An important tip from one of our users: don't just check total power output, find out what you need in the way of current on each power rail. If you need 20 A on your +12V rails and the supply only has 15A, it doesn't matter how many watts the supply puts out: don't buy it. Make certain that you have ENOUGH rails, too: sometimes, you need more than just two +12V rails for your setup.

Replacing an existing power supply is easier: just get a replacement that meets or exceeds the specifications of the old one. (You can usually find those printed on the side of the supply.)

That said, here's a power supply that is compatible with most ATX format motherboards, puts out 575 watts of power (see specifications for exact distribution) at a great price. Could this be your next power supply?

2 out of 5 eggsFailed after 1 year 4 months

Pros: Cheap
Worked for over a year

Cons: Failed after 1 year 4 months

Other Thoughts: I had previously given it 5 stars but it just failed yesterday while gaming. It was very cheap and worked well for over a year so I won't give it 1 star. For durability though, I cannot recommend this product. Power supplies should last for years and years if they are built well. Sorry Logisys, I cannot purchase on of your products again.

5 out of 5 eggsGETIN OLD

Pros: I've been running these since the 8800GT days this will run 2 GTs did it for 2 years same PS.Bought 2 more 18$ to run my 260 and 4850 both are still running.Hooked a new one to 4950 and in Blew in 5 seconds. Now running one in a 5850 and a 460 with no problems.8 of these in 8 years not once have had any loud noise out of any of them.

Cons: Can't really use these any more there just not enough to run the new cards.Plus i'm now using a 55 Plasma use these for my 32 led.

Other Thoughts: I've bought 10 of these over 8 years and only 2 went out 1 was over 5 years old the other my 4890 was to much power hungry. That means 8 are still working not bad thats 200 $ for 10 average price over 8 years and 8 are still working.I'm using one now on my Q 6700 4 Core with GTX460. 3-4 years old PC. Thank You LOGISYS saved me alot of Money over the Years.

2 out of 5 eggsDon't buy

Pros: As far as I can tell, it operates :s Beyond the fact that it has never 'crapped out on me' I'd say it does its job.

Cons: It's noisy as hell. I find I get headaches because of the constant noise factor over a period of time in front of the computer and I can't use a standard mic because nobody can hear me over the 'jet engine in the background'.

Other Thoughts: If you want to keep in cheap, go for this...if you want to keep your sanity, don't.

2 out of 5 eggsFailed after two months

Pros: Came with 2 x 6 pin power connectors for my GPU, and had decent overhead for my complete build.

Cons: Went dead in a little over 2 months, i can see a burnt component inside the housing just looking in from the vents. It worked just fine when it did. I've called Logisys customer support and it goes to voicemail. Ive left a couple messages with no reply.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Installed in 2007 and still going strong.

Cons: One lead was just a little short on a full size tower but I was able to make it work.

Other Thoughts: Good power supply if you are only running a couple hard drives and need ide as well as SATA connectors

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Cheap, relatively high wattage. If your looking for a temporary PSU or are not making a serious rig, this PSU will work fine.

Cons: I had a hell of a time trying to power my mother board with the extremely short wires. Ended up retiring this within a month for another PSU with longer cords and that future proof's the system.

5 out of 5 eggsPower Supply for a budget...

Pros: Its relatively quite and it looks good with its clear blue fans and black enclosure. Perfect for someone on a small budget.

Cons: The clear blue fans dont light up...... sad =( ..... would have gone well with the blue lights on the tower i put it in.... oh well nothing to lose eggs over.

Other Thoughts: Nope

4 out of 5 eggsNot bad, crossfire ready

Pros: Actually worked for the price, handled crossfire, super cheap, lasted this long

Cons: extremely loud-upgraded yesterday just because i was sick of the noise alone

Other Thoughts: This little guy has been going strong for over a year, no overclocking or hardcore power usage but hey, that's not what i needed it for. Set up 2 6850's in crossfire and wasn't expecting it to work but this little thing pulled it off like a champ. Super loud but i got my $25 out of it
