5 out of 5 eggsTHINK ABOUT IT

Pros: GREAT CHIP, ONE OF THE BEST GAMERS EVER

Cons: NONE ,OTHER THAN PRICE!

Other Thoughts: WHY WOULD YOU SPEND 2 C NOTES ON THIS CHIP WHEN YOU COULD BUY THE 4000 FOR 55 BUCKS??? THE 4000 CLOCKS AND PLAYS ANY GAME JUST AS WELL AS THIS CHIP,EVEN @ 189.00 ITS A RIP

4 out of 5 eggsOwnage anyone?

Pros: i've had this processor for about a yearl and upgrade from a 3000 +, this processor owns. 64 bit processor on windows vista is ownage.

Cons: outperformed by core 2 duo's, but for price to performance ratio amd still holds. Not dual core, but most games are not deisnged for running on dual cores so it doens't really matter. the Fx was designed for gaming.

Other Thoughts: IF your a gamer stick with core 2 duo or amd FX, most games run better on FX processors than x2 processors. if you have a FX x2 then you got the best of both worlds. I want to upgrade to the fx 60, top line for 939 processors

5 out of 5 eggsNewegg...put this on sale again!!1

Pros: Fantastic performance and extremely easy to overclock. Unlocked out of the box. Venice chip overclocked to 2.8 essentially makes it a FX-57 which sells for a lot more. I picked it up for a steal with a free hdd a while back.. Hope they repeat this sale, because i'd love to get another.

Cons: price jumped up without a free hard drive.... :*(

Other Thoughts: My CPU score in 3DMark03 doubled compared to my A64-3800 S939. I can rip DVD's in about half the time now (15-20 min vs 35-40min)

5 out of 5 eggsplenty fast enough for gaming

Pros: great chip for gaming..compared to dual at this speed, can be overclocked to match the fx-57 tried it..works...so what..fast enough at stock speed for me

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: why are people being brainwashed into buying dual core...if your not a multi-tasker...stay with single core processors

4 out of 5 eggsNice Upgrade For Socket 939 MB but....

Pros: I went from a 3200+ to this FX55 processor, my 3DMark score went from 3700 to 4076, not a huge jump but certainly a small step forward. The heatsink has an interesting design with copper pipes, very cool. No pun intended.

Cons: The massive heat sink, I swear AMD takes 2 steps forward on improving their heatsinks design and then they take 1 step back with the cheap arm lever, the arm that secures the heatsink snuggly to the MB is terrible. It cheap and needs to be rethought, revamped, and redesigned.

Other Thoughts: Why can't AMD compete more soundly with Intel? They really should be able to build faster processors than this. If your like me and staying with your Socket 939 MB this is a great choice, if your willing to change MB's then go with Intel they have AMD beat 10 fold.

5 out of 5 eggsEXTREMELY STABLE and RUGGED!

Pros: Interestingly, one of my performance-testing programs sees this processor as an Opteron, which EXPLAINS WHY it is so ROBUST, DURABLE, & STABLE! Stable? I've had ansolutely NO hiccups or Windows errors with this VERY FAST computer!

Cons: I HATE AMD's stock heatsink CPU coolers as blowing out the dust is next-to impossible! We all KNOW how WORTHLESS a plugged-up heatsink is. Right? ThermalRight has the ABSOLUTE BEST coolers that I've found as removing the fan is a mere unclipp of a clip and you're ready to do some SERIOUS CLEANING with NOTHING in the way!

Other Thoughts: GOSH, can you imagine that I paid $xxx bucks for this processor?

Cons: not dual core like the FX-60 is GRR!

Other Thoughts: AMD FX 55
2 gigs of kingston memory
250 gig sata 2 seagate

5 out of 5 eggsLove it

Pros: Fast, Cool with stock fan/heatsink.
Plays whatever I want it to. Great multitasker even though it's only a single core. I ran two games on accident with this once and didn't know (CS:S minimized, thought I had closed it, So I started playing BF2 after surfing the web for awhile... got done playing, closed it, and saw CSS in the task bar... Woops... O well, that was cool... would have been better on my HP to watch it explode)

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Well, I bought this back when it was six hundred... Darn shame I didn't get it for this two hundred crazyness, but I still don't regret paying the six hundred for it, that's how good it is... and when I have to upgrade to a better one, I'm staying in the FX Series. Nothing is going to get me to switch over... not even the conroe.
