5 out of 5 eggsVery Good Processor.

Pros: Overclocked fairly well, presently running at 2.8ghz, but haven't tried beyond that point.
No "sketchy cores." Perfectly stable. Best processor I presently own.
I can run 4 virtual computers and still power through other tasks.

Cons: Does get fairly warm, get something with copper if you plan on oc'ing.

At this point, kind of out of date for building a new system. I agree with a previous reviewer who said "Go with an Athlon II X4" for all the reasons he listed, unless this comes with a bundle or you're getting a deal.

Other Thoughts: You have to remember that this is only a 2.4ghz quad core. If your software isn't written to utilize 4 cores, then you're probably not going to see any improvement in the performance of that particular software in a dual core model. At most, you'd likely just see more ability to multi-task.

The bottom line is, right now, you can get an Athlon II X4 for ~100 with a clock speed of 2.8ghz and get all the benefits that come with it: DDR3, better architecture, less power usage and cooler temps! L3 cache performance increase is negligible, some articles stating a ~5% increase on average, so unless you're a bleeding edge guy, don't sweat it for now.

1 out of 5 eggsHORRIBLE

Pros: Good price.

Cons: I swapped this out for my AMD 64x2 5000+. Thought it would be a nice upgrade ior at a minimum a side grade for quad core for better multitasking. DO NOT BUY THESE PROCESSORS. After about 2 weeks of having it installed it started to error. I kept getting disconnected from online games from errors and could not figure out why. I finallly did some research, and changed back to my old processor. Disconnects stopped immediately. Whatever patch they did on these for the TBM error and low grade silicon issues did not fix anything at all. DO NOT BUY THIS PROCESSOR.

5 out of 5 eggsWonderful!

Pros: Definitely the performance boost i imagined over my old Pentium 4 2.4ghz. Well worth the money. Its a xx50 so that means the bug has been fixed on this model as well!

Cons: poor overclocking, but hey, do you really need it? i got mine to nearly 3ghz and that's more than enough for me. also no heat-sink or fan but you'll want to buy an aftermarket one anyway. also from what i hear you dont see much of a performance boost in games over a dual core but none of these are really cons since you should know all this before you buy it XD

Other Thoughts: yay! i can actually run more than just WoW on my computer now!!!

5 out of 5 eggsIt is cheap adn works good on AM2+

Pros: It's a quad core for way cheap. I bought mine when it was around $60.00. Fits nicely into a DDR2 system with AM2+/AM3 MOBO making this processor a really cheap upgrade from a Athalon X2 CPU to bring some life back into you aging machine.

Cons: It's not a black edition and needs the 125W MOBO.

Other Thoughts: I leave mine at 2.54 Ghz with no increase in temp or voltage, that's around 500 Mhz for free without any problems or stability issues on a Gigabyte MOBO. If you buy this or any other processor that's as fast, you must realize that your going to max out your HDD if it's not an SSD. You will start to really see the bottleneck that is created with everything in your machine running faster than the HDD.

1 out of 5 eggsThe Worst Processor I bought

Pros: Cheap thats it.

Cons: Runs worse than my dual core 2.6ghz this quad core is not worth your time or money. I have to run my games on lower settings than I had with my dual core. Look for a different one if your looking for power

Other Thoughts: DON'T spend your money on this. It is a big waste

4 out of 5 eggssatisfied with results

Pros: Gave a small but noticeable performance bump when it replaced an old X2 6000+.
Runs cool enough with an Arctic Freezer 64 pro 92 HSfan.

Cons: None, really. Stretching here. This ver. X4 9750 happens to be the 125w TDP.

Other Thoughts: A good purchase. HS fan keeps this cool enough. This will not overclock on the older MB, but not complaining. These CPUs are not highly regarded for overclocking potential. The rig is used mostly for games.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat CPU

Pros: Great little CPU, did a rebuild on the kids computer.

Cons: Running a bit on the warm side

Other Thoughts: Great for out of the box performance. Benchmarks in the ballpark of my q6600 when both running at stock.
