5 out of 5 eggsDestroyer of Worlds

Pros: I have a philosophy that anyone who buys processors based solely on the benchmarks between them is a fool and must be punished. I built a small system using this processor, 8GB of RAM, and it outstripped Intel's famous and fearsome i5 Ivy Bridge processor by a considerable amount. Even today, it is faster than most ordinary computers I have come across, the computer is already about 3 years old. I love the Atlon series. They're cheap, efficient, reliable, and extremely easy to maintain. I cannot think of a more successful series of processors, and this is by far my favourite part of the series.

Cons: absolutely none.

Other Thoughts: I would still buy this processor today, if it were still in stock. If you want a quiet, reliable, processor.

5 out of 5 eggsSurprisingly Good

Pros: 1. Able to O'C to 2.42GHz on stock fan and heatsink with ease(need to upgrade RAM to PC2 5300 level in order to O'C it more). 2. Part of a system that out performs my friends 2.4GHz(stock setting) Intel duo core

Cons: My Mobo doesn't use the 1.30V setting

5 out of 5 eggsIncredible speed

Pros: This CPU flawlessly keeps up with my demands, and I have the CompizConfig Settings Manager package installed with "Gutsy Gibbon" Ubuntu 7.10. There is no lag whatsoever. This CPU also kept up with a Gutsy live CD with absolutely zero lag (except for loading programs or menus).

Even at 2.2GHz, the dual-cores effectively double the CPU's capabilities.

Cons: None that I can think of at all.

5 out of 5 eggsZippy for the price

Pros: First Dualcore CPU, upgraded from a single core 3000. This thing is awesome for the price, anyone that wants to make the switch to dual core, i highly reccomend this one.

Cons: could use a bit higher L2 cache like that of the 4000

Other Thoughts: Great, cheap, and simple to install, arrived fast too

Pros: For price this processor is def. worth every penny. Very fast.

Cons: none i could think of...

Other Thoughts: huge upgrade from p4 1.6ghz. I saw the difference right away. Also on-board video was pretty descent. For price you can't beat this anywhere. NEWEGG you guys are awsome, super fast shipping. Thank you!

5 out of 5 eggsWish it was mine...

Pros: Very nice processor, cheap, dual core, VERY fast. It scored better than an Intel 2.8Ghz PD and an Intel 3.0Ghz P4 on the PC Wizard 2008 Benchmark Test even though it was cheaper and has a slower clock speed. I put this in my Fiance's computer...it responds a lot better than my Intel based PC.

Cons: It's not mine. :-P

Other Thoughts: Just because an AMD doesn't have a lot of Cache doesn't mean it can't school an Intel.

4 out of 5 eggsGood CPU Bad Fan

Pros: Great CPU that I am currently overclocking. No problems with the chip.

Cons: The retail fan was bad out of the box. I built a complete new PC and my CPU was at 70C before i noticed the retail fan was unreliable.

Other Thoughts: That is 5C over the recomended temp limit. But the chip still works fin with a new heatsink.

5 out of 5 eggsGood Performance, Good Price

Pros: Dual core, decent L2 cache, all around solid processor. Good heatsink fan.

Cons: Made me cry at the shear awesome of this processor.

Other Thoughts: Ok, it's a processor, it's an AMD. It's dual-core and perfect for a budget. Can't get a better description than that. I'll tell ya, I've been a solid AMD fan for many years from now, their supporting chipsets are better, they have fewer stability problems, and they just perform better in my book. This may not be the top-of-the-line processor but it is perfect for everyday general use. Used this in a PC built for my mom on a budget. She wanted a computer she wouldn't have to upgrade every couple of months and something that would be stable and useful for multi-tasking. This processor is just about perfect.

5 out of 5 eggsscreamer for the $

Pros: Excellent entry AM2 chip. Very stable with the Foxconn C51 MoBo.

Cons: None so far

Other Thoughts: Do not do what I did, I ordered a socket 939 chip with my AM2 MB. Make sure chip and MB match.
