5 out of 5 eggsOne of the Best, period.

Pros: Everything! 2.3GHz which i have EASILY been able to oc to 2.6/2.8+ for a steady year so far. Never had a issue with running multi apps or any type of gamming i throw at it! At the time i bought this my MoBo only supported up to a 95w processor which was a BIG selling point for me considering its a quad. When i bought this it was alittle cheaper than it is now and it had free shipping i believe, but at 125.99 its deffinatly still worth it!

Cons: Runs cool and quiet for me, but if you plan on clocking this you might want to think about a afterstock cooler. But its like that for pretty much everything so not rly a con.

Other Thoughts: Dunno about other ppl's rigs, but running at 2.6GHz oc with my system it scores a 7.2 in Windows 7.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat CPU

Pros: This is an excellent CPU. I purchased it to replace a failing CPU in one of my PCs. This model doesn't have the TLB bug of its predecessor the 9600 and at 95 Watts, it uses less power than 125 Watt models. If you want a good work horse, then this is the processor to get.

Cons: None so far.

5 out of 5 eggsAMD

Pros: I found the X4 9650 to work very well with my system. It is much faster and is a 65nm that works on the boards that do not support the new X4 940's .

Cons: Installed in a Biostar board and the bios was upgraded. Had to clear the Cmos to install. But other than that works fine. To the lay person it may not install as easy as you think.

Other Thoughts: I have found AMD products and NewEgg to be a great source of components. was a fan of Intel But lost me years ago when the prices shot up.

5 out of 5 eggsMade a BIG difference

Pros: Great Processor for the money made a BIG difference from my AMD 5600+ 2.9ish GHz processor I do not care what the others say about the lower Ghz speed!

Cons: I should of purchased this sooner for just over $100.00

Other Thoughts: I have to say I am really impressed with these parts. I had an AMD 5600+ Dual core processer and a GeForce 8800 graphics cards and life was pretty bad. I upgrade my processor to an AMD Quad Core 9650 (for about $120.00) only 2.3 GHz, mind you, and to a Gigabyte 260 896I graphics card (for about $200.00) and I play Crysis with all of the VERY HIGH settings. Thanks New Egg I am sitting fat now!
I also upgrade to Windows 7 64-bit from Vista 32-bit so I am sure the new software uses the cores more efficiently.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat processor

Pros: Cheap. Works great w/Asus 750I Mobo and dual asus 9600 GSO's.
Built my grandsons a box for Christmas and they love it.
Complete system for less than $800 including Win 7 and a 19" flat panel monitor.

Cons: At this price are you kidding?

Other Thoughts: If you want to built a buget box that really performs, this can't be beat. Scores a 7.0 in windows 7

5 out of 5 eggsgreat cpu and cheap

Pros: seems really quick and powerful, especially for the price, you just cant beat the price for a quad core processor. Everything works like it should, no plans of overclocking but it is fast and its cheap. Works great in my htpc, plays full hd with no problems.

Cons: cpu heatsink and fan are kind of lame, the fan is quite loud and provides no surrounding airflow. I would like to have some more cache but hey you get what you pay for.

Other Thoughts: Well this is my first amd computer that i built from the ground up, ive built lots of intel computers, owned a few amds that i bought from a friend, or was barebones. Im really happy with the overall performance of this cpu and my computer.

5 out of 5 eggs9650

Pros: Price, Speed.

Cons: Past generation CPU, somewhat noisy when heavily tasked.

Other Thoughts: Replaced amd 64x2 4200+ with the 9650 and it makes a huge difference. Highly recommend this cpu to extend the life of an aging AM2/AM2+ system. Coupled it with a new Radeon 5770 graphics card and it plays modern games greasy fast.

5 out of 5 eggsTrouble free

Pros: Stays cool 25c with zalman. Built my kid a computer awhile back, put this processor in it and have never regretted it. All his games play excellent. Nice to see a price drop.

Cons: cant think of any

Other Thoughts: this is a really nice processor, hard to believe you get this cpu for only a hundred bucks.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat!!!

Pros: In my experience AMD chips are the best on the market hands down. Reliable, fast, and able to multi-task with ease. I've tested this exact chip in gaming including WoW, SB, UO,and have run several accounts at one time, sometimes from several different games at one time. The chip performed great and had plenty more to give. I have this chip, 4GB ram,ATI Radeon HD 3450, 2 burners, 24" HD monitor, Hauppauge WinTV HVR-1250/w remote, Realtek HD Audio, and this thing runs like a dream.

Cons: None. This chip will handle it all.

Other Thoughts: If you game, create/edit multimedia, or just love to have several things going at once, this chip will make you happy.
