5 out of 5 eggsPerfect HTPC CPU

Pros: Silent, fast and cheap. Vista Ultimate x64 flies like a rocket with all its Aero bells'n'whistles.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Combined with AMD 780G it smokes any Intel solution in terms of overall performance per watt and overall performance per dollar. May not be worth your money if you are an extreme overclocker with big budget. In this case Intel CPUs are better suited for your needs.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat budget proc

Pros: Dual core, plenty of horsepower for Vista and Aero. Perfect for budget/green system for everyday use. Runs very cool with stock HSF, haven't seen it break 30C yet.

Cons: Only thing I can think of as a con is if they have indeed discontinued this processor - that would be a real shame.

Other Thoughts: If you're not looking to edit video or play games I say go for it and buy one. Heck, they're so cheap buy two. Paired with a 740g or 780g board you've got a pretty decent rig for not much cash.

5 out of 5 eggsLow power, can hold its own

Pros: Low power usage, can handle the simplest of tasks and windows aero in ultimate. dual core and decent cooler included. Cant beat the price but now it is discontinued.

Cons: had trouble with aero dreamscapes background runs 80% while downloading updates. not a gaming grinder proc. but wasn't purchased for that.

Other Thoughts: gigabyte 740g 2gb 4050e 500gb 430w internet machine. works great!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Processor!

Pros: AMD does it again! this is the first time that I have used this model processor from AMD and it worked Great! It is in a PC that I built for my wife at her place of work and it runs MS Office 07 and Peachtree Complete Accounting 07 without any problems.
I have 3 more of these that I am using to build student PC's at our school.
AMD is the only processor that I use in the PC's I build. Good price & Great Quality!

Cons: None!

Other Thoughts: Newegg, the only way to go!

5 out of 5 eggsPerfect little jewel

Pros: it runs on only 45 watts, i replaced my barton 2500+. I am running vista 64 with aero with absolutely no problem. paired it with 2 of corsair 800 2gig rams and this thing flys. I am a casual gamer and if you are not a hardcore gamer, this will work for you every penny.

Cons: it is not free?

Other Thoughts: at this price, anyone should buy this cpu.

5 out of 5 eggsNice low power CPU

Pros: Runs cool and low power needs met my expectations. Dual Core makes it powerful enough to do daily chores in multiple screens easy. Using it for my step-son's home computer for High School classwork and to surf the web. Not really for gamers I think, but meets all of his needs and saves me $ on electric bills and makes it a "Green" computer. Running Win XP Pro and Ubuntu Hardy Heron on dual boot with 2 Gig of RAM and low end MSI video card runs faster than expectations-could meet most people's needs for light duty use. Soon to run Vista with 2 more Gig of RAM.

Cons: None to think of if you are using it for what it was intended for.

4 out of 5 eggsBlu-Ray HTPC

Pros: Plays Blu-Ray flawlessly. Combine AMD 4050e cpu and AMD 780G/sb700 for hardware decoding. 30-40% cpu usage w/ PowerDvd BD

low cost, comes with heat sink and fan

Cons: Does not have 2x1mb cache!

It only has 2x512kb or 1x1mb cache...

Does not have a total of 2mb cache.

Other Thoughts: Suggested for HTPC
