5 out of 5 eggsnot to shabby

Pros: cheap overclocked it to 3.9ghz going for 4 but even without the overclock works like it should

Cons: heatsink and fan suck but what do you expect for like 50 bucks

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: A very fast processor that suits my needs perfectly. I was able to fairly easily overclock it from the stock 3.4 GHz to 4.2 GHz, but I keep it at 4.1 GHz for maximum stability. Runs VERY cool and the stock cooler is high-quality.

Cons: Don't expect a motherboard with a core-unlocker to be a guarantee, as I have not successfully unlocked this processor or the last AM-series processor I bought. Fabulous overclocker, though.

3 out of 5 eggsLopsided heatsink...

Pros: It works... fortunately

Cons: the OEM heat-sink I recieved slides slightly out of place when clamping and will not sit squarely... It works (after cleaning off the cheap thermal paste and using arctic silver) but any more give and I really doubt it would.

Other Thoughts: It's for my litecoin mining rig, there for it doesn't require a large workload for the processor and overheating isn't an issue... It works so I'm content, but for a serious build i would recommend checking the heat-sink before applying thermal grease just in case this isn't an isolated incident.

Chances are you would be buying a higher grade processor anyways.

4 out of 5 eggsMissing CPU logo

Pros: So far this CPU is running fine. No complaints on its performance. I have had it for 2 days.

Cons: This isn't something that should take away from the performance review, but unlike previous AMD processors I have purchased, this one arrived without any sticker or logo on the factory fan. This looks weird to me, especially since I have it in a clear panel case. I did receive the sticker to put on the outside of my case, however.

5 out of 5 eggsFor The Gamers (FTG)

Pros: This is a great processor for all PC gamers. I can play every PC game with this. Plus I already have a nice graphic card.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: This is a great buy for anyone that's building a low cost PC gaming rig.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Value

Pros: 1. Pretty fast
2. Stable
3. Easy to overclock
4. Price was right

Cons: Doesnt cook my breakfast or take out the trash.

Other Thoughts: Bought this CPU as part of a Combo pack with the Biostar A880GZ and Corsair memory. Built this budget build computer for my daughter and its running like a champ. This computer will primarily be used to access the internet, skype, look at pics, and word processing. The 3.4 gig speed is quite fast enough for her intended purposes. Would recommend for anyone needing a cost effective, stable yet easily over clockable CPU.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Was perfect part of a combo package (saved me the guesswork of matching MB to processor. IS great for an upgrade of a current system and runs very quietly - easy to install.

Cons: None so far

Other Thoughts: Gotta love Newegg for their combo deals! They take the guesswork out of building or upgrading my systems.

5 out of 5 eggsAthlon II X2 270

Pros: AMD, 3.4GHz, 2MB L2 Cache,

Cons: Okay, the heatsink

Other Thoughts: When using the X2 270 to upgrade a Compact or HP one must also consider what one is upgrading. What I mean is how many transfers is the motherboard rated at? (Intel rates some of their motherboards @FSB) what type and how much memory? Sata HDD? What OS?
I paired the X2 270 with the $39.00 ASRock 760GSM-GS3, 5200 Mega transfers, 2GB DDR3 1333, and Windows XP Pro 32 bit. When I boot it up I can be on the internet before the XP Startup jingle comes out of the speakers. Now that is fast.

5 out of 5 eggsnot a bad little processor

Pros: Reliable, works fairly well with most games

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Isn't bad for the price but if your doing a lot of gaming I'd recommend getting something a little better to get more fps

5 out of 5 eggsA pretty great processor!

Pros: I bought this for a system upgrade that was greatly needed in an old Compaq system. I replaced the motherboard, RAM, and of course the CPU. I chose this CPU because it was pretty cheap [I wasn't really looking for anything major, just something for daily computing.] and reliable! I've had this processor since December last year, and it's always stayed cool with the stock cooler, and no problems what-so-ever!

Cons: None that I've ran into.
