1 out of 5 eggsMediasonic ESATA card makes computer not work

Pros: none

Cons: This card made my new PC not even want to boot. It either is messing with the bus speed or is on the same IRQ as another device. I don't need it and it came free with the super micro motherboard as a promo. I'd like to return this for a refund!

4 out of 5 eggsGood 4Bay unit

Pros: It works with AMD ans Intel system on 32bit and 64bit system

Cons: Cheap very weak so must be care ful with it
No estat card so you need to buy your own

Other Thoughts: This unit is great if you want to add 4 hard drives to your pc with eSATA or USB 3.0

Word of advise to AMD users with 64bit OS
1- USB 3.0 is great and does not need port multiplier
2- You need to buy SYBA SD-SA2PEX-2E PCI-Express x1 SATA II (3.0Gb/s) Controller Card as per Mediasonic support
3- Support real phone number: 1-905-305-6317
4-Turn of sync look at manual page number 2

Hope this help

4 out of 5 eggseSATA Adapter

Pros: The card is a well constructed device. Once drivers were loaded all installed drives showed up in Device Manager.

Cons: No software drivers included from Newegg or instructions on whether drivers are needed or where to obtain them.

Other Thoughts: The price offered in the bundle caused me concern as being very cheap, but Mediasonic, has produced for the price, a good item.

2 out of 5 eggsUnpopulated Internal Port Pads = No go

Pros: The price might be reasonable during a promotion (such as Free after MIR).

Cons: One can clearly see from the product images that this is a card designed for two additional internal SATA ports, but the solder pads are unpopulated. That just turns me off. I actually went and looked for the full version, but it's not sold here.

Other Thoughts: Were the version with the added ports available, I'd consider picking that one up.

3 out of 5 eggsNo docs equals a headache

Pros: Low cost, even when it doesn't come free. Seems to work well once you get in properly installed.

Cons: Absolutely no instructions or indication that you need to go to their website to get drivers. Hangs system and/or Windows with some of their versions in combination with your system and storage box. Can be a real PITA to get everything working right.

Other Thoughts: If they are too cheap to include the drivers, then they could have at least provided a note instructing you to get them from their website with the link. It would have saved myself and a lot of other folks on their forum the time and frustration wondering why things aren't working out of the box.

2 out of 5 eggsThese cards don't play nice

Pros: The card worked well for nine months but I didn't use it much.

Cons: I added in a Rosewill RC-505(2 port USB 3.0 PCIe) card and the external drive bay stopped being able to identify the 4 drives. No clue which is at fault......the drive bay.....the RC-505...Win7.

Other Thoughts: Updated all the drivers. Looked to be poor support/no drivers on the Mediasonic site. Had to find the drivers in a forum that pointed me to another web site.

5 out of 5 eggsMediasonic Port Multiplier Card

Pros: Inexpensive. Easy to set up. Using with Windows 7 as a port multiplier for a quad bay SATA III Mediasonic ProBox. Download the drivers from their site.
