1 out of 5 eggsWorst video card I ever had

Pros: Low price (after rebate), low profile.

Cons: Low quality, unreliable video card. No technical support. No warranty service

Other Thoughts: I got this card to replace my previous video card which lasted for 7 years. This card has "life time warranty". But it died after two months of light use. I come to the XFX support web site and raised "support ticket". No one looked at my ticket for weeks. Therefore, this XFX video card is scrappy and have ZERO warranty. You should not buy this video card

Manufacturer Response:

Hello, At this time our support systems are all but caught up. If you havent been taken care of, please email me at neweggsupport@xfxforce.com and I will be happy to help you. Thank you

3 out of 5 eggsIssues with 1080p

Pros: Fanless, decent overclocking headroom and temps stay low.

GPU: 680 mHz
Memory (RAMDAC): 600 mHz

Cons: Getting stutter when playing 1080p Youtube Videos

Other Thoughts: I bought this for a budget build. Fresh install and the latest drivers and having issues with stutter for 1080p flash videos. 720p is smooth. Maybe due to the somewhat low memory bandwidth at 32 bit?

For Windows Experience Index it originally scored a 2.2/5.2, after overclock that improved to 3.2/5.6 but the very noticeable stutter while playing back 1080p flash did not appear to improve after overclock.

Host machine: Athlon II X2 240, 4GB DDR3, OCZ SSD

Note: I had the 240 CPU in my pc a few years ago with DDR2 RAM, and a conventional HDD. Was running a HD4830 GPU and had absolutely 0 issues with stutter or lag no matter what quality of video i threw at it, so I'm fairly certain it is a limitation of this card.

4 out of 5 eggsCannot Claim Rebate

Pros: Ubuntu 12.10 (64) installed driver cleanly. Works okay. You Tube runs fine, photo processing with Raw Therapee is crisp. Quiet, of course. Card installs easily and does not run into motherboard components.

Cons: Cannot find this model amongt the ten listed in the rebate web page. Knock one point off rating. Hope someone can tell me how to claim the $10 rebate.

Screen window movement is a little jerky, compared with an older slower machine with a 3 year old (similar low end) Nvidia card. Same OS, same KVM, same monitor. Wanted to knock off half a point, but that is not possible.

4 out of 5 eggsBad shipping

Pros: Plug and play. No fan to burn out and completly quiet.

Cons: My system reads it as slower than the card I'm replacing. I'm really just reveiwing this too rag on the shipping again. Newegg always used UPS for shipping and that meant two or three days. Now they send it the other way first just to drop it in the mail and it takes a week, super saver my ...!

5 out of 5 eggsCheap card for initial configuration purposes

Pros: This card is affordable and can meet the needs of most workstations. It worked great for initial configuration purposes in my new X79 based system.

Cons: WEI rating of 2.2 for Aero Desktop Performance looks bad next to all those 7.8's and 7.9's. Gaming graphics rate 5.5.

Other Thoughts: Despite the low WEI rating, this card can handle most non-gamer desktop needs, and probably older games or even newer ones with some of the bells and whistles turned off. Not bad considering the price.
Eventually I'll switch to my 4870 when I gut my older machine, though.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks for my needs

Pros: Easy Install, Ubuntu picked up immediately. Plays Full screen YouTube HD movies without a drop in frame rate like on-board hd 3000 did. Can deff tell the difference between the RGB and HDMI outputs.

Cons: Non so far

Manufacturer Response:

We are happy to hear that you are enjoying your purchase. If you ever experience any problems or have questions then please feel free to contact our support staff at xfxforce.com. Thank you.

5 out of 5 eggsworks good

Pros: does exactly what its suppose to. I gave it 5 eggs because you have to realize this isnt a gaming graphics card, but it will play most games fairly well. It will play all of the slightly older games at mid - ultra settings depending on the game.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: Remember this is an entry level graphics card. So if you plan on running modern games then op for the 5850 or higher

4 out of 5 eggsNot Dell SFF ready

Pros: Cheap, HDMI

Cons: Will not fit a Dell Optiplex Small Form Factor PC. The heat sink is about 5/8 of an inch too high to fit in the Dell case.
