5 out of 5 eggsMonster Processor @ budget

Pros: This little processor was a godsend as a game player. I know it was intended for multi-threading, but honestly there is absolutely no lag in loading or prolonged play. Recently, AMD bought out ATI, so go to their webpage and download the latest patch, it will enable multi-threading for most games.

Cons: The crashes trying to run this in a XP 32-bit environment. My fix, install XP x64.

Other Thoughts: Now that I am running WoW in a 64-bit OS, it loads, runs, and operates like a beast. This also has currently oc'd to 2.6 Ghz with absolute stability. Love it!!!!!!

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: This thing flys. Night and day difference from my 2.8 P4. Only breaks 50% usage when encoding DVDs. Very stable so far. I don't think I'll ever go back to Intel.

Cons: None so far.

5 out of 5 eggsvery pleased

Pros: Overclockes nicely, runs cool, performs well.

Cons: none sofar

Other Thoughts: I was runnin an OCed Opteron 146 and upgraded to this X2 at the same time I upgraded to Vista. I currently have it running at 2.6GHz with a core voltage of 1.375. IMO, a dual core CPU is almost a must have for Vista, the performance difference is night and day

5 out of 5 eggsCan you say.....POWER?

Pros: Solid, stable, and software-based overclock. The heat spreader is a welcome step up from the miniscule heat transfer surface of my old Athlon 1400+. The stock heatsink and fan are also quite impressive.

Cons: Socket 939 so its a little outdated, but I didn't feel like springing for the AM2 so that's my own fault. The L2 is also kinda small, but 512K per core is still plenty. Aside from those....lack of programs that take full advantage of the dual cores?

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: FAST!!!

Cons: had to install drivers- a long process, can be found here: http://forums.amd.com/index.php?showtopic=64936

Other Thoughts: had to clean the included heat sink off with alcohol so I could use arctic silver. Newegg's shipping is good at packing... but they apparently only have one size of box- this arrived in its own box- a very large one, full of peanuts...

5 out of 5 eggsCPU fun

Pros: Excellent - my second x2. I love them. Not finiky, don't have heat or power concerns.

This one went into an ASRock 939-Vista board with no problms.

Cons: What's not to like - inexpensive too - doesn't require big investment in boards etc.

Other Thoughts: AMD has these things licked.

4 out of 5 eggsSolid.

Pros: A very solid processor able to multi task efficiently. Great price -to-performance ratio...it's def. a modern processor with newer technologies able to keep up with...anything I throw at it.

Overclocks quite a bit (and stable) on stock cooling, and a lot more on aftermarket!

Cons: -

5 out of 5 eggsthis thing kicks buttt... i love it

Pros: i own the X2 3800+ and man this thing is so fast. i was blown away from using my old 3400+ on my old 754 mobo. gaming doesn't have too much diffenrences except loading tymes are quicker. i can run limewire, a full system norton scan, 3 web browers open, AIM, & burn a CD; i can do all this while playing CSS and it has no affect on lagging\latency at all. I love this CPU. Since i have the 3800+ X2 it is onli 2.0Ghz, but i can OC it to an insane 2.65 with my setup. you gotta love new egg. bought everything here excpet the processor. :) thanks again newegg i love u guys.

Cons: are you serious.. i you are desiding wat processor to use in a dual core system deffinately go with AMD X2 or the FX. No need to waste ur money on Intel core Duo. Those dont even perform close to these things. plus AMDs run alot cooler. i got mine liquid cooled and it is idle 29C and 41C full load. and think i got mi Oced 650Mhz more then stock. the new duos from intel r way too hot, and that affects performs alot. Srry this was so long jus wanted to write a good review for someone lookin to buy a good CPU

Other Thoughts: i would've reviewed the 3800+ but new dont have it.
