3 out of 5 eggsIt works so far ...BUT

Pros: Price was right and it does power the server.

Cons: Listed as being a compatible replacement for Dell PowerEdge SC 440 Server. But it's not really.

1 - Not a perfect fit - It fits in place, but does leave an open gap in the back plane.
2 - Power cables are too short to reach both SATA Hard Drives. I managed to get one SATA drive connected, but not the other. Extension are needed to connect both.
3- SATA connectors are straight, not "L" connectors. "L" shaped adapters are need in order to close the Chassis cover.

Other Thoughts: Bottom line is. It will work as a replacement for the Dell PowerEdge SC 440, but not out of the box.

Manufacturer Response:

We at Athena Power apologize for the inconvenience. We will take your corcerns and comments to our factory if you ahve any other concerns or issues with our product please feel free contact us at service@athenapower.us or call us at (626) 810-5008.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Fits Dell Dimension 8400 perfectly using the 2 original screws.

Working fine now for over a month hooked up to 2 internal SATA hard drives, an SATA DVD drive, and a CD-ROM drive.

Cons: None so far. I'll post again if I encounter any problems.

Original Dell power supply worked for 6 years with no problems, then 2 more years with intermittent problems.

Other Thoughts: Blue LED mentioned by others is *inside* the unit on mine. You can see it by looking through fan opening in the back. It does *not* light up the room.

2 out of 5 eggsAthena Power Supply

Pros: The item is small and fits loosely in the case. It is very quiet and works OK for now. I had to play with the back of the computer case so I can screw in the screws, but fits fine and seems to be secured.

Cons: I had to order a second power supply because the first one that I received came in defective. I then had to pay for the return shipping, which I don't agree since I received a defective product. Either way besides the inconvenience and extra money to return the first power supply, the item is working OK so far.

Manufacturer Response:

We at Athena Power apologize for the inconvenience and if there is still trouble with this PSU please let us know and we will be happy to assist you and provide you with a call-tag for the next RMA if you so need it. Thank you.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks GREAT!

Pros: My customer's Dell Dimension 8400 PSU died and this is a direct replacement. The Dell 8400 OEM PSU is proprietary because the power cord socket is not in the standard PSU position. This PSU fits in the Dell 8400 case perfectly.

Cons: I paid more because I didn't buy it here.
I needed it immediately.
Bought at local MC.

Other Thoughts: This PSU is actually a little smaller (depth only) than the Dell OEM PSU, but does not hinder the installation.
Working great for over 5 months.

2 out of 5 eggs

Pros: It powers my machine.

Cons: It surges all the time. When I first built my computer over 2 years ago, it would randomly shut off 2 or 3 times a day due to power surges. After a week or so, though, it became a lot more stable. I figured this was just because I bought a cheap motherboard, but since replacing it with a new motherboard last week, I'm still continuing to experience issues with the power supply. Every time I turn my computer on my motherboard tells me it detected surges. And every once in a while, while using the computer, it'll get choppy and slow and eventually shut down. As far as I can tell, this is because it's failing to properly juice my system. But I'm not an expert, just my opinion after changing everything but the power supply and still having the same issues.

Other Thoughts: Don't buy it. Seriously. Just spend a few extra minutes looking for something else.

Manufacturer Response:

We at Athena Power apologize for the inconvenience and the cause may be due to more high powered hardware, we would like to assist you and troubleshoot the issue. Please contact our service center at (626) 810-5008 or e-mail us at service@athenapower.us. Thank you.

1 out of 5 eggsDOA

Pros: Looks good

Cons: Came bundled with an all SATA system but has more molex than it does SATA. Very odd choice, Newegg.

Other Thoughts: Couldn't use it because it was dead.

Manufacturer Response:

We at Athena Power apologize for the inconvenience you are experiencing, please contact our service department right away so we can process an RMA for you and get you a new working PSU ASAP. 1 out of 5 eggsThis is junk

Pros: The short depth fits in my chassis. I have a space problem in this particular chassis.

Cons: This power supply failed after 3 hours of use. The unit was in an open area with no airflow obstructions. It was running an AMD CPU and motherboard, 8GB RAM and a single hard drive. No separate video card, no DVD, no peripherals. If I turned it off, let it sit and turned it back on, I could get another 10-15 minutes before failure. I noticed that, while the fan was running the entire time it was turned on, it really didn't move any air through the supply. The wires are pretty short, but they are just long enough to reach in the system.

Other Thoughts: I bought this power supply because I needed a unit for a router that I built. The unit just routes traffic. No graphics and very lower power and heat usage. I could easily have run this unit on a 250watt supply, so this 400w unit looked like overkill. Apparently not. Reading the reviews, I see that I am not the only one with issues.

Manufacturer Response:

We at Athena Power apologize for the inconvenience, we would like it if you can contact us at service@athenapower.us or call us at (626) 810-5008. Our service representatives will be happy to assist you and set you up with an RMA so you can get a working PSU. Thank you.

1 out of 5 eggsDOA

Pros: smaller than the supply it's replacing

Cons: Unit was DOA. Unfortunately I waited longer than 30days to install it (36 to be exact) so newegg won't help me. I have to ship it to the mfg on my dime for a replacement under warranty. Awesome.

Other Thoughts: Don't be lazy like me. Learn from my mistake and try your items out when you receive.

Manufacturer Response:

We at Athena Power want to apologize for the inconvenience you are experiencing, assuming you already have spoken with a service representative we would like to process this RMA for you ASAP so you can get your system up and running. Please contact us at service@athenapower.us or call us at (626) 810-5008 and providing us with your RMA number and we will have it done immediately. Thank you.

Works great but no Micro ATX

4 out of 5 eggs
Decent output, lots of connector options.

Beware, not a Micro-ATX supply

1 out of 5 eggs
It comes up under micro-atx power supply search, but it's just a short atx power supply.
