4 out of 5 eggsNot For Mondern Gaming

Pros: The APU has 4 Cores running at 4.1GHz that works great with multi-tasking and playing power-hungry games. Comes with GPU, which means a graphics card is optional.

Cons: The APU is a FM2 chip, which does not support PCIe 3.0 (From my understanding). If your motherboard supports PCIe 3.0, you must get an FM2+ CPU that it supports. So, if you plan on installing a PCIe 3.0 graphics card, this processor is a big no~no for you. The GPU in the processor is older technology that will not provide great graphics for modern games and may result in low frame rates. The APU/CPU will overheat if you use any programs (Such as games and video conversion tools) that will take advantage of the 4 cores and speed. Get high-quality thermal compound, a new heat sink, or both.

Other Thoughts: I would only recommend this APU if you were doing light gaming and purchased a better heat sink. I recommend the Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO. It works great with mine, but beware, it is a large heat sink. So measure your case!

4 out of 5 eggsLow end / occational gamer / 2nd system choice

Pros: My first CPU died about 4 hours after first firing it up. I'm not sure what happened but the system would not post, no beeps, no video. Just the case fans would run.

I replaced the motherboard and CPU and the system is running great with a 6.9 WEI.

I strongly recommend the Coolermaster 212+ or Evo cooler with this CPU. Mine was sitting around 40C in the bios screens but never got to even 50C while gaming.

I'll be building another for the kids to use.

Cons: runs hot, aftermarket cooler mandatory, possible quality control issues.

Other Thoughts: I've always had weird issues when building AMD systems. I've been using strictly Intel for the last 10+ years without issue. This was chosen for a 'bang for the buck' system and you get a whole lot of bang for the buck with this CPU over a Haswell i5

4 out of 5 eggsSerious Fan!

Pros: Works great, plenty fast for my purposes but the included cooling fan (required per warranty) really gets cranked up at times. Never heard a fan make quite that much noise.

The processor is installed in a HTPC and one thing that impressed me was loading my wife's karaoke songs. The previous system would take a couple minutes to "import" the 30,366 song files and would pause a couple times during the import. When I hit the import button with this beast it literally blinked off in about 3 or 4 seconds. I'm thinking it couldn't possibly be done that quickly but it sure enough was done that quickly.

Cons: When the fan spools up I think the lights dim a little. While I'm writing this the CPU is showing 43.9 C and the case is 43.1 C so it is doing the job it was designed for.

Other Thoughts: I wonder what kind of processors will be on the market is a couple decades?

5 out of 5 eggsHad to come back to write a review..

Pros: Cheap

Cons: Runs Hoooottttttt

Other Thoughts: I had to come back to write a review about my experience with this little chip.

If You're using this to surf the web, stop reading. it's a perfect little card and it's CHEAP. Stick it in a computer and go. if you want to do some light gaming with the igpu upgrade the ram. Cannot stress that enough, 2133mhz ram or bust. Do not cheap out on the ram or the mobo.

if you're going to do heavy gaming continue reading:

I had originally bought this chip to replace a computer that was running a core duo. It was a PC that I used for surfing the web and whatnot. My gaming PC decided to end it's life so I swapped this board into that casing. I had no problems with this chip to begin with, it ran a little hot, but I didn't care I used it mainly for surfing and it was excellent at that.
I paired it with 8G of corsair vegence 1600mhz and a r9 280x. Thing ran HOOT. So hot I didn't even play it that night. Went down to a local shop and picked up a CM TX3. Added two 80MM fans and modified my casing a little to fit another two fans. Brought the temp down quite a bit. Currently I run this at 4.7ghz with something like 1.43v if I remember correctly. Sits about 32-34c at idle and 50-60c at extreme gaming.

My main recommendation if you plan to game with this chip is to GET A NEW COOLER. No joke. Do not even play games with this without getting a cooler. I must have been lucky as I was only hitting temps of 70ish during games, I see people saying they were hitting 90!? That's insane. The chip cuts power back if it starts to get too hot. Get a new cooler and turn off all the throttling aspects. Do some overclocking, at stock speeds 4.1ghz it's fast enough to run your basic games. I play a lot of smite, d3, heroes and generals, and other various games that don't require much cpu usage. DayZ/Arma 3 both require a lot. I noticed a HUGE HUGE HUGE HUGE HUUGE frame rate increase going from 4.1 to 4.7ghz. I also hit a multicore score of 8241. Stock it got a 6421. The single core score also had a decent incrase.

All in all. Get a new cooler. I'd recommend the cm tx3 or if your case can fit it the the hyper master 212 evo. Simply putting a new cooler in and turning off the heating throttle will give you better performance out of this chip guaranteed. I've owned it for a year. About to upgrade to an am3 fx chip. Keeping this card for another surfing build but I will say if your budget is tight it's a nice cpu, granted you pair it with good ram.

Personally I'd not get the 6800k I'd go with the 7850k, pretty similar benchmark scores but I believe the 7850k has better selection of gpu's you can crossfire. Toodles.

5 out of 5 eggsVery good for a budget gaming and editing PC

Pros: Runs very well, I highly recommend using an aftermarket cooler because I took one look at it and said no. And from what I see it looks like I was right. I can play Flight Simulator X on high settings and get 60FPS and BF3 on Ultra at 40-50FPS.

Temps at Idle are right now at 32°C with the Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo as a push and pull config.

Cons: You absolutely need to ditch the stock cooler, and ensure you add the thermal paste right.

Might not be best for photo and video editing but not sure if that's my memories issue or the CPU

Other Thoughts: Absolutely perfect for budget gaming.

Buy a aftermarket cooler. (DO NOT USE STOCK)

4 out of 5 eggsMy Upgrade!!

Pros: I have a Asrock -FM2A85X Extreme 4 Motherboard that has a A10-5800K and I wanted an APU that has a higher value gpu and the next and actually the only one left in this category is the A10-6800K and that makes my upgrade on this system complete. it's used as my Home Entertainment Center.

Cons: None yet! will come back to update info as I have used it or awhile.

1 out of 5 eggsBAD CPU

Pros: All my games ran smoothly. I loved it while it worked.

Cons: Stock heat sink did not work at all. The cpu melted onto the motherboard before my liquid cooling showed up in the mail. And I had to get replacements for both.
