the drivers but it keeps blackscreening after reboot. Asus Customer Reps weren't any help either apparently, this card is not on the cross-ship list...

1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: When the card did work it was great, that was short lived however

Cons: Card died after 3 days! Got a solid bar across the monitor when booting up, and once booted random lines everywhere. Tried in different slots and same problem, tried a different video card from one of my other PCs and it worked fine. Then installed this one again and still the same problem.. I am highly experienced in electronics and have been in the electronics manufacturing industry for over 9 years. After looking closely at the card I notice two areas that looked like they had been reworked and one solder joint that appears to be a cold solder connection.

I'm not very impressed, for a card that cost over $500 it certainly should last longer than 3 days. I'm hoping NewEGG will ship me a replacement right away while I send this one back, real bummer that I wait for this one to arrive only to have to send it back right away and now have to sit and wait some more.

1 out of 5 eggsExpected more from this high end card

Pros: Fast and powerful (when it works).

Cons: Unreliable. Monitor will randomly go black and will have to reboot in order to use again. Updated all drivers and still not fixed. This is unacceptable for a card at this price level. Very disappointed.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat card!

Pros: My 2nd card arrived and this one also fired right up without any problems. Both cards pump out 830khs on stock settings.

Cons: My system is REALLY loud now. Luckily I play games with Turtle Beach Headphones.

Other Thoughts: I was skeptical at first, but my Corsair TX850 psu is doing a good job of powering my system with 2 R9 290s. No HW errors in cgminer or while playing games such as Far Cry 3, Max Payne 3, and Bioschock Infinite on an eyefinity setup.
