Pros: Excellent performance when recording in MPEG-2.
Clear picture, no dropped frames, and sound syncs perfectly.

Cons: Cant handle H.264 encoding

Other Thoughts: MPEG-2 also yields very small file sizes. On average, a 10min Black Ops 2 game is only 500mb.

Pros: Gotta Say. About the best way to stream and record for a low budget.

Pros: this card works great under win 7. wish it works on windows server. haven't found no problem so far. i stream live video with this baby 24/7.

Pros: when streaming there will ALWAYS be lag between what you do and what the viewers are seeing. this lag is caused by bandwidth, your ISP, the encoders, and hardware on your computer. to me it sounds like you need to talk to your ISP, but remember THERE WILL ALWAYS BE LAG!!!!

Pros: A very affordable way to live stream and record game play from any modern console. I have so far managed to get an Xbox 360 to work with HDMI, a PS3 to work with HDMI, a PS2 to work with component and a Game Cube to work with component as well. It has served its purpose so far in the testing phase of the device. It wasn't advertised to work with PS2 or Game Cube so I was quite happy to see that it did (though in theory it should anyway since it accepts component input).

Cons: At least for me, I have to restart my computer often in order to get it to display anything in HDMI or component converted to VGA mode. Out of the box it worked just fine but shortly after running other apps like Steam, browsers, instant messaging, etc, it stopped displaying anything. A restart fixed the problem but once again, any other app running eventually leads to a blank black screen which requires a restart to fix.

I also noticed that despite my computer's specs meeting and exceeding the requirements for streaming live HD, even without streaming as HD there is a massive delay between what is being recorded and what is displaying on the screen for those watching the stream. I can confirm this because I was in communication with the individuals watching the stream the whole time I was streaming. I did find this to be disappointing.

Other Thoughts: Overall, it is a decent device for the money, but I am left wishing I sprung more for an independent, external box rather than an internal card. At least I am able to use it for the main thing I wanted to use it for, so I am happy enough about that. Still, spending even this kind of money on something, I would like it to do everything that it is advertised to do (and correctly, without the need to hold its hand most of the time). Even the ability to record consoles not advertised to work with it isn't enough to save it from this disappointing issue for me.

Pros: Does 4:2:2 color space and full 1080P, not alot of money

Cons: This has to be the worst set of settings software that I ever saw, no explanation of settings, many adjustements allowed but will often produce ureadable files.

Great potential that is marred by horrible software

Pros: - Captures at 1080p30! Don't be confused! It captures your 1080p 60hz picture! It just only plays it back at 30fps which is fine for me but for some people this can be the selling point. So... just throwing that out there.
- Software is easy to use and work with. No problems like the other reviewers are listing where you have to switch between HDMI and D-Sub. I do not have this issue.
- Works fine with XSplit and HDMI including sound on the Xbox 360. I have an Xbox 360 Elite and it captures my video/audio very well. When you have the capture device open in XSplit, it will play back your audio. So if anyone was wondering how XSplit captures the audio. It just plays it back and captures it that way :). Easy.

Cons: - Doesn't Capture at 1080p 60fps. It captures at 1080p 30fps. I knew this buying it but to some viewers, like I said above, this may be a crucial buying point. It does however capture 30 of the 60fps so... maybe they might patch in 1080p60fps in the future? I can tell the card is capable :)
- Doesn't make me sammiches... or breakfast... but it sure shows a great movie from time to time ;-)

Other Thoughts: This card is really amazing. This is for those who really aren't too sure about the AverMedia Live Gamer HD and they want a lower costing 1080p capture card. This is definitely the way to go. Runs perfectly smooth on my PC on HDMI so I'd say... buy this :D

Pros: Only capture card to feature VGA connection to allow you to use MLG video settings (1920x1080).

Cons: The video stutters most of the time. I restart my computer, restart my xbox, and turn on the AverMedia capture software, and everything seems to be working just fine. Then, about 15 minutes into use, the video will start to lag and stutter. Also, a very common issue affecting many people is that the video will not show up at first, and you have to select between HDMI and D-Sub a couple times before the video comes in.

Other Thoughts: I have an Intel Core 2 Quad processor @ 2.5 GHz. I have my video coming from my Xbox 360 to an HD StarTech 2-Port video splitter (capable of resolutions much higher than 1920x1080). I use high quality 3-foot VGA cables to connect to my screen and computer. I put my theme on Windows 7 Basic. No other program is running. I start the software, and it works for about 15 minutes, and then it all starts stuttering again.

I also use XSplit Broadcaster, and I originally thought that was the problem with the video stuttering/lag. However, I try to change the incoming resolution down to things like 640x360, but it still stutters the video. So then I completely exit out of XSplit, and launch the AverMedia software that goes with the device, and what do you know? It still lags/stutters.

I really really wanted this to be a good product. I was so exited to find a capture card that had VGA input. That was what really made me choose it over the Black Intensity Pro.

Please check and make sure that you are using the latest drivers for the Graphics card on your computer. If you are using an older version please install the latest version from the manufacturer's website.

Verify that the issue is not caused by using the Startech 2-Port video splitter. Connect VGA from PC directly to Game Broadcaster and test the signal using AVer MediaCenter.
