5 out of 5 eggsNice OC

Pros: Good gaming and OC starter. Cheap.

Cons: Lots of power and old socket type

Other Thoughts: If you want a lower end gaming computer to run simpler games this is the processor for you. Pretty quick, handles BF4 when OC.
Stock is 2.6Ghz, mine is oc at 3.2Gz now (110x and 29x), probably could go higher. Paired with this Mobo:
ASRock A75 PRO4

If you plan to upgrade in the future i would be a little weary because you will need to get a new Mobo for the socket type. But defiantly a greater start and beginning to a gaming computer. Cheap and works well!

5 out of 5 eggsKilled bang-for-the-buck HTPC CPU

Pros: Coming from a Pentium D this is a great little processor. Don't believe the hype about the unlocked multiplier... that's a BIOS glitch that people are exploiting to create the ILLUSION of 4.4GHz processors.

That being said, this is the best processor you can get for less than $100.

Cons: The heatsink hearkens back to the early Thunderbird days. Fan can be loud at high speed. Clearly some cost was saved with this (see other thoughts).

Other Thoughts: The heatsink may not be anything special, but it DOES keep the CPU cool even under heavy loads at stock frequency. If you're overclocking, you're likely to look for an aftermarket cooler anyway.

5 out of 5 eggsComfortable CPU

Pros: Does NOT have an integral GPU----------AND is a quad-core CPU.

Cons: DOes NOT have an integral GPU-- yeah, what a dicotomy!! But for those who need/want Crossfire capability, this is not the APU you're looking for!

5 out of 5 eggsI love it.

Pros: * Performance/price ratio.
* best quad-core in the internet for under $100.

Cons: Nothing really.

Other Thoughts: I have been an Intel enthusiast for long. That is when AMD was still running behind Intel. But recently since both companies (and the technology in general) have hit a wall trying to increase performance (cpu clock beyond 5GHz), AMD seems to have caught up with Intel. And seriously for the same price you can always get a AMD processor that is better than its competitor from Intel.

5 out of 5 eggsWEI 7.2 for $75

Pros: Very inexpensive for what you are buying. Uses all four cores for video encoding with certain programs e.g. free studio by DVDvideosoft. Had for $75 and I picked up another for $65 just as a spare. FM1 boards can be purchased relatively cheap. WEI 7.2 , no hickups, runs circles around my Intel G630 that was the same price, though I would recommend either depending on your requirements

Cons: NONE to be mentioned.

Other Thoughts: AMD does not offer a more powerful chip without an integrated graphics on-the-chip. I think this is where these manufactures have gone wrong. Either integrate the graphics on the board (like the older AMD), less preferred, or just keep it with discrete graphics cards as improvements occur much more rapidly in this area allowing the consumer to pop out and replace the card.
On the net you can see that they were or planned for more powerful Athlon ll x4 processors, however, they have not launched.

5 out of 5 eggsFantastic Motherboard

Pros: Install was super easy, no stand offs needed. One of the easiest builds ever.
Used an AMD Athlon II X4 631 Propus 2.6GHz Socket FM1 100W Quad-Core Desktop Processor and ASUS GT520-1GD3-CSM GeForce GT 520 (Fermi) 1GB 64-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP graphics card.

This set up runs cool, fast and the graphics are superb.

Cons: Only one Asus support disc did not have drivers for Win 7 64 bit Ultimate operating system. Had to have them downloaded off the Asus website. Minor inconvience but, worth noting.

Other Thoughts: Programs and browsers open so fast I may have to build another system for myself. This build was for my wife.

Also used: G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-12800CL9D-8GBRL

Everything fit nicely into a Rosewill R101-P-BK-450W MicroATX Mid Tower Computer Case.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat CPU

Pros: This is without doubt the best CPU that you can get for less than $100.

Cons: Best Price/Performance ratio

Other Thoughts: FM1 Socket, No graphic, not a I7 or Bulldozer.

You can have this CPU/MB(SATA3,USB3)/RAM(8G DDR3) for $200.

As usual NEWEGG rocks, very fast delivery.
