4 out of 5 eggsIt worked in my system but

This review is from: Visiontek Radeon 5450 1GB DDR3 (DVI-I, HDMI, VGA)

Pros: Easy to install and get drivers

Cons: The card had one capacitor installed on the wrong side of the board. I accidently knock it off. It is obvious that everything is installed on one side as is usually the case, but one capacitor was on the other side and I didn't see it. So I knocked off an egg. I will install a new capacitor, but be very careful handling this thing.

5 out of 5 eggsNice Video Card

This review is from: Visiontek Radeon 5450 1GB DDR3 (DVI-I, HDMI, VGA)

Pros: Bought this to upgrade an old AMD setup that had an integrated video card on the motherboard (pre-APU design). My kids were playing Minecraft on Ubuntu Linux 14.04 Desktop and had a lot of glitching problems. Installing this card along with the proprietary AMD Linux graphics drivers made all of those glitches go away so now the gameplay is smooth as butter.

Cons: Doesn't cook me breakfast in the morning.

Other Thoughts: Works with the proprietary AMD Linux drivers on Ubuntu so you can get the most out of this video card without running Windoze.

2 out of 5 eggsHuh???

This review is from: Visiontek Radeon 5450 1GB DDR3 (DVI-I, HDMI, VGA)

Pros: Price was right for my purpose

Cons: Came in some goofy generic box, the card has dirt or what looks like it could even be mildew on the bottom of it, no disk in the box and it won't fire up...

4 out of 5 eggsGood card for it's price

This review is from: Visiontek Radeon 5450 1GB DDR3 (DVI-I, HDMI, VGA)

Pros: Price, works for the reason I bought it
Fast shipping

Cons: None so far

Other Thoughts: I recently bought Diablo 3 and tried to play it on my HD 4250 intergraded graphics. No luck. So I bought this. Works great with no lag even with the settings almost all the way up.

Newegg fast shipping as always.

5 out of 5 eggsReliable

This review is from: Visiontek Radeon 5450 1GB DDR3 (DVI-I, HDMI, VGA)

Pros: Works as advertised

Cons: none for me

Other Thoughts: I have bought several of these for dual monitor use in an office setting. I have had zero issues and they do what they are supposed to do. No fancy packaging, no frills...they just work.

4 out of 5 eggsHD vid looks great.

This review is from: Visiontek Radeon 5450 1GB DDR3 (DVI-I, HDMI, VGA)

Pros: Didn't cost much and works out of the box. HD video content looks great. No install and/or driver issues at all.

Cons: Loses one egg based on value.

Other Thoughts: The HD 5450 was well thought of a couple years ago as a great HTPC GPU for the price. Needed a card for that purpose for a new board with no onboard graphics and this one popped up near the top in search of PCIE 2.0 x 16, based on price. After purchase I noticed some higher end AMD GPU's for the same or few bucks less when searching 2.1 x 16. Not a gamer so it won't make a difference for my purpose but it would have been a no-brainer to upgrade at the same price or less. The fault is mine for not noticing, but it deserves an egg knocked off for value. Never understood why most cards end up heat sink down, it get's hot but not expecting any problems. This replaced onboard HD 4250 w/sideport mem. on a different board. Win experience index took a 0.5 point hit, from 4.6 down to 4.1, for desktop/Aero graphics. But, a 0.5 point gain, from 4.9 to 5.4, for 3D and Gaming. Read this in other reviews so not unexpected. Regardless, I think HD video actually looks a bit cleaner and sharper comparing both GPU's without enhancements. Maybe that Windows rating is just bunk. Good card for HD, not expensive and no problems with install or function so far.

5 out of 5 eggsSo far so good

This review is from: Visiontek Radeon 5450 1GB DDR3 (DVI-I, HDMI, VGA)

Pros: Easy installation. Everything is working fine after installing. Windows 7 switched automatically to graphic card after driver installation. I do not play games, but I can watch HD movies at max resolution, and I like it.

Nice upgrade to my AMD Athlon X2 CPU and Foxconn mother board with on-board graphics. Did not have dedicated card before. I think most important thing for me was the backward compatibility with first generation PCIexpress. I have version one on motherboard. VisionTEk techsupport is super helpful. I sent three emails, got answer within 24 hours. They told me all their cards are compatible with PCIe version 1.

Cons: None so far. I did not test with games. It was not free!

5 out of 5 eggseMachines Upgrade

This review is from: Visiontek Radeon 5450 1GB DDR3 (DVI-I, HDMI, VGA)

Pros: Works well in my old eMachines ET1352-01. Using the HDMI out with Audio to connect to my 50" flat screen. Great picture and sound. Netflix, YouTube and HDHomeRun all work Great! Card runs cool for not having a fan.

Cons: None for my use.

Other Thoughts: I also added a better power supply (I had lying around) and upgraded the system memory to 4GB and the operating system to Windows 7 Pro. I am now using the system as a HTPC. I am pretty happy considering I was ready to toss it thing in the trash!

5 out of 5 eggshmmmm

This review is from: Visiontek Radeon 5450 1GB DDR3 (DVI-I, HDMI, VGA)

Pros: Seems to work fine. Put into a DC5850 for HTPC.
250w psu.

Cons: Now here is the weird thing. I didn't actually get this card....I got the VisionTek 400750 Radeon HD 5450 1GB DDR3 PCI Express 2.1 x16 HDCP Ready Video Card same as and earlier post. It came sealed in cellophane. Called newegg to let them know that I got the wrong card in a box labeled for the card I wanted..lol... weird anyway costumer service was really helpful offered refund all that. But I kept it anyway who cares same card more or less didn't want to wait a week for a new one. So no eggs loss.

Other Thoughts: You might get the wrong card :S but w/e.
