5 out of 5 eggsKeeps on going

Pros: Bought this in 2008 for gaming and still use it for a home media server

Windows 8 runs great on it.

Going to build a Windows 8 HTPC with this solid CPU. The wattage is slightly high for a HTPC build but this still runs like a champ with a SSD so why get rid of it

Cons: After 4 years it still won't make me breakfast

5 out of 5 eggsUnbelievable durability

Pros: You can't kill it. It was super fast for it's time and for gaming, it's still pretty darn good with dual core and 3.1Ghz.....

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I upgraded my kids computer to a "new" quad core BE 965, so I took this CPU out. It is just an awesome CPU. Ran on air the whole time with a Ninja Scythe something I can't remember exactly.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Awesome X2 core AMD for the $$$$$ Has never let me down and survived 2 cheap power supply failures. This was perfect for a budget gamer build. Still going strong after almost 3 years!

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I am so glad AMD is out there, providing good CPUs that do not cost you an arm and a leg. This CPU got me updated for gaming without breaking the bank.

5 out of 5 eggsSurprised

Pros: Get's a 5.5 on Vista performance score, but I really have to say this thing rocks way more than I expected. Here's what I run. A virtual PC with 1 GB dedicated that is VPN'd in to work running Windows XP. Inside that VPC, I run Office applications such as Outlook and Word. Also running Mcafee and MSN messenger. Outside the virtual pc I have a second monitor dedicated to running several applications. Chrome with about 10 websites open, including Pandora, that plays music all the time, and Gmail. I also run Skype and magicjack and Mcafee. All of that is running all the time, but sometimes I kick off Ut2004 or Ut3 at the same time. I'm running Vista 64 with 4GB of RAM and using this proc. I have to say it never hiccups and never keeps me waiting. (I have a whole bunch of other "tray trash" running like mouse and keyboard monitors and printer monitors etc)

Cons: Doesn't score a 5.9 on Vista performance - but really I'm not dissatisfied with what this thing is delivering.

Other Thoughts: 5.9 HDD
5.9 Video performance
5.9 RAM
5.5 Proc
Those other 5.9's probably really help my experience a lot.

5 out of 5 eggsfabulous, and very fast!

Pros: this is a very fast cpu for an incredibly low price. this cpu is ideal for gaming as most games do not utilize more than 2 cores at this point

Cons: The heatsink that is included is not amazing, but it works fine.

Other Thoughts: boots windows XP faster than any other machine I have built with AMD processors. (much faster at booting/loading games & etc. than my phenom 9850).

5 out of 5 eggsGood for a dual core.

Pros: Its a dual core above 3.1GHz that is cheep. It runs cool with the stock fan. Easy instalation.

Cons: Not much headroom for overclocking. Not a quad core.

5 out of 5 eggsLovin it

Pros: runs fast, runs cool

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: Only gives a 5.5 vista score, but upgrading to anything from where my current build was at was gonna blow my mind. Switching to an AM3 tri-core for next build.
