5 out of 5 eggsDriver/Final Update

This review is from: MSI N750-1GD5/OC G-SYNC Support GeForce GTX 750 1GB 128-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready Video Card

Pros: The great:
1- 55w TPD
2- Runs cool
3- Decent GPU heatsink design
4- Works great with Ubuntu 14.04.2 LTS x64 via HDMI to led tv (In tv menu under advanced video turn off overscan to fit tv screen properly)

Cons: The negatives:
1- It was not free :)
2- Not 256 bit

Other Thoughts: The latest Ubuntu 14.04.2 LTS x64 driver for this card via Ubuntu repository is ver. 352.21 and as long as you follow directions in my previous review selecting this version you'll have the most current driver that is stable. The price of $94.99 with a $15.00 MIR is a deal that is hard to beat! I have read on different sites where others are using "250-350 watt power supplies" and these will be ones who end up re-posting updated reviews stating the card: "running hot now, just died, BSOD or it is crashing my system" all due to not using as MSI recommends, which is a *min 400 watt power supply with at least a +12v rail of 20 amps. Furthermore, MSI recommends *4 GB or more RAM (2 GB RAM min.) I paid a flat $94.99 plus next business day shipping and I love this card. Its fast & energy efficient. Unless this card croaks unexpectedly on me this is my final post. I have seen the light (former AMD fanboy) and it is Intel-Nvidia !

5 out of 5 eggs55 Watt TPD With Decent Performance

This review is from: MSI N750-1GD5/OC G-SYNC Support GeForce GTX 750 1GB 128-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready Video Card

Pros: Here is the good stuff:
1- NO mini HDMI
2- NO driver issues unlike AMD
3- NO PCI-E 6pin connector needed
4- Cooling Fan is whisper quiet
5- Runs cool (has not gone over 35C yet)
6- Idles @ 22C
7- With Premier membership *free rush processing
8- Fast hassle free shipping (see other thoughts)
9-Current price of $94.99 compared to amazone: $129.99
10- Decent performance with only 55 watt TPD

Cons: The not so good:
1- No buy one get one free deals LOL
2- Newegg packaging (airbags only underneath the OEM MSI box & nothing on top)

Other Thoughts: Overall I love this card with its 512 cuda cores, 128 bit DDR 5 1 GB memory all for a mere $94.99. I paid extra (Premier discounted) for Newegg Next Business Day shipping & Fed-Ex delivered on time with package intact right to my front door!! I had NO driver issues on Ubuntu 14.04 LTS 64 bit operating system. For any Ubuntu 14.04 users here is how to get it done. First take out your old card & remove motherboard battery for 10 minutes to clear motherboard BIOS. After putting battery back in install this card. Turn your pc back on and when pc begins to bootup you'll need to go back into your motherboard BIOS and re-set all your settings (ex. boot sequence, cpu fan speed, BIOS password etc.) Now open a terminal and the first command listed below removes your current Nvidia driver:
sudo apt-get remove nvidia*

Here is the second command you need to run in a terminal:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:xorg-edgers/ppa

Third command you need to run in a terminal:
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get upgrade

Then re-boot your pc, go to the System Settings icon on your task launcher, to Software & Updates, to Additional Drivers...select driver version 346.72...click on "Apply Changes"...let it install...reboot your pc again...you have just installed the latest Nvidia driver currently available for Ubuntu 14.04

Yes, I know Windows 10 will be released 7/29/15...but you'll have to excuse me if I do not rush out to buy a copy. Ubuntu 14.04 x64 is faster than Windows, no activation hassles, I am NOT at the mercy of Micro$oft'$ OS mods and with Google Chrome I can stream NetFlix, Hulu, or YouTube automatically. Furthermore, Ubuntu 14.04 will be supported through May 2019 and 99.9% of viruses-malware have no effect on it.

