5 out of 5 eggsFor The Reviewers Below

Pros: This processor is really fast. Doesnt have pins so you cant break it off on accident.

Cons: The stock fan is loud.

Other Thoughts: For the reviewer below: You dont need 2 of these processors to make a computer run. I only have 1 of these and my computer runs fine. Not as fast as it would with 2 but still. Also they do have a motherboard with this socket. It is called dual socket L(1207 FX). All that happened was newegg is selling 1 processor instead of 2 and calling it socket F(1207 FX). If you buy it in a pair it is called socket L. This does only come with 1 processor. Im waiting for another one to come in stock so I can have 2.

5 out of 5 eggsOne of the best on the market, still ahead of it's time

Pros: Yes, this is the same socket that the TRUE quad cores will be released on. If you get two of these, and yes you do need to buy two, once the quads are out you're instantly ready to go from 2x2 to 4x4. Still 90nm fabs and matching pace with intels 65nm quads of the same design, which intel plans to stick with for some time.

Cons: Don't own it, but that's because of the second con of their being no motherboard options at this time. They are power hogs, they run loud. But it's alright, AMD just threw this together real quick to match intels "finished design" lol

Other Thoughts: There really isn't a need for these yet. The quad cores will be coming out soon, and a wide choice of motherboards. What's better then a 3ghz cpu for $300? A 3.6ghz 4400x2 toledo core 939 that cose $130. Refurb, rarest 939 athlon stepping you can find LCCBE. Oh yeah, running it at 1.475v idles at 35c 43c under load....and it's on air. Ill stick with my dually till the 4 core 1207 comes out, but congrats to those that own them.

5 out of 5 eggsInquiry

Pros: I simply have a single but important question to all of you who have purchased these processors. Do they come two to a single package or do you have to purchase two of them. Newegg's tech support isn't great to say the least, so anyone out there that may be able to answer this with another comment please feel free.

Cons: Does well with the bench and statistically with overclocking, but as you can see in the above, I don't own one, want to, but need the question answered first.

Other Thoughts: Thanks whoever tackles this question.

5 out of 5 eggsBad to the Bone!

Pros: This cpu can't be stopped! I put it in and used asus's overclocking features, put it to 20% overclocking and now runs at 3.1gb smooth and steady!

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: 300 bucks for a 3Gb cpu, does it get any better. I love it!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat performance but..

Pros: The processors are VERY fast. Quad-core is the way to go especially for the future generation of gaming. From what I see you can overclock them very easily to 3.0GHz(Max stable level) but I wouldnt do it without liquid cooling. And for the price your getting the equivelent of the Intel Core 2 extreme for $300 less. Also AMD's new quad core processors are expected to be released on this socket. What more could you ask for?

Cons: The processors fans are somewhat loud but keep the processors at a stable temperature. Also the specific hardware required (Asus L1964-SLI WS) to use the processors are somewhat constricting (even if it is a nice motherboard)

Other Thoughts: I would say this requires a minimum 750 watt power supply to run both processors and video card effeciently.
My Setup: 2x 2.6GHz FX-70 processors, 2 Gigs DDR2 800 Ram, Geforce 8800 GTS 320MB,L1964-SLI WS, 750 PSU.

5 out of 5 eggsAir Conditioning

Pros: Runs really fast, stock cooling works really well.

Cons: Stock cooling sounds like an air conditioner, not counting case fans.

Other Thoughts: Great chips for the price,

5 out of 5 eggsWow! Overclock Potential!

Pros: Comes in a little green box. Stock heatsink keeps the cpu cool (131F/55C). I was able to overclock the CPU from 2.6 to 2.98 Ghz.

Cons: Fans are a little noisy.

Other Thoughts: Very happy. I really have no complaints. The cpu Socket F package is very small.
