INTRODUCTION

ST60F-PS

To meet the requirements of current and future desktop computers, SilverStone created the Strider Gold S series power supplies. The Strider Gold S models are all new designs engineered to be the smallest, full-modular ATX power supplies at any Wattage levels.

The Strider Gold S series includes wattage range from 550W to 1500W for a great variety of applications. With short depth designs, all models in the series are among the world's smallest full-modular ATX PSUs. In addition to 80 PLUS Gold level efficiency, the Strider Gold S PSUs are built to meet very high standards in electrical performance with ±3% voltage regulation, ±3% ripple & noise, and high amperage single +12V rail. Other notable features included are 24/7 104°F (40°C) continuous output capability, low-noise fan, and multiple sets of PCI-E cables. For users looking for a power supply with faultless combination of compact size, performance, efficiency, and quality, the Strider Gold S Series is the only choice.

Pros: None

Cons: I thought I was choosing a non budjet , good quality PSU. The lights on the case & motherboard would come on momentarily then turn off. Tried emailing Silverstone to help me test to see whether the problem was with the PSU or the mother board for my latest build. Wouldn't post, nothing. Their response was to check Youtube for a test method. REALLY! I had already done some research on it and the consensus was to jump out the green wire with any black wire on the main lead .This PSU's main lead wire is not color coded. ALL the wires are black so they were really a big help. I decided to try a 20 pin PSU from an old computer. I didn't know if it would work with the 24 pin motherboard but it fired right up. Don't know what made me pick this over the Raidmax which I've used before and loved all the extra's that came with it or the Thermotake I wound up buying. Have no problem with either one so far.

Other Thoughts: I think it really sucks having to pay for return shipping on defective items. I can understand if you changed your mind or ordered something that's not compatible with your project but to have to pay two way shipping on defects is just not right. I would bet that most Newegg customers are buying a lot of parts and spending a lot of money. Meanwhile you want to get your build done ASAP to be sure other defective items are discovered while still under warranty.

1 out of 5 eggsSILVERSTONE Strider Gold Series..

Pros: Looks very well built compared to other brands. Does not look cheaply made at all.

Cons: Started making a weird humming sound after only having it for a short time. Searched online about the problem only to find others having the same issue with theirs dying a month later.. Will call Tech support tmrw morning when they're open. I hope the problem could be fixed because i really liked the power supply.

Pros: none

Cons: The power supply was dead right out the box.Only one power rail was sending power and it was wrong. This was a shame cause I have always had good luck with silverstone.

Other Thoughts: I understand that any company can have a lemon or two I will buy silverstone products

4 out of 5 eggsGreat psu!

Pros: Really stable system. I am doing lots of extreme overclocking an this thing has performed beautifully so far. It's reliable, it's great for cable management, and the designers can shove it.

Cons: I tried removing the pins from the connectors for 2 hours so I could sleeve them with not a single ounce of luck. So naturally I went on line to buy some aem sleeved cables and guess who the only seller seems to be? You got it. Silverstone had made it impossible to remove the cables so you will be more likely to buy theirs. That is why I deducted a star. You shouldn't have to pay for sleeved cables when you should be able to do it yourself.