As for this card at $94.99 you can not beat the price to performance ratio! I am using it with an Intel LGA 1155 Celeron G1620 dual core CPU, 8 gigs DDR3 1333 Crucial RAM, Western Digital 250 GB hard drive, MSI motherboard, LG DVD-RW drive and EVGA 430 watt power supply along with Ubuntu 14.04 LTS x64 operating system. It is a peppy setup that uses very little electricity. No buyer's remorse here at all! Thanks Newegg for a sweet deal!!! FYI MSI states on box: minimum 400 watt power supply with at least +12v rail of 20 amps.

1 out of 5 eggsDead in 2 months!!!

This review is from: MSI N750-1GD5/OC G-SYNC Support GeForce GTX 750 1GB 128-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready Video Card

Pros: Great performance while it worked

Cons: Two months ago I ordered this card and it is already DEAD. It WILL NOT send ANY video to my two VGA monitors or my HDTV. This will be the second item in the past 12 months I have had to return to Newegg. I honestly expected better, but I guarantee I will think twice before buying from here again!

Other Thoughts: For the price it is a good card, ran all of my games on their max settings very smoothly at a maximum VGA resolution of 1280x1024, and on my HDTV I only had to bump it down one step from 1920x1080. I just wish it would have lasted longer

4 out of 5 eggsVideo Card

This review is from: MSI N750-1GD5/OC G-SYNC Support GeForce GTX 750 1GB 128-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready Video Card

Pros: Promo made this a decent deal..
Came with 150 in in game currency so if you played those games, you could technically balance that out.

Cons: None really.

Other Thoughts: Considering I paid 600+ for my previous high end card.. this is a budget card that works better than it.

5 out of 5 eggsupdate 4/22/14

This review is from: MSI N750-1GD5/OC G-SYNC Support GeForce GTX 750 1GB 128-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready Video Card

Pros: i felt the need for an update on this wonderfull card. using msi afterburner and much testing and gaming not only have i maxed out the core overclock to +135mhz but the memory by +300mhz as well. this was good enough to bump the windows experience index from 7.6 to 7.7! reviews on the reference card says it only gets 7.5 at stock speeds. i wish i could compared this card at this very stable overclock to a stock 750 ti.

Cons: the boost gained from higher memory clocks makes me feel like 128bit bus is bottlenecking this series. i think 192bit would have been better and still allow for no power plug beastmode. that said...this card blows me away with what it can do with a 128 bus so i will not deduct any eggs :)

Other Thoughts: gpuz says this card likes to run at 1310mhz while im gaming! thats even higher than the overclocked boost number is supposed to be. i cant wait to see what nvidia does with maxwell@22nm process...i use to be a ati/amd fanboy based on performance/watt ratio. well nvidia just blew thier doors off with this one!

5 out of 5 eggsstupid good!

This review is from: MSI N750-1GD5/OC G-SYNC Support GeForce GTX 750 1GB 128-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready Video Card

Pros: i really cant praise this card more. beyond my expectations for sure. it runs cool and quiet. handles all my games maxed out (1080p) even allowing aa to be used in most titles. my wei graphics scores (both) went from 7.0 to 7.6 with this card right away. i did not use the included driver. i downloaded the latest beta since this is a new series. had zero issues getting the 150$ in game bonus as well. then on top of all this...i had read a review that claimed nearly all 750 cards can oc to the max +135 allowed...it is not a myth. i slapped the slider to the max oc and it jumped to action without a hiccup...heck it doesnt even act different at all...i get an average clock of 1215-1225 running MSI kombuster. i tried out a 400 oc on the memory too and it took that like a piece of pie. i didnt try overclocking the memory any further but im very happy with my machine running a STOCK HP PSU! replaced a hd 5670 with this card

Cons: none so far

Other Thoughts: 2.8 amd athlon2 x4
4gb ddr3
gtx 750

4 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: MSI N750-1GD5/OC G-SYNC Support GeForce GTX 750 1GB 128-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready Video Card

Pros: Great card for the price . Super fast and easy to install.

Cons: Disapointed I didn't get the free $150 worth of game money as advertised. Was looking forward to trying out the 3 games. Won't bother now.
