5 out of 5 eggsBent Pin, Quick RMA

Pros: Alright CPU for my mid range build. Performed where it should on the Passmark site.

Cons: RMA'd the first one because of 1 bent pin. Was none too impressed with the packaging.

Other Thoughts: RMA process was quick and free. Didn't put me too far behind on my build.

1 out of 5 eggsNever buy a newegg OEM

Pros: none

Cons: DOA
thought it was the mobo so when I RMA'ed that and got it back, I was past my 30 days and could not return the processor. contacted AMD directly and they do not cover OEMs.

Other Thoughts: waste of time and money.

4 out of 5 eggspretty good cpu so far

Pros: love this cpu so far, it runs great for my temp cpu, going to upgrade soon though to a amd fx 8 core cpu to be future proof.

Cons: did not come with a heantsync, and was not properly delivered on time, ordered overnight shipping and got it 7 days later as always with ups overnight garbage, i wish newegg had kept fedex overnight.

Other Thoughts: cpu is good but dont go through ups for shipping they throw the packages at me and they take way too long for delivery if you even get youre package without them loosing or damaging it all the time, wich they love to do at ups.

5 out of 5 eggsathlon ii x4 645

Pros: Stays cools , 16 idle and 47 under load, paired it with a cheap msi motherboard for 50$. I builded severals gaming machines with these , and I must say I'm impressed with the perfomance of this chip for it's price. A 20-25$ heat sink is suffisant.

Cons: I didn't have any bent pint , but the pink foam sometimes gets stuck between the pins, so be sure to remove it with a needle, before it melts under your cpu..

Other Thoughts: got it on sale for 70$ shipped , awesome newegg! thanks

5 out of 5 eggsVery adequate CPU

Pros: Dropped this on a ASRock 760GM-GS3 to build a budget friendly HTPC w/ a little muscle. Works beautifully so far.

Cons: Does not come with a cooler. Not a big deal if you have one, but just something to be aware of. I paired mine with the stock cooler from my FX-8150 build (that system got a liquid cooler) and the temps are very nice. 20C at idle, haven't been able to push it above 28C yet, and the fan is nice and quiet so far.

Other Thoughts: Had a couple of bent pins when I took it out of the container. Not a manufacturing defect, probably happened during shipping somewhere. Straightened them up easily, no eggs off for that, just check your pins before you try to shove it in the socket!

5 out of 5 eggsGood Quad Core Replacement

Pros: - Low Cost
- 7.4/7.9 WEI (OC'd to 3.56 GHz)
- Low Heat (50 C CPU temp w/Prime95 (2 hrs)
-

Cons: This blurb is not meant as a con for the chip's performance, but as a caution for those purchasing OEM CPUs. This cpu was part of a cpu/motherboard/memory replacement for a Q9400 that died after nearly 4 years. The chip was shipped in a clamshell package with a foam base. It had several bent gold pins straight out of the package. Fortunately, I was able to realign the pins and use the cpu. Please check the cpu before installing it into the motherboard. I t could save you some frustration and cost.

Other Thoughts: Motherboard - ASRock 970 Extreme 3
CPU - AMD Athlon II X4 645
Cooler - CM Hyper 212 Plus
Memory - Team Xtreem Dark Series 8GB DDR3 1600 (2x4Gb)

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: I use it for my gaming PC. No bumps, lag, or hiccups what so ever. Runs ALL of my games around 60-80 FPS at max-ultra settings with max AA so forth. Price is nice too....

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I got this with a combo pack and basically the processor was like 40-50 bucks instead of a 100 so I went with it instead of FX 6200. Not a big regret as I can upgrade to that later on for about another bill. But its unnecessary to have a hex-core unless you are doing heavy graphics work or converting. Most games use just two of your cores though some in the future(Maybe 2-4 years) might use 3-4 cores.
