Crush your virtual enemies, climb the mountain of paperwork . . . do both at the same time. Intel's Core 2 Duo E6320 not only makes it possible, it makes it easy. Carved from a Conroe die each of the 2 cores runs at 1.86GHz and shares 4MB of L2 cache.
This processor is an integral part of Intel's Viiv technology. Your Viiv-based PC can easily access a wide variety of on-demand entertainment sources that you can display on either your monitor or play through your home theater setup. But it’s not just movies, there’s also TV, music and games. It also makes it easier to manage the music, video and photos on your PC.
Two cores means true multi-tasking and multi-threading. Tasks or threads get their own core, no more sharing one core and set of clock cycles. This lets you turn your system into the ultimate home entertainment center PC. One core can play a DVD on the TV, the second sends audio to the kids in another room with no lags or stutters. All this is made easier with Intel’s Digital Media Boost.

Decisons, Decisions, Cache or Cash?
- Pros: Thanks Newegg for being the FIRST to bring me 4M bytes for $xxx. This will hold me down until Penryn (Tick) 2qtr 07-08 or better yet until Nehalm (Tock) procs arrive in 08-09.
- Cons: My Condolences goes out to those who were either impatient or didn't read about the quick arrival of the E6x20 series.
- Other Thoughts: Unless your on a quest for the lower prices on a Core 2 Duo 2m byte procs. I would defintely spend your cash on a bigger cache Core 2.
Very good OC'r with Gigabyte 965p-DS3
- Pros: This thing commonly hit 3.0ghz on air with DDR800 memory with the Gigabyte 965p-DS3..
I bought 8 Mobos/CPUs to build 8 sytems, lowest OC was 3.0 highest i got was 3.3 .. (stock cooling)!!!
REALLY easy to overclock!!!
- Cons: none

have problems
- Pros: Ran good for about the first 10 months. Stock cooler is good with no complaints.
- Cons: After about 10 months this CPU became unstable and caused my computer to crash and shut down. Overclocked speed of 2.92GHZ. Contacted Intel they are sending me a new one. The temp on the chip never went above 130 degrees F. Maybe just a bad chip.
- Other Thoughts: I had bought this from Newegg back in April 30, 2007. I hope when Intel ships me the replacement it last longer then 10 Months. If not I'm going back to AMD. After computer became unstable I backed the over clocking down to 2.33GHZ and ran for two weeks before over heating again. I had cleaned the old grease of and replaced it again with Aritc Silver but continued to over heat and shut down. Have the chip running at stock speed with temps reaching 184 degrees F.
- Pros: Much better design than my not-overclocked Pent D 945 (3.4ghz) on watercooling, which it outperforms very well on the intel oem cooler. Very budget friendly and is an all-in-one application processor.
- Cons: .
- Other Thoughts: Anything intel makes labeled Conroe is going to keep you grinning till your teeth shatter. Best bang for buck yet. Go for lowest speed processor at the highest size shared L2, eg. If you dont know what to buy: a 2Ghz/6M L2 processor is much better at media and databases than a 3ghz/2M L2 processor. Usually they are cheaper. Marketing aims for mhz/ghz to sell.
Great
- Pros: Stable, quick at stock speeds. On an Abit Fatality FP-IN9 SLI (Nforce 650i, i got this stable at 2.755Ghz. Using Zalmen 9500 cooler. Great chip.
- Cons: None, except that it's not stable at 3Ghz.
- Other Thoughts: None, Intel rocks.

Highlights
 |
Dual-core Processing with 4MB Shared L2 Cache The Intel Core 2 Duo E6320 Conroe processor features two complete processor cores in one physical package. Significant performance headroom, especially for multi-threaded applications, helps boost system utilization through virtualization and application responsiveness. Its 4MB shared L2 cache increases efficiency of L2 cache-to-processor data transfer, maximizes main memory to processor bandwidth and reduces latency.
|
 |
Enhanced Intel SpeedStep Technology (EIST) EIST allows the system to dynamically adjust processor voltage and core frequency to decrease average power consumption and average heat production. Combined with existing power saving features, EIST may provide an excellent balance between providing power when you need it and conserving power when you don’t.
|
 |
Intel Extended Memory 64 Technology (Intel EM64T) Enhances next-generation IA-32 platforms with 64-bit addressability and related instructions, allowing flexibility for both 64-bit and 32-bit applications and operating systems.
|
 |
Intel Virtualization Technology (Intel VT) Intel Virtualization Tehcnology makes it even easier to increase server utilization in your data center by consolidating more applications, while improving data center reliability and adding robustness to virtualized systems.
|
 |
Execute Disable Bit (EDB) Intel's Execute Disable Bit function can prevent certain classes of malicious "buffer overflow" attacks when combined with a supporting operating system. Execute Disable Bit allows the processor to classify areas in memory where application code can execute and where it cannot. When a malicious worm attempts to insert code in the buffer, the processor disables code execution, preventing damage or worm propagation.
