3 out of 5 eggsCheap for a Reason

Pros: -Inexpensive.
-Good number of connectors.
-Good for basic, value conscious builds.

Cons: -VERY cheap feeling.
-Noisy fans.
-No PCI-E power connections for video cards.
-Not a brand known for reliability.

Other Thoughts: This unit is cheap and cheap for a reason. The price is good but the unit feels cheap, it uses basic fans that are noisy, it won't power a video card and while I've never had problems with them, there are a lot of stories of these having poor reliability. Definitely only use it in builds that are basic and price conscious but if that's your goal, I've had good experiences thus far.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Cheap with a fair power output.

Cons: The wires are fairly stiff and take a bit of untangling. The power cord that came with it is too loose, so I had to pull one from a tower I had lying around.

Other Thoughts: Great for a cheap replacement, not necessarily a gaming build. Be sure to keep your old power cord.

1 out of 5 eggsSecond one I got fried four components

Pros: It came with an old case I found laying around, so I used the power supply from it. I've had my original one since 2006, but it recently failed, so I bought another one.
Cheap
Lasted me 9 years

Cons: The fan in the back is really loud, even when idle
The fan on the one I owned for three days made a grinding noise that I could only fix by sticking something in the back of it and stopping it. I only had to do this a few times.
Somewhat cheaply made
The SATA power fried three of my hard drives, and my CD drive. This was the third one I ordered, about four days later. I don't know what happened, but after running my computer for minute, I smelt something burning, and turned it off immediately. I opened the case, and didn't see anything, so I turned it back on. There was a half inch ark, or surge of electricity coming out of one of the SATA power connecters. I unplugged it, and it turned out it cooked everything connected to SATA power, as well as caught fire.

Other Thoughts: I would have given this a good rating because of the 9 year life of the first one, but I am REALLY mad that it fried three of my hard drives, and I couldn't recover ANY of the data. Had I not turned it off, it could have burned my house down. Please consider buying power supplies with better quality control.

5 out of 5 eggsI bought this ps in 2009

Pros: Excellent, Stable. Switch on the back (for emergency shut offs). Light, smooth clear finish.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: I bought this Power Supply in 2009. It has yet to lose power, or break, or fail.

5 out of 5 eggsDoes it's job

Pros: Works Great
Powers everything I need

Cons: Minor

Other Thoughts: Make sure to clean the fan inside, mine got a little clogged with dust and made a horrible squealing sound as if it was going to explode. Other than that, works fine for the price.

2 out of 5 eggsStill works, but...

Pros: Worked well for a good year and a half
Simple and easy

Cons: Failed after 1.5 yrs, too short a lifespan for a PS.

1 out of 5 eggsPOORLY MADE

Pros: LOOKS GREAT AND MATCH WITH HIGHER END BLACK CASE

Cons: WE BUILD AT LEAST 100 PC A YEAR AND FOR THE LAST TWO YEARS HAVE BEEN USING THESE POWER SUPPLIES. OUR COMPUTERS FOR THE LAST TWO YEARS HAVE MANY ISSUES WITH BLUE SCREENS AND POWER SUPPLY SMOKING. ONLY RECENTLY DID WE REALIZED THAT THIS WAS THE CAUSE. HAVEN'T HAVE ONE ISSUES SINCE USING A DIFFERENT BRAND. STAY AWAY

4 out of 5 eggsNot a true 480w

Pros: I bought the PSU to power an AMD APU (a10 6800k) and a 750 ti ftw w/ acx. Did just fine

Cons: The PSU itself as well as the wires look extremely cheap. Doesn't look very pretty in your build case

Other Thoughts: I ran this PSU fine up until I decided to swap to a r9 280x in which I switched to a cx750m to feed the power hungry gpu. Probably wont ever go real cheap like that again on a PSU. The CXM is cheap too however just with the few extra bucks spent you can really see the quality difference. I have a new build currently in the works and I've already purchased a SeaSonic X-1250. I probably wont ever go cheap again on PSU's. Learned my lesson. However both the Logisys and CXM still work fine.

5 out of 5 eggsDoes what it says

Pros: Great Price! Seems to still be working great almost 6 months later.

Cons: None (although some others that cost a little more have fancy colorful fans)

Other Thoughts: Keep up the good work Newegg!
