5 out of 5 eggsan excellent card

Pros: This card is a powerhouse that can deliver great performance at 1080p. I play all game at 1080p at the highest setting. The only real concession is when it comes to AA. Its either low AA or off for me but there is the cpu to factor in with that. Games include Battlefield 3&4, Crysis 3 plus benchmarks for Tomb raider and Metro: Last Light.

Cons: Good amount of noise comming off of it when fans are above 75%. Not irritating but noticable. Non issue with headphones and you'll tune it out when gaming. Movies won't push it enough to really heat the card up so you won't really hear it if just watching movies. I have an HD 7770 that's actually louder then this. Was able to get an ok OC but not great. That's the luck of the draw so no egg drop for that. (Core from 1050 to 1125 & memory from 1400 to 1450) I haven't messed with voltage but you can use itooll from website if you choose.

Other Thoughts: A solid gpu at a solid value. You won't play recent titles at a constant 60fp at 1080p. In depending on game usually you'll play around 40's to mid 50's for most game and low 30's to mid 40's for those titles that are know for being graphic behemoths. Also you can generally trade off AA by droping down quality. For ex. instead of ultra no AA you can go with very high or high with max AA. My personal choice is max quality at the expense of AA when need be. Bear in mind that older games will less of issue.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Bargin Card

Pros: A great card for the money. My 3DMark - Sky Diver test score went from 5900 on my old Radeon HD 5770 1GB (also HIS brand) to 11300 on this new R9 270X, and would have been higher if not for my aging CPU which can't handle physics very well.

I took it for a spin in Sniper Elite 3, Dishonored, and modded Fallout: New Vegas, and it performed great with graphics options set around high.

It's also quieter than my 5770 was, which although not a top priority for me personally, is nice.

In testing so far, it hasn't risen above 57C, and I like having a cool system.

At the time I bought this, AMD was having a promotion offering 3 free games, which is always nice.

Cons: It is a little on the large size, so make sure that you have some room in your case. Of course, most video cards are rather large these days, that it's not really much of a con.

Other Thoughts: This was likely the final upgrade for my aging pc before I build a new one. I'm only looking to get another year or two out of it, so this video card at this price was a great deal for the performance boost that I got. My motherboard has an AM3 socket, not the newer AM3+, so I'm pretty much stuck with my Phenom II 965, which is getting a little outdated and likely the reason why my benchmarks aren't higher. I think that this is a fantastic video card for systems with older CPU's or a budget minded gaming pc. That being said, if you have a newer, better CPU, I'd recommend spending more money and getting an R9 280, R9 290, or Nvidia equivalent.

5 out of 5 eggsgreat cards

Pros: I own two of these bad boys and I'll say I'm impressed. I'm glad I got them on sale earlier this year. Both worked great in crossfire together and separately. About 8months of ownership and I started getting screen tearing and the screen freezing up or pc just crashing. Wasn't sure what it was but I took it out of crossfire and tested each card separately and found that one of these guys is starting to go bad. HIS warranty support was great. They got back to me within a day and we got it shipped no problem.

Cons: They did however tell me repairs could take up to four weeks. Not sure if that's standard in the industry or not but as a first pc build I think it's reasonable. I'd definitely buy from them again.

5 out of 5 eggsgreat card

Pros: powerful card out of the box. every card is a little different but in my expirence an easily overclockable card, well above stock and still stable. for the price you can't beat it, plays anything i throw at it.

Cons: no voltage control, not really a con unless your going for extrime overclocking.
other than that nothing.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat deal while on sale for $180

Pros: Good GPU for the cost

Was on sale for $180 with 2 free games

Cons: limited Vram might be a issue later on

Doesn't meet the recommended requirements of some newer games.

Other Thoughts: I bought this GPU while on sale to put into my back up rig...

FX 8320
8gb 1600
Win7 64

I'm using this GPU in my general use PC. It's overkill for its intended purpose, but it's nice to know I have such a powerful GPU as a back up if my main rig (4770k/780/16gb) 780 ever has to be sent in for repairs.

This GPU is held back by my 8320, not the other way around. I would happily use it in my main gaming rig.

IMO you don't need much more power in a AMD system since the FX cpu will hold back this level of GPU from hitting its full potential.

*If I were buying a R9 270x for my main system, I'd stick to the 4gb models for future proofing.

4 out of 5 eggsBad Start but Looking Good

Pros: Runs really cool. Lowest it got was 37c on aircool and really destroys most games I'm playing so I'm really satisfied with the purchase

Cons: Got a defective card when I bought it. It runs really really hot at around 50c (Idle) and gets up to (90c+) just by watching a youtube video and I had to stop it so it won't black out. Had to wait a week to get it replaced.

Other Thoughts: If you're just an above average gamer buy this and you'll be happy for a few years.

5 out of 5 eggsWonderful

Pros: Very quite!
Doesn't get very hot.
Runs smoothly on highest setting in most games.
Amazing price, best bang for your buck.

Cons: Power inputs seem a little unstable, but nothing major.
The included "free" games is a complete lie, as I was charged extra for them and had no option to opt out of it.

5 out of 5 eggsfast and cool

Pros: Runs great! Cool and fast. Ran 3dmark11 and it topped out at 53c. Replaced an aging hd 6850. Benchmarks show double the performance. I can now run WoW on ultra and keep fps pegged at 60 with vsync on. Vsync off the fps go up to ~90. Haven't overclocked it yet and don't really see the need. Diablo 3 runs smoother on high than it did with the old card. Also runs Guild wars 2 on high or ultra and Star Wars the old republic as well on high.

Cons: None. I didn't buy it from newegg so I didn't get the free games. But I did get it about 60 bucks less on e bay.

Other Thoughts: According to the seller he purchased it from newegg and decided to get something more powerful and used it about a month. All in all this card seems to be really good, rebranded 7870 or not. And also at the 180-200 price point it's the best bang for the buck.

4 out of 5 eggsR9 270x from HIS

Pros: 1. Price was reasonable.
2. HIS has a good track record for me.
3. Card specs were above reference design.

Cons: 1. Really cheap -- no HDMI adapters for legacy connectors since this only has ONE DVI ports.
2. No game bundle.

Other Thoughts: Make sure you pick up an adapter for a second display if still using legacy ports.
