5 out of 5 eggsPower and Cable Management

Pros: When the product arrived I looked at the box and said to myself "Wow, what a nice box!". Then I opened the box and then I said "WOW, awesome packaging". You might be thinking that I am being silly but in all reality EVGA did awesome with their product and their packaging. The Power supply was gently wraped and a very nice cloth bag that was fitted exactly to it size. They even gave you another cloth bag just for your extra cables that you didn't use in your system. You are given plenty of cables to fit anything you need and the power supply itself looks pretty awesome. I mounted the power supply to my Thermaltake Chaser A71 and the position the fan down since the case provides bottom airflow for it. I noticed that their is an ECO mode switch on the back of the power supply but who is going to switch that to ECO mode with a gaming rig......your mom.....maybe. This power supply performs great and I am truely happy with this product.

Cons: Since I had to mount the power supply on the bottom of the case it does make it hard to reach the ECO switch but again....who is going to switch that to ECO......WHO?!?!?!

5 out of 5 eggsAnother good EVGA PSU

Pros: Quiet, efficient, modular, 1000w powers SLI fine. Enough cables to hook up all of all my current devices and more for the future. Good Warranty

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I was looking at this one or the PS version. This had a few pluses for me, and with a rebate at the time was cheaper. I have been slowly switching over to EVGA PSU's in my new builds, and have had no problems with them. Solid, quiet, and efficient, want more could you want in a PSU?

5 out of 5 eggsHasn't failed yet, unlike 2, $200 PSes in two years

Pros: Japanese caps (they claim, I believe them), modular, quieter than comparable from Corsair, Seasonic. Air intake is from inside the case, exhausts out the back so I don't have a coating of dust to clean off every few months.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: Replaced 2 other $200 ps's, one failed after six months, the other after a year.

5 out of 5 eggsCan't complain

Pros: Let's face it, none of us have real, proper equipments to measure PSU's authentic technical performances in a quantitative fashion, so I'm going to simply comment on things that work.

1. Eco-mode : it keeps this PSU from being audible while in a low-load situation, and primarily the reason why I chose this particular model over cheaper variants.
It really is noise-less unless you start putting heavy and/or synthetic loads on your system.

2. Cables : its long black-sleeved design looks and feels more premium quality than some simple flat-rubber design seen in most other PSUs of this caliber. They not only look good, but are easier to work with inside the case as well.
I was also happy to see that they kept its length long enough so that it can reach your CPU pwr-pins with ease even in a full tower case.

3. Packaging/Quality - it comes very well protected in a premium quality package with multiple layers of protections, and I highly doubt anyone will ever received a unit damaged while being shipped.
As if this isn't enough, EVGA offers a 10-year warranty on this PSU.
My mind is at ease.

Cons: 1. Tacky Red cables - unless you are going for black-red build theme, the PCI-E pwr cables that come standard in bright red colors will clash with almost everything inside of your case.
I'm just not sure why EVGA chose not to go with the classic, fit-all, black.

2. PSU length - this unit, by far, is the longest PSU I've ever seen. My current full tower case could house it no problem now, but my options will be severely limited if the need arises in the future that I use this unit in some other enclosures.

Other Thoughts: Overall, it works.

There's nothing more we can really write about its performances without very expensive proper testing equipments.

2 out of 5 eggsSecond try

Pros: The second one is running, fairly quiet, and seems to be up to the power requirements. The RMA/replacement process with EVGA was not too bad, and the people were very pleasant to deal with. The only reason I give 2 eggs is because of those people, because the products they sell/service are off of my shopping list for good.

Cons: First one of these I bought was partially DOA, and after 6 or 7 reboots to diagnose, failed completely. The replacement EVGA sent destroyed my Caviar Black HDD and my Pioneer BD drive. Gigantic surge on initial fire-up, near as I could tell. I hooked this P/S to an old junk board and drive, and it worked okay. Put it back in my current rig, and it is behaving itself, for the moment. So, I spent a rather large coin on this thing, and after the disasters it engendered, a heck of a lot more. Had to buy 2 replacement drives, and lost some data that I can't (or am unwilling to) spend $700+ to recover.

Other Thoughts: I don't know the QA routine used for this company's products, but it certainly appears to be deficient. I have had P/S failures before, but absolutely nothing like the problems I have had with this "top of the line" EVGA unit. I didn't have to pay shipping twice, but paid a lot in downtime and destroyed equipment.

Pros: Works well. Seems solidly made. I like that you can plug in the wires you need to save some space in the case.

Cons: None that I can see.

1 out of 5 eggsDisappointed

Pros: High wattage
Nice looking
EVGA support as always is top notch.

Cons: I've been through 3 of these power supplies. First one worked for a while and then suddenly my computer started rebooting randomly. Intermittent power failure in various scenarios made it super hard to nail this down. But when I kept my computer in BIOS and experienced the issue again with individual sticks of RAM at a time and removed all unnecessary peripherals, I narrowed it down to either the PSU or Motherboard. That was my first time replacing the PSU. Got the RMA replacement, and replaced the device. started happening again a few days later. Replaced motherboard and experienced the same issue.
So, I ran the computer on two different PSU's. Ran the Motherboard on the EVGA PSU, ran all the extras on a separate PSU by jumping the pins on the motherboard connection of that PSU. Didn't have any problems. The computer ran fine for a couple weeks in this state. I decided it most definitely has to be the PSU tripping something with an overload false positive or something. Replaced the PSU again. That was the last straw. A week later, reboots happened again.

Other Thoughts: This has all occurred over a year of "just dealing with it" and switching to gaming on a console to get away from the frustration.

I've since bought a different brand altogether to see what happens. I've been up on that PSU for 3 weeks. No random reboots or issues. Are my issues truly resolved? I'm not sure...

I wish I didn't have this unreliable PSU sitting around though. Can't sell it with a clear conscience and can't use it. Can't return it for store credit (want that GTX 970 soooo bad!) and I didn't buy it directly from EVGA so their warranty will just replace the device... Bummer

5 out of 5 eggsProfessional.

Pros: Product is heavy duty professional. EVGA worked well with me on replacing a faulty motherboard wire. One of the wires was not properly crimped on the motherboard wiring. Overnight shipping got me a free replacement wiring in the mail! Thanks.

5 out of 5 eggsReliable, Performance, Quality

Pros: This unit Screams

Qualityof Super Flow
Performance
Reliability of Leadex 1000W
Efficiency
Quiet

After a long research into 80 PLUS PLATINUM Certified PSU. EVGA SuperNOVA 1000 P2 came strong and leave the competition behind. This is a very high quality build PSU I have ever used in my past years.

You can rest assure of a quality build since its based on BEYOND high end PSU maker SUPER FLOW based on Leadex 1000 W Platform. ECO mode is a life saver when you need your system to be dead silent.

10 Years Warranty combine with perfect efficiency it should pay itself off in that time easily.

It is expensive PSU and if you want to save some $$$ , you can always pick EVGA G2 1000W which does not offer some bells and whistles like little higher efficiency, Japanese caps and ECO button.

Cons: - Expensive

- EVGA bundled ugle RED PCI-Express cables.

- HUGE- make sure it will fit your system.

It does fit just fine at bottom of my Thermaltake Commander MS-I

Other Thoughts: 10 out of 10 and better product when compare to competition
